A small shadow slunk it's way into the den. It's fur was dripping red, leaving a bloody trail in his wake. Mind you most of the blood was dry, that is except for the blood on his paws. The prints were very faint but one could clearly see the small scarlet paw prints he left. He walked a few feet into the cave, clearly anxious to feel the warm embrace of his cold nest.

"Venom..." Cain spoke with a confidence one wouldn't normally hear in such a small tom.

Lucky for him, she was in a good mood in the mornings.

For when she was woken by the familiar, cold voice of Cain, she was having an awfully pleasant dream: she watched happily as Fangstar, Dawnwillow, and Moonpetal fell into an abyss full of cats that screamed and groaned and stared with eyeless faces at the three terrified cats writhing pitifully among them. Their skin boiled and peeled away from their flesh, and their screams of agony sent a pleased smile across her face. She turned and crouched in the dirt was Wolfshadow, slowly filling the dip he was in with his own tears. And in those tears, he drowned, and she watched blissfully, savoring the feeling of warm crimson liquid washing over the ground towards her and soaking comfortably into her paws.

This was the moment in which her name was called. The pleasant dream vaporized before her closed eyes, and the sleek silver she-cat rose in her nest, a crack in the hard rock wall stuffed with moss and leaves to make it wonderfully soft and comfortable. She yawned, stretched, and turned, gazing out from the shadows at Cain, pleased to scent the pungent, tempting odor of fresh blood.

"What is it?" she purred, stepping out from her resting place and walking across the dark cavern to stand in front of him. "I see you've had fun."

Cain watched as the familiar pelt of Venom slunk from the darkness. When she spoke the tom simply nodded before stating, "The job is done"

So many questions crawled through his brain and made his paws itch. He'd never killed upon someone's request before; It was definitely different from killing those you hate. A strange feeling overcame Cain as he stood, unshiffting before Venom. It burned his pelt with ice as hot as fire, rushing through his body, heating every crevice with this foreign emotion. At first glance one would see this tiny kit wrecked with regret at the life he took. Upon closer expection, it was clear Cain felt no regret. This newfound emotion, was pride. He was proud. A small smile crept it's way onto his face and an adorable giggle slipped from his mussel. His tail swished behind him as he looked into Venoms eyes.

"Foxwhisper said some interesting last words. She wanted me to tell you to say hello to Willowshade for WhisperClan," A new emotion took over his face, this one of smug curiosity. "Does this mean anything to you?"

"Excellent."

Her breath caught in her throat.

"No. No, that doesn't mean anything," she lied, trying her best to weave her words together like she had only a few heartbeats before. For once, her lie was noticeable. Noticeable, but not obvious. The sleek silver she-cat slithered forward and took a deep whiff of Cain's scent, letting the rich blood-scent wash over her tongue. It was a WhisperClan scent, alright.

but how? How had this she-cat known about her?

Too many cats knew her secret, far too many. Two was too many. Flame, and now this 'Foxwhisper'. Were she and Flame connected, somehow? Or did their paths collide with her customer's, who'd requested the she-cat's death for anonymous reasons? Well, it doesn't matter now. She's dead, and that's the end of it. No one needs to know.

Turning away, Venom continued. "Nothing but the meaningless words of a panicking dying cat. Did you encounter anyone else?"

A delicate tail swished back and forth as large balls of ice stared into the glossy silver pelt before him. Cain watched as Venom chocked, his words seeming to have affect on this perfect feline. For the first time this she-cat seemed wavered. Cain cocked his head as she sniffed the red substance coating his fur. He saw the clocks turning in Venom's head before she stepped back into her usual self. She'd caught him off guard.

"That's the thing Venom," Cain smirked up at her, taking a small, coy step closer. "This cat seemed all too wanting to leave us. Her mind seemed perfectly clear as well. Is there something you're not telling me?" On this last line he gave a mock pout. The tom simply ignored her last question, not wanting to change the topic. Perhaps this was the curiosity of a kit... Or maybe he was just a sadist.

Venom felt a twinge of annoyance at Cain's tone, and she sat back, looking down at him through icy amber eyes as if she wanted to remind him how much taller she was.

"Oh, there's plenty I'm not telling you, kitten." she leaned forward. "And there's plenty you're better off never knowing," she breathed, then sat back again, a small smile on her finely carved features and a little dancing trace of smugness in her gaze. "Really, love, you'd be better off asking me questions you expect me to answer," she replied smoothly, silver tail-tip twitching from side to side. It always did that when she was deep in thought, but otherwise, there was no signs of her caring whatsoever about the conversation; her perfect jaws opened wide in a yawn, and she licked a paw casually, as if bored.

but the tail. The tail was always twitching.

"Do you wish to ask me anything else, while you're at it?" she murmured, sounding mildly amused. "Don't expect honest answers unless you ask questions that have a point."
