Ice in the Clearing (Rose)

[Icestorm]

Icestorm welcomed the cool wind of the leaf-fall day as she made her way to the clearing, careful not to disturb her kits or the other queens in the nursery. The pain in her stomach was still acting up, but she decided that she needed to keep herself moving. She found on the cooler days the more she stayed still the worse the pain was.

Out in the clearing she could see the daily lives of others. Everything seemed so normal, so ordinary yet, Icestorm found it peaceful and comforting. Loudheart was missing and her heart ached for him. The one cat in the clan that seemed to look past her temper, her wit who found her insecurities and tried to help. Always helping her. She needed him. Every time she looked at her kits, she saw him. It wasn't a bad thing really, just made her miss him more. She sat herself down not too far from nursery. Her tail wrapping around her paws. Thinking about her family.

The silvery-white flash of fur weaved through the Birch trees of the forest, bright forest green eyes staring out at his objective location. Once in awhile he would glance around at the spectrum of of reds, yellows, and oranges, with a rare dark purple mixed in there once in awhile. He loved Leaf-Fall, though it was mostly because of the bright, beautiful colors and cool breeze that would not make him shiver. Though there were not as much prey as he would like, the scenery was what always usually caught his attention and love for specifically Leaf-Bare, of all seasons and climates. Though the only thing truthfully bad about Leaf-Fall that Leaf-Bare came soon after the beautiful season, all leaves falling to the ground and becoming brown and crippled, then the layers of freezing snow would come, all the mouth-watering prey burying themselves in there burrows. His average sized paws thudding softly against the ground, the young apprentice slipping through the entrance, into the calm camp.

Wolfpaw nodded to any cat he saw, but he saw one queen in particular he had never really interacted with, or who had interacted with himself. His white paws taking him to the queen, he stood next to her for a split second before asking,"May I sit here, Icestorm?" He meowed, his voice still innocent from his few moons of life, and his voice not being as deep as a normal warrior. The grey-brown mark on his head made him look even more original, not being as pure white as some of his siblings, nor being a grey-brown pelted cat either. His green eyes staring into Icestorm with fierce innocence and determination. No one could say Wolfpaw was guilty of any crime, the average sized tom being the most innocent a cat could be. Especially since he had never gone into a battle of any kind.

Icestorm was surprised by the sudden company of a small tom. She looked to the apprentice, Wolfpaw if she remember correctly. Who was she to deny an apprentice to sit by her. "Go ahead Wolfpaw, I see no reason other wise," she said with a smile. Young cats were always easy for her to be around, her temper always seemed better around them, her insecurities are smaller and her tongue always seemed kinder. "How are you today," she asked with a motherly smile, "And your training?"

"Thanks Icestorm!" He meowed happily, settling down comfortably next to the queen. Staring up to her with his vibrant green eyes, he flicked his ears, before mentally reviewing his chores he needed to do. Snapping out of his thoughts as she spoke to him directly,"Oh, I'm doing great, thank you! And, training is going pretty well, though my mentor has not taking me out in awhile." The silvery-white tom replied simply, his smile very bright."So, how have you been, Icestorm?" He asked with a glow in his green eyes as he stared up at her.
