For a moment Cloudshine was stunned, her head spinning as Heronsplash's words started to sink in. He loved her? He felt the same way about her that she did about him? She had known that she loved the blue-grey tom for awhile now, but had only just come to terms with it when he had gotten sick with greencough. That experience had been enough for her to finally admit it to herself, but her fear of losing her best friend had kept her quiet. Now she could hardly contain her excitement. Her heart felt as if it was going to leap out of her chest and run off.

"I love you too," she told him truthfully, a purr sounding from her. "I've loved you for moons. And yes, I will be your mate."

Heronsplash was elated when Cloudshine said she loved him. A rumbling purr escaped his maw before she'd even finished speaking and he buried his face into her neck fur. And for once the normally chatty tom was at a loss for words. So instead he just continued purring, holding his new found mate close with his paws. His heart hammering happily in his chest, face still snuggled against her neck. Then with little warning he rolled so she was flopped beside him in the snow. Rising to his large paws Heronsplash beams at her, shaking the snow off his back and head. " I think this may be the best day ever!" He exclaims finally finding his voice. He licks her nose, before falling into a play bow and wiggling his rear in the air.

Laughing at Heronsplash's evident happiness, Cloudshine got to her paws and lowered herself into a play crouch as well, the tip of her tail twitching as she studied him with her amber eyes. "Only you would be as playful as a kit after being a warrior for several moons, Heronsplash," the grey and white she-cat purred affectionately. Then she sprang at her mate, aiming to bowl him over into a partially melted pile of snow that was behind him.
