Dark Forest or Just Nightmares? (Tagged)

Pebblestar trotted through the woods not bothering to look behind her and check on Mudpaw she knew Tigerfang could handle him. Would Midnightstar talk to her or leave her on her own? Pebblestar didn't know what she would do if Midnightstar wouldn't talk to her, Duskflame couldn't be trusted clearly, the leader picked up her pace before coming to a brake int he trees and padded out into a clearing. The moon was slowly rising up into the sky as she stopped and glanced up before walking over to the river.

she had told Tigerfang to wait with Mudpaw at the outside of the pond of truce, not hidden but not out in the open. Her pace was slower after she jumped across the river and head tot he boulder, she slowly made her way up the rock thinking of what to say and what to ask. Her mind raced as she sat down and looked up into the sky. She breathed in deeply "Midnightstar.. I need your help.." her voice was soft as a small breeze ruffled her fur.

Tigerfang pounced up easily, making his way to where he thought was a good place. Pebblestar had made this request of him, so even if he thought Mudpaw was helpless, he would do it anyways. "Come on Mudpaw!" He hissed, turning and rolling his eyes before stopping and sitting down next to a tree. Not hidden. Not out in the open. He wasn't thrilled to be here, but it was important. Anything Pebblestar trusted him to do he took very seriously.

Mudpaw followed silently laying down a little bit away from Tigerfang and resting his head on his paws, almost at once his eyes slid closed, showing just how tired the large apprentice really was, and very quickly his breathing starts to pant a little as he is dragged back into the dark forest of his nightmares wandering lost through the dead trees following the voice of his own blood

[Midnight]

Midnightstar had been hunting in StarClan's sublime territory. The trees were constantly full, lush, and the undergrowth was bright, the sun almost always shining.

Unfortunately, there had to be interruption. When Pebblestar spoke down below, it reached Midnightstar's ears, and she whipped around, dashing through StarClan territory to reach the massive clearing where cats generally arrived during their visit to the Skyfield. She'd been summoned, even if she wasn't very happy about it. It seemed like Midnightstar was always the one to fix other Clans' problems, and even though every cat was united in StarClan, it still bugged her from time to time.

"Greetings, Pebblestar." Midnightstar said, touching her nose to Pebblestar's. There was confusion in her eyes - there wasn't any sort of prophecy for Pebblestar and TalonClan didn't seem to be completely dying off, so what was the reason for this meeting? "What seems to be the problem?"

[Clemintine]

Pebblestar squinted her eyes closed as the StarClan cat touched her nose to her own, she opened her green eyes and stared at the cat. "Midnightstar.. Sorry to have bothered you, I have an apprentice" her tail naturally flicked in the direction where Tigerfang and Mudpaw sat in wait. "This apprentice speaks of dark nightmares, a cat visits him and kills him every night..." As Pebblestar spoke her mind raced with what this could mean and what the outcome could be, a small question rose in her head, what if they were just silly nightmares and now she had disturbed Midnightstar for them? Now the leader spoke the words that the apprentice had told her the strange cat told him

"filthy half clan scum you know what happens to your kind here... they die... Help me help you they wont be there help me help you they won't see"

She stared at Midnightstar "Do you think it's the Dark Forest? Only a few cats know about this and they are scared of what this apprentice might do.." Pebblestar understood he was just and apprentice but even apprentices could do horrific things.

[CaℳI]

Tigerfang sighed as he looked around the pond of truce, stopping for a moment to glare over towards Mudpaw. He turned back in time to do a double take. What is he doing now? Ugh. Does this ever end? He took a step closer to Mudpaw, pushing against him with his paw, "Mudpaw. Wake up. You're having nightmares." He stopped for a second, squinting his eyes and studying the apprentice that he once thought of as a little brother type of cat. What had happened? Why couldn't he break through to Mudpaw. It always seemed that the young apprentice had looked up to Tigerfang, so the large tabby tom was at a complete loss for what had happened with that. He spoke, trying to be soft and gentle in an attempt to wake the cat up and ease whatever was going on in his mind, "Mudpaw, wake up young one. Whatever is happening isn't real. It's going to be alright." He sighed silently, glancing around for any signs of Pebblestar.

