The Claws
The Claws are a group of loners that share a camp and a piece of territory. They are allowed to roam through any of loner territory, but are expected to stay in the camp, and still hunt, fight, or guard. They have spread a rumor that they like to sharpen their claws on bits of bones and twigs, but it is not true (most of the time). Belle is their current leader and founder, and she is called their Alpha.
Their Camp:
The Claw's camp is a hollow in the ground (sort of like Windclan's but with steeper sides), with a tunnel entrance, guarded by bramble thorns, and a few guards. It is very sheltered from the wind. Cat's nests can be anywhere they want it to be.
The Stump:
The Stump is where the Alpha and his/her Beta sleep. Most of the time, The Alpha and the Beta are mates. It is a cut down tree, with the roots hollowed out. The whole area is covered with moss, so you can be comfortable pretty much anywhere in this den. This is also where the Alpha and/or the Beta.
Badger Set:
This portion of the camp is marked by cat-sized, badger-sized, and rabbit-sized holes. The hunters are usually the ones to make their nests in these holes, because sometimes these holes offer mice, and an occasional rabbit. The Queens and Kings also like this area, due to the minimal amount of protection needed for them.
Bushes:
These are some of the bushes that surround the entrance, with some brambles here and there. They are green in the spring and summer, but in the spring have lovely pink and white flowers. During fall, they lose most of their leaves, which in turn can be used to weave walls in the bare branches. Guards stay in this area of the camp, so they can guard the entrance/exit. These are also used by the lieutenants.
Hotrocks:
This pile of rocks is home to seniors and fighters. In the spring, summer, and sometimes fall, the warm sun heats these rocks, which elder cats love to bask on. Some of the cats like to sleep on the rocks, out in the openness of the sky. There are a lot of overhangs that create shelter for cats who wish to lay in the shade of the cool stone.
Tree Cluster:
This cluster of trees is right next to The Stump, and is for climbing cats. In one of them there is a hollow about halfway up that can shelter three to four cats. In the other trees, there are a lot of branches that can be weaved together to create a platform, so that some of the cats can be up high. There is also some space under the roots, enough room for a few felines.
Their Territory:
The Claw's territory is set on the edge of loner territory, but these cats can roam wherever they please, just so long as they return.
Forest:
This part of The Claws territory is all forest. It is a good place to hunt birds, squirrels, and mice. The trees are green throughout spring and summer.
Meadow:
The meadow is an area that is filled with grasses and more grasses. There are a lot of rabbits and rabbit warrens in this area, which can be dangerous, but good for hunting. You can also find mice in these fields. This is the part that the stream cuts through.
Stream and Stepping-Stones:
This stream cuts through the meadow, with gray stepping stones that cross it. It is a great place for collecting wet moss, plus you can fish in this area. It only floods in Newleaf.
Burnt Forest:
This part of the forest has been burnt, but it happened before The Claws moved in. There is growth coming back, but just tiny sprouts right now. You can find some scrawny mice in this area.
Their Ranks:
The Claws' ranks are very orderly, leaving each cat in their perfect place.
Alpha:
The leader of the group, keeps everything orderly and in place. Settles disputes, and gets advice from Beta, Lead Fighter, Lead Hunter, and Lead Guard.
Beta:
Helps the Alpha with whatever needs to be done, and usually tells the Lead Fighter, Lead Hunter, and Lead Guard if they need to organize patrols or not. Is also the Alpha's mate. Will also fill in for Alpha if she/he is gone.
Lead Fighter:
Leads the fighters, and works with the Lead Guard to organize border patrols and guards around the camp. Will become a leader in battle if the need arrises.
Lead Hunter:
Organizes hunting patrols and parties to catch food for the group, and will hunt as well.
Lead Guard:
Takes care of posting guards around camp to keep a lookout, helps organize and patrol the borders, and works paw in paw with the Lead Fighter.
Fighters:
Defends the group by going on patrols and battling.
Hunters:
Hunts prey fro the group to eat.
Guards:
Guards the camp and go on border patrols.
Queens:
She-cats who are expecting or nursing kits. Kings care for them, by bringing water, food, and protection. Kings are most always their mates.
Kings:
Care for the queens and their kits, who are most always their mates.
Lieutenants:
Kits of five moons of age are filed into their interests and abilities, to a cat in that rank, whether it's a leader or a regular member, it matters not. Their teaches are called commanders, but are still carry out their duties. They become a regular member at twelve moons.
Seniors:
Cats too old, sick, or injured to fight, hunt, or guard. They are respected, and tell stories to kits.
Kits:
Learn about the ranks, and learn from their parents. They have to remember the scent and look of every cat in the group before they are to become a lieutenant.
