Dustkit was enjoying the fine day. He was very hyper. He put all his thoughts and feelings in the past and enjoyed the day. He wanted to play his favorite game, Clans. He loved pretending to be leader of a clan. He wanted to be leader someday. He knew it was hard work and came with a lot of responsibility. He played Clans a lot to boost his fighting skills. The more he played it the better he got at fighting. He would prepare to be leader. He didn't know when his ceremony was. It has been a really long time since the last. He wanted to become n apprentice and train with the leader of deputy. He really wanted it. His kit muscles weren't strong enough to be a leader. Playing Clans made those muscles bigger. He wanted to play it so bad now, but with who. He looked around the clearing. He didn't see any familiar faces. He had to make new friends. "Anyone want to play with me!?" he called desperately.

A long-legged, cinnamon warrior lounged in the shade of SunsetClan's camp--one of the few areas where their grassy clearing provided any sort of cover, outside of the dens themselves. His eyes were half-lidded, distant but content, their usual, playful light having settled into a gentle smoldering of mischief. For a day at the end of Leaf Fall, the weather was surprisingly decent, and cats were milling about in-between their duties. The tom had already hunted that day--twice--and thrown a patrol in, just for fun, because why not? Might as well, if he was already out and about. Now, he was relaxing in the general quiet of camp, before his natural restlessness would, inevitably, again call him to action.

Or... perhaps something else would call him.

Like the tiny, determined voice of a kit.

A smirk tugged at the seasoned warrior's expression and he was on his paws in a moment, padding toward the Nursery. He came up beside the young kit, casting a shadow over him before he spoke in his casual, easy way. "That's one way to get attention," he commented, quirking one invisible brow as he practically towered over the much younger tom.

The young tom hurled himself from the nursery with such force, that if anyone wasn't paying to close attention they would just see a whiz of a copper-red coloured coat race by them. Tiny paws pounded the earth, and he barely heard his mother call out behind him; something about being home for dinner. Pfft, sure mom, whatever, the tom thought as he burst through the nursery door. The low autumn sun blinded him for a few moments and he blinked his chocolate orbs rapidly, trying to clear the black spots from his vision. Around him, camp life was buzzing with cats going about their activities but he paid them no heed as he raced around the edge of the camp. He darted around warriors, jumped the fresh-kill pile, skittered around Ratstar, and nearly crashed head first into Russetpaw, but with a quick change of angle he narrowly avoided her.

"Hey!" She called out to him with irritation. "Watch it!"

Feeling pretty wicked right now the tom looked over his shoulder and grinned at her, while heading straight for the Nursery. Unfortunately, he wasn't counting on a great big cinnamon coloured lump that would decide to stand right in front of the Nursery door. One moment he's looking behind him, the next moment he's getting a mouthful of fur. "Ick!" He meowed disentangling himself from the warrior's backside. Chocolate coloured eyes widen as he noticed it was Sandstrike. "Oh! Sorry Sandstrike!" He chirped, taking a few pawsteps backwards. "Didn't see you! Did you see how fast I was going? Hey Dustkit!"

Dustkit was blanking out he had been so tired all of a sudden. He dozed off staring at the sky. He pictured himself in an imaginary land. He was jumping from cloud to cloud. He was known as "Duststar" in that land. He was leader of Cloudclan. The clan were only the most graceful, fast cats went. He was so fast he never stopped running. He never ran out of clouds. He loved it in Cloudclan. It was his special place. He dreamed about it and has always wanted to go there. He was so high up in Cloudclan. He loved the thrill of being high in the sky. He always tried climbing the high trees thinking he could touch the clouds. Dustkit's daydream was interrupted by a friendly voice. He glanced around. "Sunkit! Want to play!" Dustkit asked with excitement. He was so glad he found Sunkit. He loved playing games with his kit buddies. "OOH! OOH! Lets have a race!" Dustkit suggested. He was so fast, he could win. He started getting pumped.

