Duskpaw glanced to Cloudpaw, before moving to sit next to her, gently flicking his tail against her in a reassuring manner, "Mine is going well enough. My mentor is a new one though, and keeps forgetting I'm at the end of my training . . . . not the beginning." He admitted, before looking down at the white female who was ducking her head, then at Badgerpaw, confused at her sudden behaviour. She seemed so confused. Poor thing.

Cloudpaw watched as the other Cloudpaw looked at Badgerpaw all confused, the white tom's heart almost broke. This poor cat was deaf and well she had no idea what was going on. He blinked his blue eyes at the other white cat. He just flicked his ears back and forth. Then he nodded to the other two toms that spoke, he was almost disappointed that they didn't say much more because Cloudpaw wanted to know more about being an apprentice but he guess that the other Cloudpaw being confused was more of a priory then the small talk he was trying to start. He just smiled at the other Cloudpaw trying to make her feel more comfortable.

Cloudpaw turned when she felt another pelt brush against hers. Duskpaw. Her eyes lifted and met his. She held his gaze for a moment with her soft blue eyes before glancing around. She noticed that the other tom that had arrived was smiling at her.

A thought passed through her head. Could cats really like her even if she couldn't talk? More than just Starlingstrike and Badgerpaw? Maybe it was possible. She really hoped so.

A smile appeared on the apprentice's face, matched by the new light in her eyes.
