Ok, this may seem obvious to some of you, but I’ve recently come to realize that not everyone is aware of the different ways they can keep track of their posts, threads, and other people’s posts and threads here. This guide will be made to hopefully help people out so that they won’t lose threads or forget about posts anymore. ☺
First thing is first:
Keeping track of Where you posted
There are many ways you can do this. If you want to go crazy with organization, you can link the threads to a tracker, but since no one wants to do that and spend all of that time, here are some other ways:
The Participated button
This button is on the top right corner of the screen. If someone has posted on a recent thread of yours or somewhere else you have posted, it will be displayed as “new” beside it. Clicking it will tell you what threads were most recently replied to, but you can also use it to see the last few places you have posted in.
Your Profile.
This, by far, is the easiest way for me to keep track. All you need to do is click on the word “Profile” on the top bar underneath the forum banner. (you can also click your name in a post) This will bring you to your profile page. You will see two links there by your information, one that says “View this member’s recent posts” and the other that says “View this member’s recent threads”. By clicking these, you can scroll through and see ALL POSTS and ALL THREADS made by you, thereby making it easier for you to find your cats apps, your RPs and plots, etc. etc.
The Search Bar.
Yes, you can also use the search bar function, though this often is just a hassle to enter in. Simply go to the “Search” button just below the banner on the top of this forum. Under “Who to search”, enter your username in the “by at least one of the members” OR the “threads created by” fields depending on if you want to see your posts or created threads. You can also choose under “How to search” (bottom) to display the results as posts or threads. This should bring up everything you have posted in. Click search, and yay; you are done!
Finding Posts by other members:
You can do the same steps as above for other members to find a thread they made or where they posted in. Go to their profiles, and you will find the same “view this member’s recent threads” links, and in the search bar you follow all the same rules, except you type THEIR username into it instead. This will allow you to see everything they have posted in or created, organized by most recent. Now you know if they have made a thread for you or your cat without having to tag you!
Finally:
Viewing all recent threads and posts on this forum
This is helpful if you are looking for threads to join, but don't really care about who posted it. Sure, you can fish through the boards, but occasionally new threads will get bumped down, and who has the time to go through every section on AWRP? Here's what you can do:
Go to the bottom of the forum, just above the chatbox. There is a section labeled "Threads and Posts" just above the list of members who are online. Underneath the text, there is a link "Recent Threads" and "Recent Posts". These will bring up all recent posts and threads on this forum. You also can use the search bar for this as well if you put in a "posted from" date, but I find this way to be easier.
I hope this helps some of you. If I find any other ways or you guys know of some, post below and I will add them to the list.
