A Great Way to Begin the Day

OOC: Ceremonies are a good way to get involved in the RPing. Therefore, I encourage you to post even if you didn't have a cat with a ceremony. Just congratulate the new warriors or something. x3 Oh, and if you see any mistakes involving one of your cats, tell me and I'll come back and edit it.

IC: Sunstar yawned as she padded out of her den into the soft morning light of green leaf. These ceremonies had taken a lot more time to put together than usual. That or she had just been putting it off in fear that something similar to Blossomwish would happen again. but if that was the case, she had decided that she had been holding the ceremonies off for too long. Beetlestrike was right. She couldn't just not give well deserving cats their ceremonies. If they didn't like their names or mentors, they could speak with her personally. She stopped in the middle of the clearing and looked around quietly. Almost no one was awake, and those that were had just come off the dawn patrol. "All that are loyal to LeafClan gather for a clan meeting!" She yowled, making sure it was loud enough to wake the camp.

After a couple of minutes she started speaking again, loud enough for any cats still waking up to hear. "We have several ceremonies to start the day. I apologize for holding off longer than usual, but I'll make up for it somehow." She grinned at the end of this sentence, her amber eyes sparkling. "If you would step forward when your name is called:

Cherrypaw, Avery, You may be our medicine cat apprentice, but even medicine cats deserve a name. So now I give you the name Cherryfern for your tabby pelt. I hope that you will serve LeafClan to the best of your abilities.

Fleetpaw, Avery, You have worked hard to earn your warrior name and now is the time to receive it. From today forward your name shall be Fleetstorm. I hope that you will serve LeafClan to the best of your abilities.

Spiderpaw, Vinepool, You have worked hard as an apprentice to earn your warrior name. I give you the name Spidershine, for your optimism in the darkest of situations. I hope that you will serve LeafClan to the best of your abilities.

Shadowpaw, Puddlesdog, You have not been an apprentice long, but you have earned your warrior name just as much as the others. I now name you Shadowflame for your fearlessness when it comes to fighting. I hope you will serve LeafClan to the best of your abilities.

Sedgepaw, Starling, You have worked hard to earn your warrior name and it is now time to receive it. From this day forward, you shall be known as Sedgeblaze. I hope that you will serve LeafClan to the best of your abillities."

Sunstar took a break to meet the eyes of each of her clanmates in front of her, lingering a bit on the small black tom she had a growing fondness for. "I would like to congratulate our newest warriors, but that is not all for our ceremonies. We also have quite a few kits ready to advance to apprenticeship:

Hawkkit, Ambrose, You have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to advance in rank. I now name you Hawkpaw, but you are not completely an apprentice without a mentor to train you. I ask that Shadowfall, Sand, take the responsibility of training you to be a worthy warrior of LeafClan.

Owlkit, Ambrose, You have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to become an apprentice. I now name you Owlpaw, and your mentor shall be Beewhisker @makemeapie. I hope that he will train you to be a worthy warrior of LeafClan.

Toadkit, Lionhearted, You have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to become an apprentice. I now name you Toadpaw, and your mentor shall be Tigerface, :-Misa-:. I hope that he will train you to be a worthy warrior of LeafClan.

Pinekit, Wolf, You have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to become an apprentice. I now name you Pinepaw and your mentor shall be Cedarfrost, Lionhearted. I hope that he will train you to be a worthy warrior of LeafClan.

Creekkit, Twineheart, You have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to become an apprentice. I now name you Creekpaw and your mentor shall be Stormflower, @pandya. I hope that she will train you to be a worthy warrior of LeafClan.

Wolfkit, @beamsoup, You have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to become an apprentice. I now name you Wolfpaw and your mentor shall be Heatherwing, @lilykit. I hope that she will train you to be a worthy warrior of LeafClan.



The golden tabby paused again, sympathy flickering in her eyes. The two kits to come up next were part of a litter whose mother hadn't wanted them in the first place. Their mother had waited until the last moment to name them and the names weren't even very good. This moment of thought lasted just that. A moment. Not long enough for any cat to get suspicious.

"Footkit, Ambrose, You have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to become an apprentice. I now name you Footpaw and your mentor shall be Doebreeze, εℓιzαвεтн.. I hope that she will train you to be a worthy warrior of LeafClan.

Tailkit, ℓυиαя, You have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to become an apprentice. I now name you Tailpaw and your mentor shall be Sheepfur, @heron. I hope that she will train you to be a worthy warrior of LeafClan."

Sunstar stepped back to let the new warriors and apprentices get congratulated. She yawned. "Guess I need some sleep," She muttered to herself, taking a couple more steps back towards her den.

