March 2014 Gathering - Season: Newleaf

Cloudfire jumped slightly as an apprentice talked to her. She began to snap, but... for some reason, it was easier to not snap at other cats in other clans. Especially if they‘re not warriors. So instead, she dipped her head and responded, "It‘s a good clan, pretty friendly most of the times. Lots of water and fish for prey. Though as good as it is, I'm curious how the other clan‘s lifestyle is, too." She blinked, surprised she spoke so much. "How‘s..." she parted her jaws briefly, "Leafclan? What is your clan like?"

{Hope is the thing with feathers}

Ratstar nodded to Fangstar respectfully when he arrived and greeted her on top of the rock. "Greetings, Fangstar," she replied, tone firm but courteous. "Yes, we're doing well. Some are still injured, but they are healing," she explained, casting her gaze out over the body of SunsetClan cats that had gathered. Only moments later, Otterheart arrived, leading StormClan. Ratstar dipped her head toward the tom. "Otterheart," she acknowledged, tone just as respectful as it had been with Fangstar, and then returned his well-wishes. "I hope the same for StormClan." Then the petite leader drew out of the conversation and watched as cats began to mingle. On the outside, she appeared steeled and sharp-eyed, as always, but on the inside, she was... eager. She was hoping to see some difference in the way the Clans got together--some amiable shift that showed they could still rise above boundaries into camaraderie.

Her sharp, green eyes landed on Snowsong, of StormClan, and, inwardly, she smiled. Sandstrike had told her to keep an eye out for that she-cat, because he had been by her side, for a time, in the Bird Battle. Sandstrike was too injured to make it to this Gathering, but he still wanted to know if Snowsong had made it out unscathed. As Just as Ratstar pulled her eyes off of the other she-cat, a strange scent hit her. A cat she did not recognize was making her way toward the Pond... and then she was on the stone... staring at the leaders...

Ratstar met this stranger's gaze evenly, her expression controlled. She wanted to ask her what business she head on that stone, but then she remembered what happened last time she'd addressed a stranger that way... Midnightstar had not been too pleased. Instead, Ratstar chose a different angle, and nodded slightly toward the unfamiliar, silver tabby. After a moment's hesitation, Ratstar produced a somewhat reluctant "Welcome," before falling silent, eyes never leaving the newcomer's. She registered Brambletalon arriving, also, but kept most of her attention on the stranger, still. The petite leader caught the tom's murmur, and one ear swiveled toward him. "Bramblestar is it, then?" she asked, eyes still on the stranger.

SunsetClan's Otterfrost had been sitting quietly, wrapped in her own thoughts, when she caught a strong whiff of MidnightClan, and her ears perked up as Sagepounce approached. "Evening, Otterfrost," the other warrior greeted, taking up a spot beside her. Otterfrost blinked, surprised someone had approached her, at all. She had always been... wary of cats who weren't of SunsetClan, and though this has improved over time, she had never gone out of her way to socialize with other Clans. Keeping herself composed, the lean, brown warrior straightened up and nodded politely. "Evening." And then, she realized in a panic, that she did not know this cat's name. 'Dung.' "How are things in MidnightClan since the battle?" she continued quickly. "No one too severely injured, I hope?"

A dark figure slithered along the edge of the clearing, two bright yellow eyes flickering in and out of existence as they drifted soundlessly around the perimeter. When TalonClan arrived, the shadowy feline smiled and entered the clearing just after the small group, its long, dappled body kept low to the ground as it moved. With silent, confident strides, the creature wove through the crowd of cats, making its way toward the back and then sweeping around. Eventually, it came upon an apprentice, sitting all by her lonesome. Still keeping low to the ground, walking as though always stalking, the dark feline came up beside Wildpaw. "What's the matter, dove?" she purred gently. "Not feeling social tonight?" (Avery)

Fleetstrike of Stormclan

He fixes his bright blue eyes upon Snowsong as she spoke, nodding his head some. His eyes flicker back up to the new leader. " Talonclan?" He repeats the name curiously. " Well this ought to be interesting." He says returning his gaze to Snowsong. He was interested to see how the other clan leaders took to the Talconclan she-cat. Would she be welcomed or would they give her the cold shoulder? He knew that Silverstar wherever she was would not be pleased. He glances to the cloudless sky, so far so good, he thought. Starclan must approve if they gave this cat 9 lives. @lilykit

Sagepounce of Midnightclan

She smiles kindly, flickering her black tail tip. As Otterfrost greeted her, she was too distracted by the new cats in the clearing to notice that the she-cat hadn't said her name. At the she-cat's question she has to pull her mind away from her surroundings and really focus on their conversation. The question brought memories floating to the surface. " We are hanging in there." She says thinking of the cats they lost pulled at her heart strings. " How about Sunsetclan? Pulling through okay are you?" She asks glancing around the clearing at the Sunsetclannners who were present.

