The ginger tom watched as his mentor effortlessly made the leap onto the rock. How in the name of StarClan was he supposed to do that?! The rocks were so tall compared to him, he doubted he could even leap higher than the half-way point. 'Jump, not climb. Jump.' He went through the motions, imagining how Maplebreeze had done it. Flamepaw crouched, preparing himself to jump. He hesitantly glanced once more up to the top where the older warrior waited. Smirking he thought to himself, 'I'll show him I can do this just as well as any TalonClan cat.' At this thought he jumped, going much higher than he had originally thought he could've. Soon his front paws landed on solid ground, his back paws however slipped and he struggled to pull himself up. After a moment, he succeeded and he glanced up at Maplebreeze, hoping for some sort of praise.

[Icestorm]

Maplebreeze watched the apprentice. He was sure the apprentice was going to say something, but when Flamepaw just crouched he relieved. He could see the sun high in the sky, this day was going by fast, which meant he most likely wasn't going to get his nap. Maybe he could just get a large bird and relax with Briarstar for a little while. That wouldn't be so bad. Focusing again on Flamepaw, Maplebreeze could see the tom struggle to pull himself up, but he did it. Without his help. Good, maybe training him won't be SO bad, maybe.

Maplebreeze smiled, "Not bad there." The warrior turned to the next rock, "Just a couple more." Maplebreeze jumped to the next rock.

[Deku]

Flamepaw panted, trying to get his breathing back to normal after almost falling off the rock. A small smile appeared as his mentor praised him, but then he looked at the rocks ahead. He was exhausted already, and yet they still had a long way to go. At least he knew he would sleep well tonight. The ginger tom prepared himself to leap to the next rock, his sore muscles aching to stop. However, he pushed on and mad a much better landing on the next rock. Hopefully it would get easier as they went.
