As her heart lifted out of the cavern it had sunk into, Vineheart focused herself on the playful banter and easy company of her new friend, a warmth taking over where the cold had clung to her. No matter what life threw at her, she would always have others to help her - even if there was only one or two, they would be there. Sandstrike reminded her of that and for that she was thankful. It was easy to fall into a downward spiral when alone. The company of another made such a difference for her sanity. At the mention of his half eaten chipmunk, Vineheart's stomach let out a growl before her round eyes even landed on it and she laughed softly. "I think my decision has been made for me." A dip of her head before she reached out with her good leg to draw his half eaten meal towards her. "Thank you, I don't think I realized just how hungry I am." Ducking her head, Vineheart quickly finished the chipmunk with delicate yet rapid bites until all that was left was a little chipmunk skeleton. She almost looked disappointed. Turning her attention away from her finished meal however, the tiny tabby refocused herself on the silent grooming of her pelt, enjoying the easy company with no need for constant words. Finally she couldn't see anymore dirt to clean and she pulled her head up to give herself a once over, slightly surprised. That had actually taken, in all honesty, faster than it had ever taken her before EVEN with the immense amounts of blood and dirt. Letting out a happy mrrrow, she swung her bright eyes to Sandstrike with a smile. "It's done! Thanks so much for helping out," a small chuckle. "It's a rather large commitment."