Spottedmist of Sunsetclan

The silver she-cat followed the rest of her clanmates. She only wanted to see one cat. Desperately looking around for his familiar Leafclan scent, she bumped into Otterfrost([Acro.]). Oh. Umm, hi there Otterfrost. How's everything going? She nervously glanced around. Someone save me!


Smokepaw of Talonclan

The apprentice walked around. This was his first gathering and he was extremely nervous. I hope there will be someone to talk to. He tried not to look at the Whisperclan cats. What will they think of me? He was almost scared of them. What if they punished him for leaving?

(Just a note, Smokepaw left Whisperclan and feels kinda guilty. Any Whisperclan cats are welcome to confront him!)

Pebblestar stared at Ratstar and nodded her head "Hello Ratstar" she offered a small smile before glancing around the clearing, she made a mental note of where all o her cats were. This wouldn't be easy for most of them and she knew this feelings would be hurt tonight and arguments would start. Her left ear twitched and she turned her gaze back to Ratstar "Hm? Do I have something on my face?" of course this could easily be a sarcastic sentence but the way she said it was sweet and serious. Pebblestar sat down wrapping her tail around her front paws and kept her eyes on Ratstar patiently waiting for an answer.

Snowpaw of Leafclan
The small apprentice followed the rest of his clan-mates into the gathering, blocking out everything but scents, he searched for Spottedmist { @sunflash }. He had met her on the border once before and couldn't get the stunning she-cat out of his head. He spotted her familiar pelt and practically bounded up to her, he slowed as he saw her talking to another cat, he said a single word "Hi!" as he glanced over; and a little up; at both cats, pretending like he had never seen either of them.

After deciding that Frogleap was not among the cats from Stormclan who had started to slink she sighed, looking around with bored interest. At the sound of a voice oozing behind her she glanced beside her. To her curiosity was a new she-cat, one with a new smell that she didn't recognize. "Tonight, not particularly, who are you?" She asked, her voice slightly defensive. She wasn't sure if she was friend or foe, and wanted to clearly establish a slight warning to the new comer.

Echofur of Stormclan

Echofur padded into the clearing waving his tail to all the new faces, oh how he loved gatherings! He wondered if Amberleaf was here. Hopefully she wasn't scared off by the last gathering. He looked around, but never saw her. Maybe she didn't come.

Darkflower of Midnightclan

Darkflower padded through the cats till she was in the front. She sat curling her tail, after a while of sitting by herself, she looked around. She felt so alone even in a huge crowd like this.

Otterheart of Stormclan

Otterheart had been quiet after speaking briefly with Ratstar however his attitude changed when Pebblestar seemed to be almost rude to Ratstar. Otterheart didn't appreciate this and even though he was a kind cat with a giant heart here in this moment he decided he had no respect for this new clan and if he dared found a cat forming close relations between his clan and this new one, surly he would not be rather biased when convincing Otterstar that he should just banish the Stormclan cat into the forest. Otterheart wanted nothing to do with this Pebblestar he had already made up his mind even though he doubted Ratstar cared one way or another about how ignorant this unqualified leader was.

but the large cat's face was blank. He showed no emotion on purpose and was rather good at it. He didn't even glance at Pebblestar. To him she didn't exist. He refused to greet her, refused to be respectful as he didn't feel like she deserved it. Sure maybe she hadn't meant to seem sarcastic but to him she was playing stupid. He doubted she was literally that ignorant. He sat in his place though, not saying a word.

Sure Otterheart had noticed Bramblestar but he didn't know the cat well. No need to judge him, not like Flamestar was the best leader anyways. At least Midnightclan had shown up this time. Otterheart gave a polite nod to Bramblestar, but that was really it. 

