The brown fawn tom paced around the territory, watching carefully for any signs of prey. Mudpaw flicked his tail, his ears pricked for sound. 

Nothing. 

His tail drooping slightly, he tromped through the heavy snow, his leg fur growing wet. Ugh. The snow was now as high as half his legs, and he had to use all his energy to jump-walk through. Quickly growing tired, Mudpaw began panting. Suddenly, the snow gave away and he fell into the dip. 

"Ow!"

Cloudpaw was out on stroll, he moved easily from Leafclan territory, the snow on the forest floor crunched under his white paws. He just kept moving his blue gaze always on the look out for prey. but that was just his story for later. He was actually in an adventurous mood, as always but today he was going to head off into Midnightclan territory. The older white apprentice moved swiftly. He just got near the border of Midnightclan and Leafclan. He just crouched down in the undergrowth. His blue eyes on the look out for any Midnightclan cats. He tasted the air, all he could smell was the marking. He just stood up after a few moments. He determined that it was all clear.

The Leafclan apprentice moved into Midnightclan territory with a bit of caution at first but then he relaxed a bit. He looked around, he hadn't crossed over the border at all but he liked to explore so this was perfect. He padded along, his snow lightly crunching under his paws. Thats when the snow started to get deeper. He had to hop to get through it at times. Thats when he heard something. He froze perking his ears he tasted the air. It was Midnightclan scent. That when Cloudpaw headed towards where the scent was. He noticed that when he got closer that it was only one cat. He noticed a hole in the snow. He just blinked his eyes and padded up close. Peering his head over the edge he looked down. At the bottom of the hole was a cat. An apprentice it seemed to be. He blinked his blue eyes at the other cat calling down to him "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine," said Mudpaw's muffled mew. He tried to grab the snow wall around him, but they collapsed under his weight. Narrowing his eyes, he tipped his head upwards to look at the other tom. "Uh, hey. Who are you? You're from LeafClan, right? I recognize the scent. Could you help me? I'm a little stuck," he said, chuckling lightly.

Really? he thought bitterly. A rival tom sees me stuck in this dumb pit? This is so embarrassing. Maybe if I don't tell him my name then he won't remember me as the cat who fell into a hole. Flicking his tail, Mudpaw shivered slightly, the heat energy generated from jumping quickly fading. Wait... "What are you doing in MidnightClan territory, anyway?" he asked. Great StarClan, if he helps me out of the hole, how could I report him as a trespasser? I would owe him. No, I'll just try to get out myself. It's just a semi-deep hole... I can do this. I'll just climb out. He tried to grapple the snow walls formed beside him, but they collapsed as he placed his paws on the side of them, and soon the whole hole collapsed, burying him in. "Aghh!"