The impact against his hind-half sent the Sandstrike's back legs to the ground, his front ones scrambling to keep his chest up. "Whoa!" he called out, surprised and turning to face the offender. His eyes fell onto another kit--this one noticeably older--just as words started to spill out of it. There was a hurried apology, and then a bounce right back into the enthusiasm that had most likely caused the collision to begin with. "Well, I certainly felt it," he commented playfully in response to the chocolate-eyed tom, nodding toward his throbbing backside. He was about to make a joke, something that involved being chased by badgers, but the first kit--'Dustkit,' according to the other young one--was already spouting off something eager.

"Sunkit! Want to play?"

Ah. Sunkit was the older one. Got it.

"OOH! OOH! Let's have a race!"

The senior warrior smirked, his brow lifting mischievously. Being consistently one of the fastest warriors in the Clan... a race sounded perfect. "If one of you can beat me," he commented slyly, lifting his chin and tail. "I'll be your apprentice for the rest of the afternoon--all day, if you can both beat me."

And what pair of kits didn't want to split a warrior between them and boss him around for a while?

Dustkit had to win the race. He wanted to see a warrior be an apprentice. He giggled at the thought and started stretching his back. He was pumped. The striped cat started counting, "3...2...1...GO!" He darted on the path determined to win. His adrenaline started pumping, he started going a little faster. His pushed harder on his legs. He was focused.

A ginger cat came out of the apprentice den, having just washed her fur, it was shining, her black paws were slick, her black tail tip twitching, and the white splash on her chest glowing in contrast, This cat was Foxpaw, Her dark green eyes were tired still, and lit up with amusement when she saw a senior warrior racing kits, racing across the camp, she ran along side them purring in laughter.

Dustpaw was focused, staring straight ahead. He lost all focus when he saw a flash of a beautiful orange fur. He turned and gradually slowed. "Hey," he said. He was so distracted he tripped. That was embarrassing . He liked her and just ruined it.

Hi, Foxpaw purring with laughter walking over to the apprentice. Are you okay? She asked, her eyes glowing with amusement, I'm Foxpaw, who are you? The she-cat asked sitting by Dustpaw, stretching out her legs as she did so. Foxpaw watched the other two still race on not noticing that they were one cat behind.

Dustpaw got up, "Yeah, I'm fine." he mewed. He felt the pain swirling around in his body. His face got red and he turned his head to the ground. "I'm Dustpaw," he answered looking up. He adjusted his posture and looked her in the eyes. "So, Foxpaw what do you want to do?" he asked.

Do you want to go hunting? Foxpaw asked, she was hungry but didn't want to take more from the fresh-kill pile. Or we can explore, I have't trained or seen the territory with my mentor, Kestrelflight yet she said thinking. She looked at Dustpaw Do you have something you want to do? Foxpaw stood, stretching again, a habit of hers, and looked at Dustpaw, Who do you think won the race she said since you decided to watch instead of a race she added playfully, flicking Dustpaw's ear with her tail Maybe you get to boss around that poor warrior, but he's fast, so probably not [/b]the she-cat said trying to figure out the odds, it would be fun to boss around the bossy cats, show them how it feels Foxpaw blinked, realizing she got off topic, and looked back up shyly, realizing this cat was practically a stranger to her, and for once she wasn't shy at first, but after a little bit.

Dustpaw loved hunting. Sure, hunting it is! the tom meowed. He felt the glowing sun warm his back. Today was a great hunting day. He could smell the greenleaf air. He loved this season. He was too distracted by the great weather he didn't realize what Foxpaw said. He just nodded and started walking towards a hunting spot. He figured she was following behind him. He always ends up leaving thinking cats follow him like a leader. He hoped he could become leader someday. Leaders dont trip and fall he thought to himself. He was going to ct more leader like from now on.

Foxpaw followed Dustpaw noting how he acted like leader, maybe he would be someday, maybe she would be deputy what brought on that thinking she thought I suppose every cat wants to be deputy and maybe leader she reassured herself, she didn't yet realize Dustpaw's importance in her life Wait up she said realizing she was falling behind

He turned around and waited for her to catch up. I'm not the best hunter but I can catch a lot of prey, he said. Being modest is part of being a leader. he thought. He was so eager to grow up, find a mate, and become leader. He needed to start acting like a leader early so when he becomes leader he will be completely ready.
