September 2014 Gathering - Leaf Fall

Members please read: ONLY post with your cats once that cat's Clan leader has posted. For now, only SunsetClanners have arrived. Also, let's try not to post back-to-back, because this makes it harder and harder for people to catch up. For example:

The night was cool.

A day that had been cloudy was now a night so clear that some might glimpse the universes which expanded beyond the star-filled sky. Light from the moon played across the dappled pelt of SunsetClan's petite leader as Ratstar strode through her territory toward the Pond. An entire troupe of cats fell in step behind her--a collection of brave souls who would all fight and die for what they believed and lived by.

These were the cats she led.

These were the cats who trusted her to lead them.

Steadfast pride fueled her now as she entered the clearing, her sharp eyes taking in the silvery darkness. She was the first to arrive. With a swish of her tail, Ratstar dismissed her Clan to find their preferred places, and then she made her own way to the Pond. The leap up onto the stone was smooth and easy, and she sat with her tail placed neatly over her paws while she waited for others to join her.

{That perches in the soul}

Sandstrike strode in behind Ratstar, his expression unusually furrowed and far away. His fiery eyes scanned the edge of the dark clearing, searching the shadows for a glimpse of somebody he knew would not be there that night. His brother-of-arms (and Ratstar's actual brother) had been condemned to the Medicine Cat's Den for more than a moon, now... and Sandstrike was beginning to wonder if he would ever catch wind of Fallowmist lurking in the shadows ever again. With an agitated flick of his tail, the cinnamon warrior took a seat beside the Pond.

Otterfrost wove into the clearing, her pale yellow eyes wide and alert. Her sleek coat of chocolate shimmered in the darkness, pulsing with her muscles as she found a place near the Pond. Sitting back on her haunches, she kept one ear trained on her leader while the other kept track of any of the surrounding bodies.

Ratstar([Acro.])

Pebblestar had woken her Clan up early this morning, she had news of a new deputy and didn't want to be the last leader and Clan to join the Gathering. Her small paws carried her swiftly but she couldn't take very many steps without the thought of small kits beginning to form in her belly, of course she wasn't really showing, just her sides stuck out a little. It was hard not to think of it but that wouldn't slow her down, at least not at the moment. She glanced back only to spot her clan but not who she was looking for. She was sure Snowsplash would join her soon, a soft purr erupted from her as she continued to lead her Clan to the gathering. 

Entering the pond she glanced up to see Ratstar on the rock, her green eyes stared before walking steadily to the rock. She knew what was to come, it had been many moons but still a few leaders didn't seem to happy with her. She was glad it was only Ratstar for the moment, with all that had gone on; the human traps, new deputy and the fact that she had kits in her belly was very stressful. A deep sigh escape her as she neared the rock and paused then gracefully pounced up on the rock her paws landing softly. She toke her place and gave a nod to Ratstar "Hello Ratstar"

Rushpool of Talonclan

The silver tabby hurried along after Pebblestar. Her bright green eyes glancing around as they went. She hadn't attended a gathering in a while and was curious to see how the night would go. When Talonclan arrives the only cats their were Sunsetcalnners. The strong scent of sandy beach and fish giving the beach clan away instantly. Rushpool enters the clearing with a brief glance around, hoping to find someone who wouldn't mind a causal chat.

Cedarfang of Talonclan

Feathery tail waving in their behind him the reddish copper and white form of Cedarfang can be seen entering the pond of truce behind his fellow clanmates. His dark amber eyes gleam in the moon's dazzling shimmer as he pads on light paws. His eyes roam over the heads of his clanmates to see Ratstar sitting alone in the leader's perch. Shortly joined by Pebblestar. Cedarfang's tufted ears flicker a little, an uneasy feeling in his belly. What would the other clans think of Brairclaw's temporary leadership? They already seemed to have little tolerance of the rocky mountain clan.

[Sand]

ooc: well I do that to sometimes but only because people tag me but there are other times like if I can't get on the computer or something that the gathering will have a lot of post and I just give up.

