"As a sensible tom I reserve the right to fear for my own pelt" he said jokingly he personally doubted the tom would actually hurt him but he was weak lunged so he was naturally cautious when it came to fighting at least in verbal bouts he could hold his own

The black female laughed softly, playfully shoving his shoulder with a paw, "He wouldn't really hurt you, silly!" She meowed, rolling onto her side, and shifting to lean against him slightly, resting her head against his shoulder, as she smiled softly, "I wouldn't let him anyways . . . I'd be upset, and I'm good at getting daddy to do what I want anyways, remember!" She teased, before licking his fur reassuringly.

Firetooth didn't agree with her, but he didn't disagree either, he knew that if the tom wanted to he'd find a way to do what he wanted under his daughter's nose he was very talented at that, Firetooth would never admit it to his friend though, cause she really cared for her dad

Sootbriar thought better than to continue the topic of her father, doubting she'd ever be able to change Firetooth's mind, although it hurt her heart slightly to know there was such . . . such trouble between the two. Her gaze shifted slowly towards the tom before managing a faint, slight smile, "I really am sorry that you and my father don't get along," Her smile turned sheepish, "It is my fault, after all."

"Nah the blame is mine of course, I was a bit foolish, I should've made sure you went back to camp that way you wouldn't have gotten hurt and maybe we'd be on better terms" he shrugged he didn't know if it was true or not but he was just happy that her father allowed him to keep breathing

Sootbriar laughed softly, her tail whisking lightly, "How about we agree to both take the blame. There is a lot that we both could have done to make things turn out differently." She suggested with a soft, and faint smile, her ears flicking lightly towards the tom cat, "but, it was still a rather fun outing - before things had turned sour." SHe added, a faint touch of amusement flashing in her green eyes, "Though, I don't think I'll be willingly taking on a fox again any time soon."

"I will, if I have to, I'm not really a useful fighter though so I probably wouldn't survive" he chuckles lightly, but he knew it was true, he wasn't a strong fighter, he was more useful when it came to hunting, at least unless he did it to quickly of course, he really was useless...

The female cut her gaze to her friend, before playfully shoving her paw into his shoulder, "Hey now, no dying - you hear me! I don't have many friends, so you're not allowed to die on me and make me have one less to hang out with," The playful female declared, with a strong nod of her head, "Besides, I bet if the situation really called for it, you'd be just as useful in a fight as anyone else."

Firetooth chuckled rolling his eyes a little but didn't comment at first laying his head down on his paws with a playful flick of his tail against her ear "couldn't leave you all only I might lose best friend status" he joked grinning at her out the corner of his mouth

She batted at his tail, amusement flashing in her eyes as she glanced up at him, grinning at his joking tone, "Oh, you'd definitely lose best friend status!" She agreed with a playful huff, "So, there . . ." She stated playfully, batting at his tail again, smiling up at him, "Not that anyone could ever make a better best friend! Who else would be able to put up with my adventurous side!" She paused, before restating, "well, put up with it, and survive it." She rephrased, teasing.
