Twineheart
OOC: I will now proceed to break that trend XD
The white tom was quite startled by Rainbriar's sudden removal of her head from his embrace, fixing him a sharp look with dark yellow eyes that glowed with something he couldn't quite fathom. Anger? At what? It was probably at the honest words that tumbled from his mouth. Yup, it is, he thought quietly as the silver tabby began talking about how alone and scared the cats he mentioned must have felt. What pricked his heart with hurt was the terseness of the she-cat's voice, as if she disliked the way Webfire had brought out the topic; this was intensified by the tight line on her jaw as she seemed to glare him down.
Webfire let out a deep sigh, gently pushing his muzzle to Rainbriar's. "Even if that chance ever comes to me, I can't bear to take it, Rainbriar. Not when I have a friend in need." The figure of a frightened silver tom no older than himself flashed in his mind, accompanied by a terrified howl as it sank to the ground with yellow eyes screwed shut. So many things had happened since the night both him and Silverspot witnessed a young queen's death, leading to the latter's traumatised state. "I don't know how he'll react if I ever go missing from the Clan as simply as that."
He gazed into the MidnightClanner's eyes, the memory of the only sister in his litter flitting into his vision. Thistlepaw had gone missing along with Webmask sometime in the season, but with the onset of greencough, StormClan couldn't spare enough warriors to send on a search party. I can't lose another cat if I can help it. Blue eyes blinked up towards the warriors of StarClan, ears flicking back in thoughts of mixed annoyance and sadness. If I can't protect them, then leaving would be cowardice.