Whisperclan:

Fangstar had made sure that his clan was ready to go before leading them out of the camp and into Whisperclan territory, he didn't want his clan to be the last clan to arrive. Besides he had a lot of things to worry about like the fact that his deputy had accidentally injured a kit. He didn't think his deputy was evil but he did think that his deputy needed to be more careful. As punishment for injuring a kit even though it had been by accident, he had told Wolfshadow that he wasn't allowed to come to the gathering. He knew that the clans would ask where his deputy was if they noticed his absence but he couldn't just let his deputy get away with harming a kit. And he wasn't about to go exile his deputy either since the kit was still alive.

He had never actually told a clan mate that the couldn't come to a gathering as punishes, except for maybe Lionice a few times when she had caused trouble. Come to think it he had never actually told Lionice that she couldn't come to a gathering as punishment he had actually just sent her home early a few times when she had caused trouble at the gathering. He shook his head to clear his head when he saw the pond of truce come within sight and he took a deep breath the tip of his tail twitching. 'I hope the gathering goes well, and I wonder if Leafclan will show up,' he thought leading his clan into the gathering clearing. Leaving his clan mates to socialize he made his way over to the leaders rock not really caring that Sunsetclan and Talonclan had arrived before Whisperclan.

Twitching his ears back and forth he jumped up onto the rock beside the other leaders his icy-blue eyes fixed on the cats below him. His white fur was neatly groomed as always, afterall he couldn't come to the gathering looking a mess even when he had been an ordinary warrior he had kept his fur neat. "Greetings Pebblestar, Ratstar," he meowed coolly but his mew was polite as well. He was usually friendly but because of how some of his clan mates viewed him he thought that he should show them that he wasn't overly polite when it came to the other clans. He just wanted everything to work out but he also didn't want the other clans to think that they could just walk all over him. He didn't want the other clans to think they could just hunt in his territory without his clan taking action or something like that. He just wanted his clan to think he was was the rightful leader for them.

Shadowice followed her leader to the pond of truce and looked around with narrowed eyes. She didn't know if she liked the idea of Sunsetclan and Talonclan getting here before them. She had always wanted her clan to arrive at the gatherings first but Fangstar didn't seem to care about things like that. With an annoyed shake of her head she went off to go sit by herself which was what usually happened at gatherings.

Sunsetclan:

Grassfall had followed her leader to the gathering and had found a place to sit by herself when Talonclan arrived soon followed by Whisperclan. Her eyes narrowed when she saw the other clans and she let out a small hiss hoping no cat from one of the other clans tried to talk to her. She didn't trust any cat who wasn't apart of her own clan and couldn't see how someone could befriend any cat from one of the other clans.

Clawpelt followed his clan into the gathering and sat down close to Grassfall but not so close to her that he would invade her privacy. Soon enough he noticed that Talonclan and Whisperclan had arrived as well. 'Maybe the other clans will arrive soon and we can just get this gathering over with,' he thought the tip of his tail twitching back and forth as he watched the cats from the other clans.

Talonclan:

Palestone arrived at the gathering happy that the cat he saw as his mother had become deputy but also nervous about attending his first gathering as a warrior. 'I hope everything goes smoothly,' he thought looking for a place he could sit by himself. Finally finding it he headed over to the spot and sat down the tip of his tail twitching back and forth as he watched Whisperclan arrive.

Leafstep followed his clan into the gathering hoping that nothing would go wrong at the gathering. With a shake of his head he padded over to a Sunsetclan cat hoping to speak with him. He was bored and honestly he needed a distraction to get his mind off a few things. "Hello, I've seen you at gatherings but I don't think we ever spoke to one another," he meowed to Sandstrike.

Snowsplash of TalonClan

A bit of a slow start never hurt anyone, except if the mother of your kits was far ahead and you were lagging behind like a diseased rat.

Snowsplash was nervous; and that was an understatement. Would Pebblestar explain her pregnancy aloud tonight? Would she boom, for all the Clan's to hear, that a mute was their father? His eyes welled with anxiety. Would the other cats jeer at his beauteous Pebblestar?

