Heronpaw chuffs a little at Stormrunner. " Really?" He says never having thought a warrior ever got scared. I mean they are warriors! He thought having always pictured huge fearless cats who dove into battle with no fear at all. but he doesn't have long to ponder Stormrunner's answer due to the creature who had swooped down at them. Now he blinks his vivid gaze rapidly, his eyes sort of adjusting to the dark as cats eyes did rather quickly. He couldn't help but notice that Stormrunner was shaking. " Well I bet it was a really really big bird! Like a hawk or something!" He exclaims wondering why his mentor shook. The creature was gone! Looking around again, his eyes focus on a soft lumpy looking object. It was old and sagging with something coming from inside it. " That sure is a strange boulder!" he says sniffing the object and padding closer. " Why would a twoleg want a boulder in their den!?" He inquires perplexed. 

( Poor Stormrunner lol xD Heronpaw is a bit of a paw full!)

"Yeah. Going into battle is a scary thing. You know what's going to happen to the cats you love..." he explained. "I haven't ever fought in a battle before though," he added quickly.

"It probably was. It's a good thing its gone now," he mewed, not wanting anything to happen to him, or his apprentice. He walked over to the thing Heronpaw had called a boulder and sniffed it. He wrinkled his nose, as it smelled disgusting.

"I don't know... Maybe it used to be better quality, but now it's really old?"

(Yep, but he'll *hopefully* manage )

" Oh..." Heronpaw says having never really thought about it in that manner. " I guess that might be a little scary..." He agrees with his mentor. Sort of surprised when the older tom says he has never been in a battle.

His attention now on the strange "boulder", Heronpaw glances to Stormrunner as he answers. " Pfft! I didn't realize boulders aged." He says chuffing in amusement. He reached out a paw to bat the strange boulder surprised at how soft it was. He pulls back his paw quickly wrinkling his nose a little. " Gross! That is one yucky old boulder!" He exclaims wrinkling his nose as well. Turning away from the boulder he feels himself losing interest in the twoleg den. " I suppose we should get a move on the tour." He says, eager to see more interesting things through the rest of the territory. He could always return here if he wanted. Plus he'd get much more accomplished without Stormrunner around. The tom was a little too cautious for Heronpaw's adventurous personality.

Stormrunner carefully put one of his paws on it and flinched at how soft it was. He quickly drew his paw back. "I don't think boulders get soft like that..." he mewed, curious. 

"Okay," he agreed. He was secretly relieved to finally be getting out of the old nest. He beckoned Heronpaw with has tail as he began walking towards the exit of the den.

Heronpaw chuffs a little shrugging his shoulders. " Maybe it wasn't a boulder..." He suggests as they pad from the twole place. " Maybe it was... er I dunno something them twolegs made." He says walking along side his mentor without any worries. " They are mighty crazy them twolegs so ya never know." he adds as they make their way into the daylight. " Have you ever seen a twoleg up close?" He asks the older tom suddenly very crurious.

"Well..." Stormrunner mewed, slightly embarrassed. "I have. Back when I was an apprentice. I decided to come here alone, late at night and there were some twoleg kits here. I didn't know until it was too late, and one of them had grabbed me. Luckily, two other apprentices were there to help me," he mewed, remembering how terrified he was.

"Never come here at night, even if you do have someone with you. It's very dangerous."

Heronpaw listens with wide eyes as they tread along away from the abandoned twoleg place. " Whoa!" He says when Stormrunner finishes his story. " I can't believe you escaped! That must of been sooo scary!" He continues on, bouncing along beside Stormrunner happily. " Oh I won't" he adds, shaking his head. " I don't want no twoleg picking me up! Blah!" He wrinkles his nose and shakes his head some more. " Gross!" Blinking he looks around them some then back at his mentor. " So where are we going next?" He asks eagerly, his tail swooping through the air behind him like a sail in the wind.

