Adventures Beyond the Clans

@redwriter Mudkit explored the meadow with great interest, he snuck out of camp intent on seeing more of the world, and he actually found this place he didn't know what it was called but he really liked it Mudkit looked at his reflection in the small pond dipping his paw in a little and then shaking the water off quickly

Maplekit had, at this point, cooled off. She'd been so angry that she hadn't been given access to the territory yet, so she'd simply left off to explore it herself. She decided she'd return to camp later and discover how to do so once she headed back. Right now, she was going to have her fun in exploring!

The black she-kit slowly made her way through the territory, stopping now and then to clean her fur until she finally reached the border and realized this wasn't the border to another Clan. This was the border to some place else... Some place new... It had been a bit scary and lonely of a trip, but even so, she now wished to keep going further. StarClan would likely light the way back anyways...

Maplekit could hear gurgling water ahead as she crossed the border. She then met a river before she saw and smelled a cat up ahead. She crouched, trying to make sure the tall, wild grass hid her well. She unsheathed her claws, fearfully hoping no one came towards her.

Mudkit smelled the strange cat at once and looked up, looking for the source of the scent, it wasn't one he knew but then again he didn't really know any cat scents outside of his own clan "someone there?" he whispered his claws sliding out of his large black paws as he stalked toward the scent quietly

She could hardly hear the cat's voice, but she had no idea what he'd said. Maplekit quickly turned her head to groom herself quickly, before getting to her paws. Maybe I can scare him away... No, that wasn't guaranteed to work. Maplekit stayed in her spot quietly. She tried to make her voice sound older than she really was as she called, "If you come near me, I'll eat you!" It was quite the bluff, but maybe enough to scare the cat away.

He tilted his head to the side "Eat me? Don't be mouse-brained! If you try to eat me I'll just defeat you" he crouches down and stalks through the tall wild grass quickly, then leaping at the she-cat when he got close enough his small claws digging into her fur a little as he rolled her onto her back pinning her to the ground "oh it's just a she-cat" he snorts a little to himself

Scarletkit screeched as Mudkit attacked her, and so she attempted to kick him off of her with her hind legs, eyes glittering with fear and surprise. "Well, you're just a kit, too! You're probably not supposed to be here, are you now?" She was trying to get the most advantages she could. Suddenly, she felt the sudden urge to groom herself again, and so she forced her limbs to have more power.

Mudkit leaped off the she-cat with ease "what's it to you? You aren't supposed to be here probably don't try to turn this on me" he sniffs with irritation but being a gentlemen helps Maplekit up with his wide shoulder "I'm Mudkit who are you?" he asks politely not really expecting an answer.

Once Mudkit leaped off of her she gave him a furious look before hissing, then turned her head and began grooming her flank. A bit noticeably, Maplekit had some missing, short and gray patches of fur on her from grooming herself so much. Maplekit's fur looked a bit unwell, but she was still very vain and thought she was beautiful and would become even more beautiful. She then got to her paws, pondering whether to be polite or mean. She straightened up a bit before answering, "I'm Maplekit. I'm very sorry about saying those mean things. I just hope you can forgive me and that maybe we can be friends... I'm from MidnightClan. I left my camp, just like you did."

"I'm from Talonclan, my Momma disappeared so I thought maybe if I went out to look maybe I could find her, but I don't know where to look really, and Sunstep keeps on my tail most of the time so I snuck out while he was on patrol" he smirks proudly at himself cleaning his own fur and ears

His mom's gone, huh? she thought, making sure not to give him a contemptuous look or anything of the sort, but her tail flicked. Her eyes glimmered a bit as she thought a bit in her head before replying, "Say... Is that... over there..." She noticed a pond not too far away, and she walked past Mudkit almost as if he wasn't there to look at it. Her eyes widened as she saw it-- the pond she'd heard stories of! She traveled across the river, jumping across a few stepping stones, before walking up to the edge of the pond and looking into it.

"You're very rude" he snorts knocking her toward the water with his shoulder grinning playfully "how's the view?" he teases but stays away from the water himself, keeping a noticeable distant away so that the water can't touch him. "So what's Midnightclan like?" he lays down tucking his paws under his chest

Maplekit wobbled a few steps towards the water before narrowing her eyes in anger, though reminded herself to not act like that. She backed up, away from the puddle and sniffed. "I'm not rude, but I'm sorry if you think I am," she retorted, tail lashing. As he asked what MidnightClan was like, she simply said, "It's a place where cats... live. Basically like most other Clans, and it's fine." She wasn't sure why she'd tried to befriend Mudkit, as she didn't have any reason to do so right now. Maybe for some other reason or future preparation for a plan.

"Cool" he said rolling his eyes a little at her uptight tone "Don't get your fur in a knot sweetheart, it was just a polite question" he suddenly stretches out until his limbs shake and jumps onto the large boulder "I'm Mudstar of Talonclan" he puffed his chest out proudly standing tall looking around at the pretend clan cats filling the clearings

Maplekit hated a lot how he said 'it was just a polite question.' He's probably trying to get secrets about my Clan out of me... Well, I won't let him get a bit of it, she thought, knowing that would make her Clan rather angry with her, and she couldn't have that. She said nothing about it, simply watched as the TalonClanner leaped up onto the large rock and made his announcement. Maplekit listened as he said 'Mudstar' longingly. Becoming a Clan leader was her dream... though, she actually wanted to, not like the other kits that acted as if such a noble title, such a high position was nothing.

She snapped herself out of her thoughts, complimenting, "Oh, all hail Mudstar. You look pretty cool up there, standing with all the much taller, stronger and better leaders, don't you? ... but, I wouldn't mind going up there myself..." She stopped a few moments to quickly groom her fur once more, before attempting to leap onto the rock. She scrabbled a bit, but she soon hauled herself on top of it, then gave herself a good grooming once more. She looked out at the clearing, breathing in the air, smelling the faint scent of leaders... especially Bramblestar. They were stale scents.

She let her eyes close, imagining cats gathering around, chanting her name-- her leader name... "Maplestar! Maplestar! Maplestar!" She opened her eyes again, the poor image of the scene fading.

Mudkit relaxed onto the stone "I just hope I can be a good warrior, if I get made leader I'll do my best too but mostly I just want to make my clan proud of me if I stay a warrior that's alright with me too, I want to be the best warrior in the whole territories"