All negative thoughts were quenched when he saw Pebblestar up ahead, and he quickened his pace to keep up, which didn't take much. His long legs allowed him to achieve in one stride what others couldn't walk in three, four, even, if their legs were short like TalonClan's leader.

He scrambled along, trying not to think, and if he did think, it was only in rational, discreet sentences. (Just be normal. Oh StarClan, I love her. Don't let others make folly of her.)

He watched with worried eyes as Pebblestar leapt onto the rock where the leaders stood, gracefully despite the beginnings of a bulge in her belly. He sighed in relief, sitting down with an audible thump, offering a small smile to Pebblestar.

[Midnight]

Briarclaw followed Pebblestar closely, and while she was a little nervous, she walked with confidence in her steps, her head held high, and her eyes bright. She slowed down as Pebblestar left for the boulder in the center of the pond, clearing her throat and taking her place in front of the pond where the deputies, medicine cats, and medicine cat apprentices gathered.

It's so weird, Briarclaw thought, I'm supposed to sit here - I belong here - but I feel so awkward and out of place looking out at the other Clans. The TalonClan deputy blinked at the cats before her, knowing that Pebblestar would announce Briarclaw's new position and that cats would be whispering about her. The younger cats would probably be asking their elders who she was, while the older cats would be murmuring their agreements or disagreements with Pebblestar's choice.

but none of that really mattered, because it was Pebblestar's Clan and despite what any cat said or thought, Briarclaw was the new deputy of TalonClan. Nothing bad would happen regarding her position. What were other Clans going to do about it? Briarclaw wasn't Silverstar, so as far as she knew, cats didn't have many reasons to hate her.

Despite all of the confidence Briarclaw mentally fed herself, she couldn't get over her strange paranoia.

Well, the day had finally came. The days of Frogleap temporarily leading were continuing, and now coming towards one of the biggest moments of his life. He was a bit nervous, to say the least.

Despite that, the young tom carried a bit of a bounce in his step as he led StormClan into the clearing. Whether or not there were cats giving him weird looks, Frogleap was unsure. He didn't really care at the moment. The tom was only focused on getting StormClan in, and getting to his position. Well.. Goldenstar's position. He had to remember that, no matter what happened. The cool air and mist seemed to engulf the young deputy as he drew closer, taking deep breaths. He wasn't used to this sort of thing just yet. Frogleap preferred being away, hidden in the back. This was far different. He was the center of attention. StormClan, if not all the Clans, eyes were on him. but he tried not to think about that.

As the StormClanners entered, he could immediately see the three leaders who had already arrived. Fangstar, Pebblestar and Ratstar. He had never spoken to any of them. This would be interesting. How could he explain that Goldenstar was not dead, but she also wasn't able to do her duties, either? What would they think? Surely there would be questions, comments.. everything. The deputy pushed out a deep breath as he hopped up onto the stone to join the leaders. The lanky bengal dipped his head to each, and forced a small smile. The tom kept his voice low and quick. "I can't say much. Goldenstar is fine" was about all he could manage. He didn't want to say much else, anyways. Sure, they deserved to know if she was dead, but it was none of their business about her pregnancy. Everything would be well in time. Frogleap kept reminding himself that.

[Lightningtrail]

Dustfire felt his fur rise as he followed the deputy of StormClan. He was a few cats back, and the deputy was not who was bothering him anyways. What was bothering him was the invisible blood on his claws. He knew that it was in his head, that it was just his imagination, his memories, but it did not help him get over the sickening feeling.

Flowercloud is watching.

Nobody openly questioned him when he lied about Willowblaze and her dying in an eagle attack. From what the tom could tell, many of the StormClanners who were their just showed pity on their faces. The tom had lost his mother less than a moon before an 'eagle' killed both his father and sister in the same attack. It helped that he had practiced the look of terror that would show upon his face at the moment when he told the clan of their fake fates.