Toadkit bounced around Willowbranch. "I'm an apprentice!" He cried joyously at his mother. "Look at me!!" Grinning, he lifted his head proudly. "Thank you, Sunstar!" He exclaimed.

Cedarfrost dipped his head. Another apprentice- he must be good at teaching, or something. Smiling, he passed towards his apprentice. "Hello," he greeted, "I'm your mentor, Cedarfrost."

Doebreeze finally had an apprentice. Well, if Footpaw really counted. There was an odd parallel between Footpaw and the kits that were currently making themselves known as a small bump along her abdomen. Ironic, really.

Ugh. What if Sunstar took away her first apprentice simply because of her pregnancy? What a nightmare. It wasn't like Doebreeze couldn't still train! She would just have to take a break for a little bit.

She craned her head over the Leafclan crowd, searching for the spotted tom-cat.

Shadowpaw padded out of the apprentice den with a yawn. "Up, up, and up." He meowed flicking his ear to a yowl. "Great way to wake up." He meowed sarcasticly with another yawn. His jaws opened as the yawn slithered out of his mouth in a silent hiss. His back arched as he walked out of the den. His brown eyes wondered the camp to see who had joined. Majority of cats were either there or walking over. He smiled happily, maybe he would become a warrior. Shadowpaw laughed as the ceremonies begun, it wasn't a laugh of a humor, rather of joy. "Me?" He whispered as he heard his name. His black ears angled forward. "Shadowflame.." It had that ring to it. Shadowflame beamed, new name, new day.

[Trickle]

Nightwhisker practically wanted to jump out of her fur with joy as it was announced she was going to mentor Sedgepaw. The young warrior did not know much about the tom, other than he came from a decent sized family. She looked around for him. At least she knew what he looked like, that would have been awkward if she didn't. The buzz of other warriors and apprentices and other cats in general made it hard for her to focus on looking for her apprentice in the crowd.

Sunstar stopped inching towards her den and looked down at Toadpaw. That was the first time any cat had thanked her for a ceremony. She smiled softly.

"You're welcome Toadpaw. You are going to train hard right?" She mewed, smirking a bit. "If you do train hard, you'll become a warrior in no time." She added, still a bit taken aback that he had thanked her specifically.

Willowbranch rose at the crack of dawn. Her most recent nights had been riddled with thoughts of "where's Duskpounce?" Was this her fault? Their relationship was whittling down since they had had their kits. They didn't get much time for each other. Guilt panged through her heart as she sluggishly stood up. What if he comes back? I love Smokestorm Wolf, now, just as much as Duskpounce, if not more... 

No.

Today she would be strong, for Sunstar had informed her that the newest ceremonies were today, including many of her kits! She understood it would be difficult to have them all rank up together. 

The dawn was chilly, but still a scrap of warmth remained, many cats fur seeking the warm embrace of sunlight. A good few were already there when Willowbranch made her way out, flanked by Owlkit and Hawkkit. "D-do you think she'll let me become an apprentice? I don't want to be an elder, mum." Owlkit spoke, Willowbranch noticing the surging fear - and excitement - overwhelming her body. She also noticed the use of "mum" over mommy.. her kits were sure growing up fast. "I know you will, sweetie." she purred, with utmost confidence, giving her a lick on the head. "How are you feeling, Hawkkit?" she asked; she looked a tad grumpy since her mother had not asked her this until now. She lit up upon this. "I can't wait! Hawkpaw! but that doesn't really make sense, does it... huh." Hawkkit pondered, turning to smile a goofy smile at her mother; one which was much welcomed. Willowbranch saw some of her other kits waiting for their ceremonies too. She nodded politely at them, and entwined her tail with an imaginary cat, as if it were the kit she was talking to. 

A while later, most of her kits were paws! She ran over to Toadpaw, giving him a loving lick on his forehead, quickly retreating away. "Oh, sorry. Are you too old to love your mum now?" she asked, chuckling. She searched around for her other kits. Hawkpaw and Owlpaw were meeting their mentors.

Hawkpaw: 

Best day ever! Hawkpaw thought, rushing to meet her mentor. Now she would finally be able to voice her opinion; and not be attacked with choruses of "you're just a kit!". What she didn't know, however, was that this was the middle stage; some would listen, others would ignore you. 

She skidded to a halt in front of Shadowfall Sand. "Hello, Shadowfall. That's a cool name." she mewed coolly. She itched to go back to her mother, but after Shadowfall would answer her.

Owlpaw: 

Hurray! I'm an apprentice!  Owlpaw thought, her joy released through her mouth in an excited squeal. She hurtled towards Beewhisker @makememapie. "Hello mentor! How are you? I'm Owlpaw." She blinked her green eyes, which were still mingling with the kittenish blue. She stared him sincerely. "I'm blind." What a conversation topic. 