Daisypaw of Sunsetclan

Daisypaw ran behind her sister and half sister. "Wait for me guys!" She said as she caught up to Softpaw and Featherpaw. She smiled at both of them. For these three sisters it was their first gathering and Daisypaw for one was rather excited about it.

CATS MENTIONED: Pebblestar (Otterheart must be in a judgmental mood today) Featherpaw and Softpaw (Daisypaw hanging out with her sisters)

[Midnight]

"And you are?" Silverstar asked rudely, launching herself off the ground and landing easily on the large boulder. The rather small she-cat's tail lashed furiously, her eyes cold as icicles and claws sliding out like daggers. Flicking her glance toward Bramblestar then Ratstar, she added, "Do we have a new Clan or something? And why have I not seen the birds around as of late?" Silverstar's eyes rested on Ratstar, "Have they left SunsetClan alone, I hope?" The hope was, as many would probably expect, completely fake, but Silverstar was, at that point, desperate to make herself look better no matter what.

She had to turn things around for herself and LeafClan in any way. Silverstar was growing smarter, and as she did, she realized that her terrible behavior would result in horrific results if she didn't try turning it around now, but really, how could she? Change was rarely smooth, and Silverstar resented the fact that she'd have to change herself to keep her Clan safe. Did they really deserve that? No, not most of them. So what did it matter? It didn't. Whiskers twitching like mad, the leader sat down and faced the crowd, eyes wide and dull as she waged an internal war.

Amberleaf of MidnightClan

Amberleaf followed her clanmates into the clearing. The last gathering has frightened her quite a bit, but she was willing to come back if it meant seeing Echofur again. She couldn't count the number of hours she had spent wishing he was by her side, or the number of dreams she'd had of his soft gaze and gentle spirit. However, she hadn't had a chance to even say goodbye to him last time, let alone arrange a time to meet. 'Like he'd want to meet with me,' she scolded herself. Still, her gaze drifted over the others, searching for his familiar pelt.

Echo fur looked around once more, finding a familiar looking pelt.

"Amberleaf?."
He trotted across the clearing to see it was her, he purred in delight. "It's nice to see you again, Amberleaf. How have you been?" He hadden't seen her for a moon, and had been excited to come to this gathering in hope she would be here. Echofur looked into her eyes and wished that they were from the same clans, life would be so much easier. All these thoughts were killing him, all he wanted was Amberleaf.

Blossommoon of WhisperClan:

Blossommoon trailed along, bringing up the rear of her Clan. She sat as close as she could to the exit. This being one of her first few gatherings, she still wasn't quite to that comfortable level of casually mingling with cats from the other Clans - not that she even knew any. A couple had said hello in her first gathering, but after that it was mostly her sitting alone, listening to the news of other Clans, then being one of the first to leave. She honestly didn't expect this to be any different. In, listen, out. That was her pattern. She eyed the exit with longing, seeing no reason in her being there, although she did enjoy hearing the news. Sometimes something of dramatic measures would happen under the full moon.

Amberleaf purred in delight at the sight of Echofur, and was even more pleased at his friendly greeting. Like he was excited to see her. She flicked her tail almost imperceptibly, motioning for Echofur to follow as she trotted off away from the crowd of cats. At last she sat down and wrapped her tail around her paws. She purred happily, content now that she was with Echofur.

"I've been fine," she replied to his earlier question. However, truthfully, she hadn't been fine until a few moments ago. "And you?" she asked, returning the question, her heart racing.

Pebblestar stood up calmly and looked towards Silverstar, her eyes stayed calm and her facial expression was collected and calm as well. She smiled and bowed her head "Hello Silverstar" Clearly the cats rude manner did not affect her at all. Only the Pebblestars tail tip twitched slightly in annoyance as she looked at Silverstar and her harsh stance. "I am Pebblestar, the leader of Talonclan. The birds have died and my clan" she paused for a moment to glance out picking out the few cats that was in her clan "Have taken the cave where the birds once lived as our own." She spoke slightly louder now as the she-cats soft green eyes returned to Silverstar "Clearly you have heard of this?" Pebblestars left ear twitched trying to remember if any cats from Leafclan had joined her. She kept her breathing slow and steady as she stared at the vicious glare of Silverstar.