It seemed that he had been chosen to go to the gathering as a comfort, but it was causing him to stress. What if there was another cat out there, targeting him?! What if he was their next victim? His skin shivered under his pelt as the clan leaped down to join the other clans. He searched for a place somewhat excluded from the rest, half hoping to be left alone. but who knew, maybe he would find another suitable victim here?

[Stormsy]

SunsetClan

Ravenheart twitched his tail as he calmly followed his leader to the Gathering place. A twinge of excitement found it's way into him, and he couldn't help but have a small skip in his step. He looked at his leader, then was dismissed to do as he pleased. The black and white tom chose to pad away to the edges of the space, so that he could, hopefully, escape the clutter of cats. Of course, he wouldn't mind if some cat came up and spoke to him, but he wouldn't go off in search on his own.

TalonClan

Jaypool honestly didn't mind getting up early to go to the Gathering -- he was excited. The young tom walked with his Clan for a long while, however he was used to the traditional walk. No matter how excited he was for this time, he could never get enough courage to talk to any cats from other Clans unless they approached him first. The silver tabby spotted his Clan's deputy looking a bit worried a few tail-lengths away. He walked over to where Briarclaw was and nodded, a small smile on his face. "Hello, Briarclaw," he meowed, trying to sound a bit more sophisticated than he usually was.

WhisperClan

This was only Cinderpaw's second Gathering, but this time, she knew what to expect, and told herself not to hang around her mentor's side the entire time. She watched her leader pad off to do whatever it was the leaders did and began to scan the pelts of the other two Clans that had arrived before her own. I don't particularly want to speak to any warriors, at least, approach them on my own. Maybe there are other apprentices here? she thought, her long fur bristling ever so slightly. Her eyes now took on the search for another apprentice or two, or at least a cat who didn't look like they would claw her for speaking to them. Her search had no results, so the small gray she-cat took a seat in an open space, reminding herself to keep looking as the other Clans showed up.

StormClan

Smokeshade didn't hate the Gatherings, he just wasn't the most social of cats. He didn't mind talking, but didn't exactly look for conversation either. He mostly came to hear the gossip, as did most cats, but then again, meeting a new friend could be fun. The gray tom was a bit worried for his temporary leader, but figured he would be fine. Smokeshade found a spot near the edge of the meeting place, preferring to stay away from the big crowds and such. He settled in and prepared for the night.

For Mosspaw, however, this was a whole new thing. She may be an older apprentice, but something had always held her back from going to a Gathering -- and this was her first. The quiet, tri-colored she-cat followed in the mass of her Clan, and when they got to the place where all the cats met, her eyes went wide. The other three Clan scents mixed into one giant, overwhelming bundle, and she felt her fur stand on edge. Calm down, there's a truce, she told herself, shaking her head and looking around for another apprentice or two. I hope I don't say anything I shouldn't!

TalonClan:

Marigoldpaw didn't knew what to expect for this Gathering. She could only hope that the other cats wouldn't make fun of Briarclaw...but then again, why would they?

She looked back and saw a tom walking towards the new deputy with a smile on his face. It seemed that things were looking well for her right now.

She continued walking and looked around, smiling. This was her second gathering, and she had hoped she would get to see the two friends she had made on the last one.

StormClan:

Icepaw hissed. He hated gatherings: They were only lame excuses for other cats to talk to cats of other clans. He was a StormClanner of pure lineage, why would he want to talk to some stupid cat of some inferior clan? He walked through the gathering, esmerald green eyes looking with contempt around him, searching for a place to sit.

The black and white apprentice thought that, if he had to sit with a cat of another clan, better be someone interesting. He buffed, he was already looking forward to the end of this.

WhisperClan:

Mudpelt was curious. The brown tom looked around him, searching for the lucky cat who would get his company this Gathering. He wondered if Hawkwhisker had already found a place to sit down, and he felt a little of concern when he thought of his mate. He wanted to talk to her, he really wanted to...

