The Beginning of Something Twisted [Tagged]

The slick, dusky black form of a tadpole unsettled the water slightly. Diminutive ripples wavered against a larger, white form. A pair of eyes stared into the liquid, almost scorching it with the steaming gaze of purified anger from some sort of being. A shaky hiss escaped the beings throat, it's fur ruffled with annoyance. It's tail lashed back and forth, disturbing a few leaves behind it. Pigeonpaw was it's name, a rather arrogant feline stationed in front of a shallow puddle. He wasn't supposed to be there. Then again, he didn't care. He didn't really care about anything, in fact. With both front paws firmly placed within the water, his back arched in a stretch. Thorn-like claws nipped at the soil within the water formation, his jaws opening in a silent yawn. Afterwards, Pigeonpaw stepped within the puddle, minnows scattering from his paw placements. He then eased himself downward, the murky water licking at his underbelly. With him relaxed like this, the height of the water only touched to about his lower chest. "I should sleep. There's no way I'm going back to camp right now. I don't need a mentor to escort me out here, that's ridiculous. I can take care of myself. They wouldn't find me here anyhow, they've got too much on there paws. I'll be fine." he mentally stated with a damaged confidence. Slumber took over eventually, lethargy gripping his psyche.

"I want the largest frog you can find. Oh, and it has to be from SunsetClan!"

Fallowpaw shuddered. The small brown tabby wondered why his fellow apprentice wanted something like that. but, they had said that it was important, and it wasn't in his nature to refuse a request for help. His large ears were angling every which way, listening for the sounds of prey or other warriors, and his long whiskers were twitching with anxiety. What if he gets caught? He'll get torn to shreds!

Of course, there was more than enough cover. He didn't really have to dash between trees, or struggle to stay in the shadows. It was a ways different from MidnightClan's oak forest. Oh well, it didn't matter, he was on a mission, and the less of a chance of him being caught, the better.

Finally, the sent of frog reached his nose, as well as the sound of rippling water. Fallowpaw's amber eyes dilated with excitement, and he crouched. He stalked towards the sound of water, slipping from the undergrowth with nary a sound.

The strong scent of prey had masked the sent of another cat, and he froze in terror at the sight of the lithe, grey and white tom, though his claws quickly slid out. A small sound of terror escaped from his parted jaws without his notice.

OOC: I think you did great! There's no need to ask for my approval of how good it is, besides, the plot is very loose, therefore doesn't require a whole lot of specifics. c:

IC:

  Pigeonpaw's eyes opened, his vision a bit hazy. An unidentifiable sound had grazed his eardrum. Pigeonpaw sluggishly stood, beads of water dribbling from the fur of his stomach. Once his sight set into focus, he shifted marginally, his gaze locking with Fallowpaw's. "Another cat? He looks a bit scared, I bet he's the one who made the noise. Poor thing, must have wandered onto Sunsetclan's territory.." Pigeonpaw spoke mentally.

  Lamentably, Pigeonpaw's conscience and body worked much differently. He padded stiffly towards Fallowpaw, his jaws expanding in a intimidating hiss. A growl emitted from within his throat along with it, claws digging harshly into the soft soil below.

"I hope he's okay."
Pigeonpaw's hackles raised, hissing once more.
"I'll help him get back."
"I'll slice you open, kitten, if you don't get off this territory!" Pigeonpaw spat.
"Maybe we can be friends? I've never met a cat from a different clan before."

  Pigeonpaw's wiring functioned so oddly, for he didn't know what he was doing. He didn't know he was lashing out, and he didn't know he was being mentally kind. It was as if he was simply drifting within a body, unaware of his surroundings.

Fallowpaw jolted as the tom rose from the water, his fur bristling. His eyes were riveted onto the other cat's, and the mere sight of him kept him rooted on the spot, as if any sudden movement would cause him to attack. This was the absolute worst thing that could have happened. This cat could, would, flatten him. "This cannot be happening. No. I-I can't fight him!"

When the tom started coming towards him, he backed up a few paces, but only on instinct. He was still caught in terror's strong grip, and it wasn't letting go. His ears flattened as his tail rose in response to the hiss and the growl, and a weak, unintimidating growl followed the second hiss.

He flinched as the tom spoke, and felt as though his voice was giving out on him as he replied. "I-I just wanted...needed a frog, I-I...No, I'm lost, I-I just..." Fallowpaw trailed off, anxiously awaiting the tom's reaction. Would he have to fight to get away? How would he find his way back to MidnightClan?

  Pigeonpaw let out another hiss, though it sounded as if he was attempting to suppress it. His muscles relaxed a bit, his eyes glinting with frustration, but not towards Fallowpaw, towards himself. Guilt pinged within his chest, his teeth clenching downward painfully to keep back the uncontrolled anger. "Are.. you.. okay..? A frog.. There's plenty.. around here.." Pigeonpaw spoke, teeth still locked in a clenched fashion. His paws were shaking slightly, but he sat down with a twitching tail.

He seemed to be trying to suppress his anger, this tom. Or maybe he was just controlling an urge to kill him. Fallowpaw didn't know, and confusion slowly eased the terror that was clouding his mind. His fur relaxed, though he stayed tense and ready to flee. The strange cat's voice changed from angry to frustrated, and he seemed to be forcing himself to be hospitable. "but why? Why not chase me off?"

