Sweet Blasphemy
I raise my heart and sing
that I won't believe this lie.
I know there's something more inside.
When darkness is all you'll see,
This is our Sweet Blasphemy

Water. Little pools of it. Not the fast-flowing riveare that had once swept her away. but water.
The ground seemed to be seething and rolling beneath her. She could feel herself beginning to panic. How did she even get there? She couldn't remember. It was a blank space in her memory.
Where was she? She didn't know that, either. And If she didn't know where she was, she didn't know how to get home.
Blasphemy!
Someone called her name and her head jerked up. but then she shoved it back down, staring at her little paws.
No one knew her. Not her name, her face, or anything. It was only the voices.
Blasphemy! Blasphemy!
They were all around her now. In her head, she was screaming. but on the outside, she was sitting stock-still, shoulders hunched and head down, stiff as a board. Her fur stood on end on her shouldeares.
She shut her eyes tight. There was the funny smell of the little pools, of strange animals she didn't know, and cats she didn't recognise.
The little silver lynx-point opened her eyes again. When she did, she saw a body floating on the water nearest to her. This time, she did scream, leaping to her paws. She knew it wasn't real, the body of heare long, dead mother. But she still screamed
Today was just one of those days.