He looked at the TalonClan cats. Their leader's belly looked...a little bigger that the last time. Mudpelt chuckled, wondering who had been the lucky tom.

Searching futher, he spotted the mute tom he had... talked to on the last gathering. He smiled and screamed at him to make sure he was being listened over the other cats. "Hey, over there! Greetings from WhisperClan, silent warrior!"

[Deku]

Hawkwhisker of WhisperClan

Hawkwhisker sat down quietly next to the Pond of Truce. She looked around quietly for Mudpelt, but couldn't see him. 'He must be late tonight.' She thought quietly. She continued to scan the growing crowd of cats for Mudpelt's brown fur.

Frostdrop of TalonClan

Frostdrop padded almost silently towards the Pond of Truce. At the last gathering she had been alone most of the time. She wanted this gathering to be different. 'I at least want to make some new friends.' She thought hopefully. She glanced around at the multitude of cats, looking for someone who seemed almost as anxious as she was to find some friends. (Anyone please talk to her. I need something to happen with my dear Frostdrop.)

Snowpaw of StormClan:

Snowpaw's white pelt shone brightly in the light of the moon. She padded forward absentminded, thinking about Daisypaw and Marigoldpaw. She believed they had all become good friends at the last gathering,  and she looked forward to seeing the two apprentices once more on this night of truce.

Birchstorm of StormClan:

Birchstorm followed the other StormClan cats into the gathering resentfully, but she held her head high. She didn't really like the gatherings that much. Usually she didn't go, but tonight she felt like she needed to get out of camp. 'What's the point of making friends with the other clans if we're supposed to fight them later on in some big battle?' She thought, smirking at the atrocity of the idea.

Snowsplash of TalonClan

"Hey over here! Greetings from WhisperClan, silent warrior!"

A curious Snowsplash turned his head curiously at the greeting with vague bewilderment. (Ah, usually I just blend in at these things. I do 'talk' some, but...) He narrowed his eyes at the approaching warrior. His face was extremely familiar, but he couldn't exactly put his paw on the origin.

(WhisperClan...ah...) His face became hot with abashment as he struggled to recall the tom's identity. (Oh! Mudpelt, was it?!) Snowsplash's face lit up, and he nodded in acknowledgement with a small wave of his tail. He approached his acquaintance with lumbering, awkward pawsteps. (Anything to get my mind off my worry, I suppose!)

SunsetClan

Silverwind strolled to a spot she personally liked and sat down silently. The blind she cat hoped anyone would talk to her she could get quite bored at times.

Poppymask was sitting as the very edge of the Pond of truce and did not want to be here she wished to be back at camp avoiding everyone. but no Silverwind talked her into coming and now she was needlessly sitting somewhere else talking to other cats. What a friend...

Stormclan

Smallpaw bounced with everyone in Stormclan to the pond of truce and looked around hoping to find someone to talk to the still kit sized apprentice nearly sat down maybe hoping someone would come talk to her.

Talon clan

Thunderous dropped down in a random place and watched as cats were talking to each other and a smile pried onto his face... a perfect time to play a trick on someone all he had to do is find a partner for it.

Silverpaw strode in behind Goldenstar and watched her join the other leaders. Someday, that would be where him, the best of the best.

He walked around, looking for a group of apprentices to join, but tonight none of his friends had shown up, and the groups were already tight and closed to outsiders.

Suddenly, his fur brushed someone else's. He turned. "Oh, sorry."

Marigoldpaw of TalonClan:

When she saw Snowpaw's white pelt, Marigoldpaw meowed happily. "Snowpaw, over here! Hello!"- She said, padding towards her- "I'm Marigoldpaw. Do you remember me?"


Mudpelt of WhisperClan:

Mudpelt chuckled when the mute tom recognized him. And why wouldn't he? He was sure his speech the last gathering had been something worth remembering.  He was about to start talking again...When he saw a familiar pelt among the cats passing by. He stood up, hoping that she had spotted him as well.

"Hawkwhisker..."- He meowed- "Darling, I'm right here!"