Footpaw: 

Footpaw smiled joyously, glancing over to Tailpaw, before disappearing into the crowd, off to find his mentor. He soon met Doebreeze, εℓιzαвεтн., his slightly swollen looking mentor. "Hello, Doebreeze. I'm Footpaw." he giggled awkwardly, trying to keep his eyes off of her belly.

[Sand]

Shadowfall watched the ceremony their gaze fixed on the leader as she did their ceremonies. When they heard their name they pricked their ears and smiled. 'Finally, we got an apprentice, now we can show the clan how great of a mentor we can be,' they thought. They looked down at their apprentice when she raced over to them saying something about them having a cool name. Their whiskers twitched in amusement and they dipped their head towards their apprentice. "Thanks,we'll began training immediately. Before we go do you want to congratulate a few of your other den mates?" they asked her tilting their head to the side.

[Twineheart]

Creekkit had followed after Hawkkit, Owlkit and his mother. Keeping close but silent. To be honest the little tom was nervous, more nervous than he would of thought. but as he gathered around with the rest of the clan, he drew strength from their excitement and that of his siblings. And when his name was called, he finds a purr escaping his throat. His eyes shining happily, as he is deemed Creekpaw. He was an apprentice! Shivering at the thought, he bounces back to his mother. " I did it mom!" He says, holding his head high. "I'm an apprentice!" He grins happily looking around for his new mentor.

BeeWhisker looked to his apprentice. "Being blind won't change a thing besides how well you need to scent things." He would tell Owlpaw after touching his nose with his. His tone was firm and encouraging.

"We should go get some prey then head out." He would mew and turn towards the pile.

Spidershine puffed out her chest with pride. She thought spidershine what a great name.She wanted to go find her mentor and going hunting together or something like that. She walked in to a group of warriors and said," blazepelt are you here"?

The ginger tom listened to Sunstar, burning with pride. His apprentice was now a warrior! He nodded towards passing cats. Blazepelt slinked through the crowd of cats to try to find hos apprentice, now a newly made warrior, and congratulate her. He heard Spidershine's voice and used it to guide him to her. "Spidershine! Congratulations!" Blazepelt mewed cheerfully once he caught sight of the new warrior. Blazepelt approached his apprentice before purring loudly. The ginger warrior had waited for his apprentice to become an actual warrior for so long!

Spidershine chest swelled with pride once again. She looked blazepelt in the eyes and said," thanks blazepelt, I gonna miss you so much..... can we hunt and hang out together still"? She sighed and thought I am really going to miss him. She said," do you like my new name"? She thought it is not what I expected, but I love it.

Blazepelt nodded to all Spidershine's questions. Of course he wanted to stilk hunt and fight with her! Now that she was a warrior, maybe he could take her on one of his adventures. Yes! That would be absolutely perfect! "Yeah! Sure! I love your warrior name!" Blazepelt mewed enthusiasticly. He licked his tail before glancing at the proud cats around him. Just then, the call of Misteye rang out.

A blind tom was walking around, looking for his friend. It wasn't easy to keep track of Blazepelt. That tom was always everywhere! The nose and his ears were the only tools he had to find Blazepelt. Sometimes Misteye wished he wasn't blind. It would make things a whole lot easier! "Where ae you Blazepelt?" Misteye wondered. The grey tom heard a voice call out. Blazepelt! Misteye rushed towards the call. "Blazepelt!" Misteye exclaimed. He skidded to a stop as he hward the pawsteps of Blazepelt getting closer. As a cat, you would think Blazepelt was a silent walker, however, it was just the opposite. "Hey loud walker!" Misteye humorously mewed to his friend.

"Loud walker indeed!" Blazepelt mewed, pretending to be offended. The two toms flashed smiles to each other. Misteye never got tired of Blazepelt. Who could?

Eagleshine watched Blazepelt curiously. He was talking to a she-cat. "Wow, she's beautiful!" Eagleshine thought without thinking. The tom blushed right after he realized what he had thought. When Blazepelt had gone to talk to Misteye, Eagleshine made up his mind to greet the she-cat. He approached Spidershine slowly. "Uh, hey, Spidershine. Congratulations on getitng your warrior name," Eagleshine mewed.

[Silvergrass]

Quailfeather dipped her head out of the den, yawning and wondering what all the fuss was about. Must be time for the ceremonies. She thought, before leaning outside the den and strolling over. Her face fell slightly as she didn't hear her name being called, but she still wandered over to congratulate the new apprentices and warriors anyway. "Congratulations guys!" She mewoed happily, wondering if anyone would want to talk to her.