[Falcon]

Mudpaw jerked awake like he was electrocuted jumping up his eyes wild and dim, his claws sliding out as if ready to slash at the dark figure of his dreams, it takes him a few seconds to remember he is then he lays back down with a yawn his eyes drooping slightly, but not quite closing

[Midnight]

To Midnightstar, this story sounded rather familiar, and she wondered where she'd heard it before.

Ah, yes, Duskflame was telling Pebblestar why this was not long ago. Settling down, Midnightstar wrapped her tail around her body, letting it rest atop her forepaws. Looking exhausted, irritated, and a bit bored, Midnightstar slowly replied with narrowed eyes, "Well, Pebblestar, there is a cat who knows about this nightmare situation, and that cat warned you of it. This cat also had kittens in a position in which no cat should have kittens. I'm wondering what she's doing still in this high position if she's so inept so as to give birth to kits when she's known practically all her life that it is against the code of her duties within the Clan." Midnightstar looked away from Pebblestar, beginning to wash a paw, then she gave a sort of "but that's none of my business" look to the TalonClan leader.

"One should always look within their Clan and themselves before approaching StarClan. We can only do so much, and there are many things we must keep secret, for the Clans must survive mostly on their own. You are never alone, StarClan is always with you, but we cannot push every piece of fresh-kill to you, so to speak."

[Clemintine]

Pebblestars ears laid back like she was being scolded by her mother, only this was worst, she was being scolded by Starclan. Surely Midnightstar knew about Mossthorn, Pebblestar didn't dare try to explain herself she simply kept her ears flat against her head and tucked her tail tightly around her. She glanced down as Midnightstar questioned why Duskflame was still in a high position, her tail twitched nervously as she continued to get scolded.

"We cannot push every piece of fresh-kill to you, so to speak."

Pebblestar nodded her head slowly agreeing with Midnightstar, she sighed quietly before glancing back up at the StarClanner "What is to be done about the Apprentices nightmares?" she stiffened feeling as if Midnightstar would whack her for even asking.

[Midnight]

"Kill him," Midnightstar responded dryly, not a bit of interest left in her. She rolled on to her back and began swatting playfully at a butterfly, paws curled up happily in the warmth, tail lashing playfully.

"I don't honestly know. Talk to the cat I was hinting at before. There's nothing we can do unless it's the Dark Forest, and that would mean going to the Dark Forest, picking a fight with every cat there, and hoping to make it out alive." Midnightstar responded seriously, not even bothering to look at Pebblestar. The butterfly had flown away, leaving Midnightstar staring up at the bright blue sky, the sun shining in her eyes.

Pebblestars eyes narrowed and her ear twitched in annoyance, was Midnightstar seriously playing with a butterfly... "Midnightstar I can't kill him.." she thought about it for a moment...well.. no, no. I can't. She rolled her eyes and sighed "How do I get to the dark forest? Do I need Duskflames help? Does she even have that power anymore?" Midnightstar was giving her short answers that wasn't helping her. Pebblestar glanced up as the beautiful butterfly the Starclanner was playing with fluttered away.

her ear twitched and she glanced over at the bushes "oi.. Tigerfang do you see this.. she was playing with a butterfly..' Pebblestars eyes narrowed and her ear twitched in annoyance again but she had a playful look in her eye, Midnightstar was something else.

[Midnight]

"Sorry, when I meant 'we', I meant StarClan. You can't go to the Dark Forest. We can cross into their territory, but they cannot come into our territory. If we cross over, we can come back, but like I said, we'd have to actually make it back. I'm not sure that sending an army of StarClan cats to the Dark Forest all because of one apprentice's nightmares that may or may not have to do with the Dark Forest is a good idea. Really, that would be like starting a meal and not finishing it. Waste of time." Midnightstar's mouth watered as she spoke. Boy, was she hungry, but for as long as Pebblestar was there, the old MidnightClan leader would be unable to eat. Midnightstar slowly looked over at Pebblestar, wondering if they were done yet. Her eyes were narrowed and there was a serious look on her face.

Time seemed to stand still.

Would Pebblestar ever be finished asking her questions? Would Midnightstar ever be able to eat again? When would Mudpaw's nightmares end?
