If you're unsure of what's going on here, please read this thread.
Players of the kidnappers: Make sure to have your cats physically harass Pebblestar a little bit (without powerplaying, please) before they begin to hear the yowls from camp. At that point, any cat that was guarding Pebblestar should flee under the assumption that she won't be able to go anywhere.
Briarclaw padded forward without a sound, her tail barely lifted and curled slightly over her back, a signal to her Clan that they were to follow, but they were not to make noise. Briarclaw had announced to TalonClan last night that they would be attacking MidnightClan, as she had come to a conclusion after the previous gathering: MidnightClan's absence meant they were guilty of kidnapping Pebblestar. There had been no other solution. Pebblestar would not have left her Clan without a word, and none of the other leaders would come clean about it, and one who was guilty was often absent, unable to face what they had done. "Bramblestar is a coward, a cat unworthy of leading! We will reclaim Pebblestar!" Briarclaw had told her Clanmates. She felt their stares and knew that while some were itching for a fight, and for justice, many were criticizing Briarclaw's choice.
Regardless of what a few TalonClanners may have thought, Briarclaw had to have hope, because it was something to cling on to. Briarclaw had been a complete wreck since Pebblestar's disappearance, and she was in no way ready to accept the possibility that Pebblestar was dead - something in her gut told her that Pebblestar was alive. Even if Briarclaw's gut was wrong, even if Pebblestar was never to be found again, at least the warrior had tried. If she announced Pebblestar dead without making sure, Briarclaw would never be able to forgive herself.
And so the deputy had brought along several of TalonClan's top warriors and apprentices, leading them in the night. They went down the usual path to reach the Pond of Truce, and after heading down the mountain for several hours, Briarclaw ordered everyone to take a break once they reached the gathering placed. "We will continue at dawn, so take your time, and make sure to drink, hunt, and sleep enough so you are fully prepared for the fight."
Dawn came, and about an hour after, Briarclaw and the TalonClanners had reached MidnightClan's territory. Having gotten up at dawn, they managed to trespass right after the first patrol of the morning had gone by, and they were incredibly lucky in doing so.
Finally, the camp had been reached. Briarclaw turned and let out a low meow, "Remember: any cat that goes near the nursery or the elders' den will receive severe consequences. We must not stoop as low as them. Do not attempt to kill any cat. Someone may die in or after the battle, but I don't want to see or hear about any of you breaking the warrior code and purposely taking a cat's life. That is not the TalonClan way." The tortoiseshell's eyes narrowed and she was silent for a moment. Briarclaw dipped her head and spoke again, "For Pebblestar."
Briarclaw turned and stalked closer to MidnightClan's camp entrance, entering with a wave of her tail.
The battle had begun.
