Cherrypaw looked up and hesitated before jumping up and landing on a rock. Reminds me of the time when I played shadow cat, Cherrypaw thought with a barely audible purr. 

The tadpole pools was a group of small pools with tadpoles and minnows swimming in it (duh). The frogs were jumping around somewhere near one of the pools. Cherrypaw looked at the pools and padded towards one. I almost drowned here before... Is it still deep? Cherrypaw leaned forward. A beautiful calico cat looked back at her.

Why is there a cat in the pool? Cherrypaw curiously extended her paw and the cat blurred. Is this what they call a 'reflection'? Is this she-cat... me? 

A fascinated Cherrypaw leaned forward a bit more and almost slipped. No, the pool's dangerous. You should have learned your lesson already. Get away, her conscience said. Cherrypaw stepped backwards and dug her claws into the ground. That way she wouldn't fall in again. "Crowtail, how can I hunt frogs here? Its slippery." Cherrypaw meowed.

The large black tom looked a her and moved his whiskers a little amused. "You just need to be careful, use yours claws for a better grab on the rocks they are slip but not completly, try walking around a little first, it will do you sole good." Crowtail smiled pointing with his tail the ground not so close to the pool. "There is safe for now, eventually you will get used to it."

Use my claws? Okay! Cherrypaw slowly made her way to the place Crowtail was pointing at, putting one paw forward at a time. When she reached it, she started walking around in circles, her speed gradually increasing until she was trotting on the slippery rocks..

The apprentice excitedly turned to her mentor. "Crowtail!" Cherrypaw meowed to get his attention. "I think I can- WHOOOOAAA!" The last part was because Cherrypaw had bounced forward and her paws went in different directions. 

Embarrassed, Cherrypaw slowly stood up and dug her claws into the slippery rock. No bouncing. At least not on slippery rocks anyway, Cherrypaw told herself.

The black cat was observing very carefuly the apprentice progress, she had no need to call him but she did anyway, Crowtail couldn't help but chuckle when she slipped. "It happens with everyone believe me." He meowed moving his whiskers quite amused. "You are doing very well, did tiu claws help?" The male asked tittling his head soft to the side.

Cherrypaw nodded eagerly. The out of the corner of her eye, she saw a frog jumping about near one of the pools. They still don't look appetizing...

Cherrypaw stepped in the direction of the pool and it hopped away. Those frogs look fast. "Can we start hunting frogs now, Crowtail?" Cherrypaw meowed.

The black cat followed her eyes and chuckled lightly. "If you feel ready, go on I will be nearby in case something goes wrong, don't be afrais of trying." He smiled encouraging her and sat down wraping his tail around his body to wait for the she cat to make her move while he observed what would she need to improve and so on.

Just like that? No advice or instructions first? Cherrypaw thought. She didn't want to point that fact out for she may sound rude and demanding. 

She spotted a frog and dropped into a hunting crouch the older apprentices taught her when she was still a kit. Her mentor could probably point out ten flaws, but to her, it looked fine enough.

The calico apprentice slowly stalked towards the frog, preparing to pounce. She tried to pounce on the frog but it suddenly hopped away. Cherrypaw looked after the frog in dismay. So much for impressing her mentor. The young cat then turned to her mentor for further instructions.
