What are these feelings? (Fox)

Graypaw had finally got away from her sister, Cloudpaw and her brother, Icepaw. Graypaw loved her brother and sister but she needed some time alone to think, her sister was always right behind her and her brother was always talking, she was finally alone and a bit lost at it, all she knew what that she was not far from the Stormclan camp. 'Why can't I stop thinking about him, he is a warrior now anyways he wouldn't want an apprentice.' Graypaw couldn't get Windstep off her mind...she had never really felt like this about any cat.

[Foxpaw]

Windstep's red eyes narrowed, a look of utter concentration on his face. Powerful muscles rippled beneath his pelt, clenching and unclenching as he crept forward on the very tips of his paws. He took in a deep breathe and held it, muscles tightening before springing forward, landing on the shrew and killing it with a swift bite that left no room for even the smallest cry of pain. He let out a satisfied hmmm before picking it up and burrying it close-by.

He got ready to coninue on his hunt, paws crunching in the snow, but another scent blew his way. He padded forward smoothly, surprisingly graceful despite his large body structure. It was a bit of a rarity in the clan, but he could tell some of his clanmates were disappointed with his poor fighting skills. Cocking his head to the side upon spotting the familiar she-cat, he called out a greeting. "Graypaw! What's up?" he mewed, jogging over lightly, snow dusting his shaggy white pelt.

Graypaw looked up from the snowy ground up to the tom's face. "H-hello, Windstep." Graypaw searched for the right word to say. "Nothing much, just going for a walk." Graypaw was glad to know she was still within the clan borders and not out in some other clans land. "What's up with you?"

[Foxpaw]

"Oh, I was just hunting, but there's not too much around," Windstep mewed, tail flicking in the snow as he looked down at her curiously. "You're kind of far from camp aren't ya? Were you checking the borders?" he questioned curiously, motioning to the MidnightClan border not far away.

Graypaw didn't know she had come far from the Stormclan camp. She looked over to where the border was not far away. "Um..no." Graypaw felt as if she should of been doing something for her new home, but she couldn't lie and say she was. "Is that what I should of been doing?"

[Foxpaw]

Windstep let out a soft chuckle and flicked her lightly with his soft tail. "Oh, no, you don't have to.
I just assumed you were since you were so close to the border," he mewed, smiling. To prove his point to the young apprentice, he bounded a few paces up a hill that overlooked the dark, frozen river that border MidnightClan below. It made him a bit sulky to look at it, to be honest. It would be a couple moons before they could swim or fish in it, although there were a few unfrozen streams, or streams thin enough to where they could break the ice and make an easy meal from the trapped fish below.

Graypaw was relieved that she was not in trouble for being out of the clan, and not doing anything but walking. "Oh, okay." Graypaw bounced up a few paces along side Windstep, she looked down at the dark, cold, frozen river below. Graypaw wondered what would happen if she had fell into the freezing water, she guessed it would hurt but she still wanted to know what it would feel like to jump into frozen water.

[Foxpaw]

"You know," He started, a teasing grin on his face,"you probably shouldn't be out here without your mentor. Being so little, a badger could eat you in a bite! Good thing I came along." His voice was light and joking, red eyes shining with amusement. He slowly and carefully made his way down the snowy, icey hill to get a better look at the river.

Graypaw began to get a bit scared, she had heard of badgers before, but she never knew they could eat her in one bit. Graypaw didn't want to be out here alone anymore so she ran to keep up with Windstep. "Can badgers really eat me with one bit?"

[Foxpaw]

Windstep let out a chuckle as he took in the she-cat's nervous look. He grinned slightly, giving her a soft nudge before giving her a once-over, expression mock-serious. "Well, I'd reckon it would take at least three or four bites to eat you," he mewed, voice filled with mischeif.

Hearing that it would take a least three or four bites to eat her Graypaw didn't feel any better. "I guess that's better then one bite." Graypaw looked around feeling as if a badger would just pop out of no where.

[Foxpaw]

Windstep smiled reassuringly, deciding that his joke had gone on long enough. "Oh, I'm just kidding. I wouldn't let a badger near you anyhow, and they're not all that scary," he mewed, flicking her with his tail gently.

Graypaw was glad to hear Windstep was just playing around, but she was even more glad to hear that Windstep wouldn't let a badger near her. "Well, I've never really seen one, just heard about them. Have you ever seen a badger before?"

[Foxpaw]

Windstep paused for a moment, tipping his head. "Once, when I was a fresh apprentice, although I wasn't allowed to fight. Ugly, mean thing. Not too bright either. I don't think we have them around a lot though. We get more foxes than anything," he mewed with a cringe, thinking back to the creature who had taken his Father's first life.

Graypaw nodded, she had seen many foxes in her life time, there was a lot of foxes near her home on the farm. "Foxes don't scare me! I could take on a whole pack of foxes!" Graypaw didn't really think she could take a whole pack of foxes, but she knew she wasn't scared of them.
