Oh A Hunting We Will Go (Falcon)

[Deku]

(Here you go Falcon. I know I made it in the TalonClan territory, but we'll just pretend it starts in camp. Just to save me from having to move everything x3)

Brackenpaw bounced out of the apprentice den and over to the fresh kill pile. She had just woken up and now she was hungry. As she reached the fresh kill pile she could see it was running low. She almost picked up a small mouse when she remembered she was an apprentice now. She could just go out hunting herself if she wanted something to eat! She backed away from the pile of prey and began hopping excitedly towards the camp entrance.

[Falcon]

Mudpaw padded out of the apprentice den and stretched out until his limbs shook he was so excited that he was finally an apprentice but he kept it inside, not wanting to startle anyone with his energy so he tried to keep his enthusiasm at a low outer level while inside he was leaping around like Brackenpaw was doing right now toward the camp entrance "Brackenpaw what are you doing?" he called out padding toward her

[Deku]

(Just so you know, I don't think I plan on her being very flirty during this trip. Maybe I'll have it develop after we get this plot going, like when he saves her or something.)

Brackenpaw stopped and looked over her shoulder, still practically bouncing. "I'm going to go hunting. I'm hungry, but there isn't much prey left in the fresh kill pile. Now that we're apprentices we can hunt for ourselves right? Want to come Mudpaw?" She looked at him excitedly, and almost hopefully, with her green eyes.

[Falcon]

(I thought as much, good for character development)

Mudpaw grinned "sure I'd love to come, can't wait to catch prey for the clan" he quickly groomed his fur "careful you might bounce right out of your fur" he teases his eyes alight with good humor the only sigh of his excitement is the rapid flicking of his long tail

[Deku]

Brackenpaw laughed at his comment. "I will not bounce out of my fur. I don't think that's physically possible. Besides, you seem the same way yourself. Is there a reason you're excited?" The ginger she-cat shrugged and turned around again. "Come on Mudpaw let's go! We have prey to catch!"

[Falcon]

Mudpaw padded beside her with a calm air about him "are you saying your aren't excitedly, they should have named you Bouncepaw instead of Brackenpaw" he grinned nudging the she-cat with his wide shoulder then opening his mouth to try and see if he could find any scents through the snow

[Deku]

"Well, maybe I like the name Brackenpaw. And I'd make a comment about your name, but it seems to fit you, so never mind. Pretend I didn't mention that." Brackenpaw was pretty much saying whatever came to her mind now. She stopped talking when Mudpaw nudged her and once she regained her balance, she stopped to watch Mudpaw. He seemed to know what he was doing, so Brackenpaw mimicked him. She really didn't know how to hunt, and had pretty much gone with it without much other thought.

[Falcon]

Mudpaw was trying really hard to find a scent and after a few moments he stops "I think I smell a rabbit" he whispered crouching low and sneaking forward slowly he wasn't sure if he was doing this all that well but he'd seen warriors do it so he wanted to try

[Deku]

Brackenpaw opened her mouth to say something then thought better of it. If she spoke, the rabbit might run. So instead, she just nodded and followed his lead, ready to chase the rabbit if it escaped Mudpaw. As they got closer, she could smell the rabbit scent, so she crept around behind it, hoping that she wouldn't be the reason they lost this prey.

[Falcon]

Mudpaw snuck the other way so that together they trapped the rabbit in he motioned with his tail for her to get ready and leap out startling the rabbit into running right into the waiting paws of Brakenpaw ready in case Brakenpaw might have some trouble with it even though it was very skinny

[Deku]

Brackenpaw looked up at Mudpaw again and nodded to make sure he knew she had understood him. She waited quietly for him to scare the rabbit and then pounced on it killing it pretty quickly for her first hunt. She sat down next to the rabbit and looked back up at Mudpaw. "We caught it!"

[Falcon]

"We make a good team" he smiles nudging her again though much more gently this time "our mentors will be proud of us I think" he nods a little bit "I wonder if my Momma is proud of me" he sighs a little he still hoped she would come back soon

[Deku]

"They better be proud. Mine hasn't taught me anything about hunting yet!" She grinned, "And your mother had better be proud as well. If she isn't, then she isn't a good mother." Brackenpaw could see that Mudpaw seemed sad now, and she nudged him lightly with her head. "Come on Mudpaw. Focus on the present, not the past."

[Falcon]

He shakes his head rapidly "right right come on lets bury this for later and see if we can find something else" he grins a little trying to perk up again if only for Brakenpaw's sake "my hasn't taught me anything either but I've seen warriors do this stuff all the time"

[Deku]

"OK Let's bury this rabbit." Brackenpaw mewed quietly, relieved that Mudpaw was better again. She picked the rabbit up in her jaws and began pawing through the snow to make a hole deep enough to hide the prey. "So, what do you want to do now? Do you want to go exploring? It might be fun?"
