The fresh-kill pile was low.
Large light copper eyes eyed the two small skinny mice that resided at the usually large fresh-kill pile. How disgraceful, she thought to herself, lip curling in disappointment. She knew it was Leaf-fall and prey was getting scarcer and scarcer due to the weather getting colder, but that was no excuse. The Clan needed to take advantage of Leaf-fall before Leaf-bare was on top of them. Then they could only make due with what they could find. The fire-furred marbled feline moved away from the pitiful pile and began to search the camp, hoping to find someone that she could drag into a hunt with, or perhaps a few warriors and their apprentice. That should be enough to get the pile to at least a satisfactory size.
A large muscular frame padded from the Warrior's den, his massive paws skimming the earth below him. "Hawkblaze!" She barked at the tom, irritated that he had been sleeping. Liquid amber orbs settled on her and the tom paused in his path. "Yes, Foxfire?" He asked moving towards his Clanmate. The young warrior had recently been taken under Foxfire's wing since earning his warrior name, and he rather enjoyed the she-cat's company. "Were you sleeping?" She asked him once he was close enough.
"Perhaps."
A paw swatted at his ears causing the tom to rear back in alarm. "Jeez Foxfire!" He complained, rubbing his left ear from where her paw had hit him. "What's that for?" Icy eyes settled on him, and he gulped, knowing that his lazy answers probably weren't suitable right now. Foxfire wanted perfection. "You've gotten lazy since you've gotten your name Hawkblaze. I'm disappointed in you. I thought you were more then a pretty face." She scowled at him, her voice a mere whisper. Hawkblaze flattened his ears, a sliver of guilt blooming in his belly. Foxfire was disappointed with him? "Sorry Foxfire," He mumbled sheepishly, "I promise you I'll be better. What can I help you with?" He asked, knowing she needed something. Content with his answer Foxfire pointed towards the pile with her tail, "It's low, we need to fix that." She said briskly, and scanned the camp again. "Let's go find some volunteer's."
