This area is very muddy and wet. It's actually possible to sink into the mud and die, so be careful, and don't stick around too long.

This is a section in the river where very large twisted roots of trees are visible above and underneath the water. It is believed that this section was dry at some point long ago, until the water of the river ran right through the trees and uprooted the soil. There are a few uprooted smaller trees underneath the water as well, This isn't a very good place to swim though since a cat can easily get stuck above or underneath the water's surface, but fish have been known to hide among the shadows of the roots for cover. Many cats prefer to sit along the banks of this section in hoping that prey will be spotted.

This is a dip in the ground by the shore that the river sometimes overflows into, leaving a pool in its wake. It isn't very big or deep, and can dry up to nothing in severe drought or if the river is at low flow. It is perfect for teaching kits to swim without the threat of the rapids, or for elders or sick cats to laze about on a humid day.

The Murky Hollow is often used for practicing or teaching offensive, defensive, and stalking techniques. The foot underground is slippery due to its location beside the bottom of a waterfall, and is unlike the dry grip some clans have, sharpening the balance of Stormclan apprentices. The Murky Hollow is also used to prepare apprentices for footing in the riverbeds. The hollow is a clearing with slick footing in the shape of a rectangle, furthest sides from each other being that of the river's edge and the safety of the forest opposite to it. The pines are thickest here and the river is able to moisten the firm, slippery ground closest to its edge. It is often seen as dangerous and many mentors start training at the end of the clearing furthest from the river and work their way over when they are confident in their apprentices.

The Platform is a large, flat, smooth gray boulder in the middle of the StormClan river. Although technically StormClan's, being in the middle of the river makes it belong to both StormClan and MidnightClan, though it's incredibly rare to find any MidnightClanners on it.
