Cloudpaw tried to understand what Rosestorm was saying, but with the moss in the she-cat's mouth, she couldn't follow the words and patterns of the mouth like normal.

Cloudpaw, for the first time in a long time, allowed herself to be irritated with her deafness. She couldn't even begin to guess what Rosestorm was saying- how could she respond? She stared blankly at the she-cat, sadness reflecting ever-so-slightly in her eyes.

Rosestorm waited for a response, and when she received none she made sure to catch the face of the apprentice. What could she possibly be thinking Rosestorm thought to herself before catching a slightly saddened expression coming from the young apprentices eyes. For a moment Rosestorm wanted to talk it over with her, what ever may be bothering the young shecat, but then she saw a stupid chance to make a stupid joke, at a really stupid and inappropriate time. Yeah I know, the moss is really stinky, it makes me sad too. She said with moss in her mouth leading to still a muffled reply, and a muffled laugh as well.