"Good, I don't want my apprentice to be stolen away by twolegs like I almost was," Stormrunner mewed. 

"Hm... Let's go to Sunset Island. but you have to follow everything I tell you. There might be twolegs, but I'm not sure since it's starting to become colder. but just in case, stay with me at all times."

Heronpaw smiles some, tail still waving about as they pad along. His attention turned on his mentor for the moment while the tom explained where they'd be going next. " Whoa cool!!" He exclaims his vivid gaze lighting up with curiosity and excitement. " Isn't that the one in the ocean!?" He asks bouncing a little as they go, his plush pelt sticking up with his excitement. " And I will." he promises, eyes widening even more at the idea of twolegs. " You really think that they might be there? What do they do on the island?" he asks his mentor hopping over a old rotten log and tripping some. Her manages to regain his footing and chuckles the incident off, accustomed to his own clumsy mannerisms.

"Well, I wouldn't say an ocean. It's shallow enough for us to swim across. A brief flash of panic crossed his eyes at the thought of water. He had only recently learned how to swim, and even if it was shallow, it brought back horrible thoughts. 

"Maybe," he said, his eyes now normal and calm. "They are more likely to be around when its warmer, but who knows," he explained. "No one really knows what they do. but whatever it is, it's probably mouse-brained."

"Are you okay?" he almost asked when Heronpaw tripped, but then he saw him laugh, so he smiled. 

Soon, the had reached the edge of the water surrounding Sunset Island. "Are you ready? If you need any, I can help," he mewed. Hopefully everything will be okay... he thought nervously.

" Yeah but its apart of the ocean isn't it?" Heronpaw asks as they trod onwards. His vivid green gaze still shining as he listens to his mentor. He can't help but be curious as to what the twolegs were doing. The furless creatures fascinated him, and he wanted to know more about them. It was hard though considering he hadn't ever seen one and none of the warriors seemed to know much about them. At Stormrunner's explanation he cocks his head some, still bouncing along. " You really think their mousebrained? I mean they are so big! You'd think their brains would be bigger." He comments before tripping.

Grinning after his little incident of clumsyness Heronpaw barely notices that they had arrived at the waters edge. " Wow!" He exclaims looking onwards in amazement. " Were gonna swim all the way over there!?" The idea was a little worrying. but Heronpaw was too excited to be very nervous. Though he couldn't help but notice his mentor seemed on edge. " Don't worry." he adds in reply to the tom's words. " I'll be just fine!" Strolling forward the tom wades into the water and then looks back at Stormrunner. " Ready when you are!" He huffs excitedly.

"I'm fairly sure it is," Stormrunner mewed. It had been a long time since he had been to Sunset Island and he was looking forward to it. In fact, the only time he could remember going to it was when his mentor gave him a tour of the territory. He was just about to take a step into the water but then Heronpaw said something else. "Well, everyone has always told me how mousebrained they are. To be honest, I haven't really seen that many twolegs in my life, but they always seem to be doing strange things whenever I do," he explained. He would never understand the things that they do, and why they seemed so interested in cats.

Heronpaw's words didn't comfort him very much as he began to wade into the water. He was nervous, but he tried not to show it. After he had waded some, the water became a little bit deeper, and his legs could no longer touch the bottom. "Be careful! It's deeper here!" he called to his apprenticed. Then, he started to kick his feet. He wasn't the best swimmer, but he was good enough to keep himself above the water.

Heronpaw listens to Stormrunner's words curiously. " Hmm I wonder why they do such strange things?" He comments as they wade into the water. but his thoughts about the twolegs are soon replaced with the task at hand. His robust form was very high at the shoulders so he was soon submerged and had to paddle to stay a float. " I know." He says to his mentor vivid green eyes shinning as he kicked his limbs strongly and started swimming after the older tom. This was amazing! He thought even though the water was very chilly. Setting his gaze on his mentor, he continues to swim after the tom determined not to fall behind.