Concern flooded his being, as was his nature. Nevermind the possible danger, this cat may need help of some kind! Completely forgetting that the train of thought he was following now was the same one that got him in trouble in the first place, he asked, "A-Are you okay? Do you n-need something? I don't have to get a frog I-if you don't want me to!"

  Pigeonpaw was finally beginning to get a hold of himself, and spoke in a calming tone. "I can help you get a frog. Why do you need one in the first place?" It felt as if something was slicing through his stomach, the anger beginning to bubble forth again. "Pidge, it's alright. Really, it's fine." Pigeonpaw mentally soothed himself.

Fallowpaw relaxed slowly as all signs of anger seemed to fade from the cat in front of him. He sat, tail twitching and thumping against the ground off to the side. His claws slid in and out of his white paws, kneading the ground in front of him in a nervous fashion, because not all fear had been forgotten. His ears were pricked with interest, though, and his eyes gleamed with both concern and embarrassment.

"Ah, thank you. A Clanmate wanted one, but she didn't tell me why, or how come it had to come from SunsetClan territory. She said it was very important, though, so I came to get her one," he meowed, secretly glad that the stutter was gone.

A sandy furred tom stepped through the words, every single step careful as he moved forward. Golden eyes stared ahead with only the slightest spark of interest. His damn friends...forcing him to go and hunt when he in no way wanted to. Now he was bumbling through the woods without the slightest want to, and it was so irritating. As of now, it was even New-Leaf, and he could not smell a single piece of prey, but then who knew what would appear out of this air? Haha, good joke jackass! The light smirk touched his features as he continued upon his path, before he then smelt something. Cat. Sunsetclan, his home clan, and a distinct, horrid scent. Midnightclan. With a light quirk of his eyebrow, he veered off his usual hunting path, and then heard the tone of voice. Male voices. And one very sexy growl. Oh good lord, here comes the feelings. With a sigh, Sandpaw weaved through the trees, until he found two toms,"Hello, outsider! And Pidgeonpaw, of course." With a cocky smile, he stepped towards the two toms with a wink.

  Pigeonpaw's ear tips began to heat up slightly at Sandpaw's enterence, but nonetheless he kept the same stoic expression. "U-uh, Sandpaw. Hello.." Pigeonpaw stuttered, forgetting his original intent for a moment. After a few seconds of tail swishing, he jumped slightly. "Ah! Um, there's plenty along here, really." Pigeonpaw muttered, motioning towards the many small water formations. He returned to his stiff stature, letting out an inaudible hiss.

The sandy tom winked once more as he strutted up to settle next to the fellow Sunsetclanner, his gaze settling upon the Midnightclanner in interest."Well hello to you to Pidgeonpaw! So, what is this silly outsider doing upon our territory? Fetching some prey? Well, if you think it's right, I'll follow you through with it." With a light smile, he took a survey of his sand and white fur, taking the time to groom it down perfectly. Now, we could not be having messy fur could we? We needed the sexy voiced tom next to him to at least see him as at the very least a groomed cat.

Aside from the feeling of abject terror that the newcomer's arrival caused, Fallowpaw was pleased to learn the names of the two SunsetClan cats. Sandpaw and Pigeonpaw, hmm? He supposed it wasn't fair that they didn't know his name, but they might not care, so... he wasn't going to push what little luck he had. "H-Hey, um, Sandpaw! Yeah, just c-catching a frog!" he tried to chirp cheerfully. "The stutter's back. I'm such a coward."

After observing the two toms' interactions with curiousity, Fallowpaw nodded towards Pigeonpaw. Skirting past Sandpaw and Pigeonpaw, he crouched near the grasses at the edge of the water, waiting for a frog with trembling whiskers. He honestly hoped he was doing it right.

  Pigeonpaw didn't exactly mind assisting a cat from a different clan, as his loyalty was shaky and thin to begin with. Stealing a few glances at Sandpaw, Pigeonpaw hissed once more. "He needed a frog for a friend, I s'pose.. Think we could fetch him a large one, Sandpaw? A spark of playfulness appeared within him. "Or can you not even catch a frog?" He mewed in an slightly arrogant tone. Pigeonpaw turned towards Fallowpaw with a creepily calm glint in his eye. "Don't worry about catching one, I want to see Sandpaw try to." He sneered.

Fallowpaw's ears pricked, and his eyes gleamed with interest. Pulling himself back from the water's edge, he trotted over to the tree he had previously been near. "Try to?" he echoed mentally, trying to understand the dynamic between the two toms, Do they not like each other? He meant to voice his thoughts, but, of course, was afraid of a painful retribution. Instead, he mewed hesitantly, "Er, thank you?"

Sandpaw smirked with a mischievous glint in his golden eyes as he nodded,"Well! You say that now, do you? I can catch a frog just fine, but the question is, can you?" The sandy tome winked, before turning away from the silly sexy tom and bunching up his muscles into a low hunting crouch. The vibrant green grass brushed his belly fur as he took a few steps forward, his mouth gaping as he awaited the scent of a frog to reach his way, and then it did. With a wink towards Pidgeonpaw, he let his tall self creep towards the direction of the scent, and with the green skinned amphibian in veiw, he leaped with light steps and let his large paws land upon the slippery creature, before he left a killing blow with his teeth. With a stretch of his thin limbs, he let a yawn,"Now, dear Pideonpaw, why would a silly, quite handsome tom like you give me such a lowly challenge?" Sandpaw meowed with a bit of a flirtatious tone, before he dropped the dead creature at the tom's paws with his own signature smirk.
