Joining the Clan.... Hopefully (All Leafclan!)

"What are you doing?" Pumpkinheart asked as she saw Redstar, "you're a leader, not a kit! Don't act so mouse-brained, Redstar... Especially when it's my kit!"

"You don't care about me or Maplekit!" Flamekit argued, not even bothering to look at his mother. He bounded away, "Let go and run, Spiderstar! Quick, before the hawk gets you, too!" He called to his friend.

[kiba]

Spiderkit hopped off of Redstar and ran after her friend, tail high in the air as she scampered off to go 'hide' somewhere.

Redstar sat up and looked at Pumpkinheart. "I am a leader, but I am allowed to spend time with even the youngest members of the clan. And that includes your kits. As from what Flamekit stated, you do not care about him. I've noticed that too," he mewed. He then got all the way to his paws and flicked his tail in the queen's direction. He knew that's not how a leader should act, but there was no other way for him to talk to that fox-hearted queen.

[Midnight]

Pumpkinheart snorted, "that's pathetic. What leader plays with kits?" She asked, then flicked her tail. "I'll care about whichever kits of mine I please." The she-cat strutted haughtily back into the nursery.

Flamekit stopped, "Spiderkit, over here!" He called, devising a plan.

[kiba]

Spiderkit bounded over to Flamekit and stopped. "What is it?" he asked.

Redstar narrowed his eyes. He had to do something about that she-cat, but he didn't know what. May he would send her to the apprentice's den for a few moons and give her a mentor. That would be interesting.

[Midnight]

Flamekit's voice was brought down to a whisper, "If we can hide in that pile of leaves over there," He flicked his tail to a large pile of leaves that some warriors had put at the side of the camp to get them out of the way, "Then we'll be safe from the eagle!"

[kiba]

Spiderkit nodded. "Yes, come on," she mewed, turning and bounding towards the leaves. She hopped in and buried herself in the middle.

[Midnight]

Flamekit followed, but ran around the pile and dove into the side, trying to hide himself. He felt his tail still in the open and had a hard time pulling it in with his paws. There! Flamekit thought, trying to push leaves into the entrance. He left a few open spots from where he'd come in so he could breathe. Now to just wait for Redstar! The kit thought excitedly.

Redstar padded around the camp. He was still in a bad mood from Pumpkinheart, but he knew he had to play with the kits. He looked around. "Spiderkit, Flamekit," he called.

Spiderkit held in a laugh as she heard Redstar. "He'll never find us," she mewed to Flamekit.

[Midnight]

"Yeah!" Flamekit squeaked in excited anxiety. "We're too smart for the eagle!" The kit joked, purring. "This game is fun, isn't it?"

[kiba]

Spiderkit nodded in agreement. "Very fun," she mewed. Suddenly there were leaves moving above her. She felt teeth grab her scruff and pull her out. She looked up to see Redstar standing there.

"Sorry kits, I can't play anymore right now. I have to get back to my duties as clan leader," he purred, setting the kit on the ground.

[Midnight]

"Okay," Flamekit meowed, trying to climb out. When he was on top of the leaf pile, he leaped down and shook his pelt out. He looked up at Redstar, "Thanks for playing with us, though, Redstar!" The kit blinked in gratitude.

[kiba]

Redstar nodded. "Its my pleasure," he purred before walking away towards his den.

Spiderkit looked at Flamekit. "What are we going to do now?" she asked.

"Going to bed. Its late," Leopard mewed, picking up Spiderkit by the scruff and heading towards the nursery. She waved her tail towards Flamekit. "You too, Flamekit," she purred gently towards the young tom.

[Midnight]

"Okay," Flamekit mewed, slightly disappointed. He followed Leopard and curled up by Maplekit in Morningbird's nest. I didn't want to stop playing... He thought.
