Beightblossom glanced around the camp from the nursery entrance, watching a handful of the older kits who were playing around. It was a normal day for her, helping around the nurery, keeping an eye on the kits who where as wild as some of the younger apprentices now that they were old enough to have all that energy. As a life-long queen, it was her job to help anywhere she was needed in the nursery. Help new mothers take care of kits. Be a babysitter, when needed. What ever she was asked to do, she readily did (call it preparing for the chance for her to have kits of her own - should the chance ever be given to the female. She smiled as a few kits tussled around, a few other content to just lay in the sun and relax - but it was the few that were trying to go further than they should that concerned the female the most. She would occasionally have to go, pick them up, take them back to the entrance, and remind them that they couldn't go to far. To stay in her eye sight. The few that hadn't learned their lessons had recently been sent back into the nursery until they were ready to listen to rules and not get in trouble. As a result, the remaining kits where making her afternoon a calm one, but one could surround herself with youngin's for only so long . . . and the female was already missing adult conversations.

Ivyheart shook off her tabby pelt. She was chilling around camp because she only told Goldenpaw that they would do some fighting training later that evening. Plus they needed to practice some night stalking as well. Ivyheart just glanced towards the nursery she wondered how her sister was doing. Just the other day Ivyheart meet one of her nephews. She had a few more kits to offically meet but that could happen another day the warrior guessed. She wondered what it was like to be a queen sometimes. With that thought she went back to her conversation with Tigerfang when she had to be his apprentice for they day. With him telling her that he would never have kits. She reassured him that he would but now Ivyheart was feeling the way he was. Seeing Quailtail having kits made it more of a reality that she didn't have a mate or kits. Even though she had no idea who the father of her sister's kits were. She then glanced down at the kits that were playing. She didn't see Vinekit or his siblings then the tabby looked up at the Queen that was watching the kits. Ivyheart easily put a name to the face it was Brightblossom. Ivyheart could tell just by looking at the Queen's face that she was looking for someone to talk to. Ivyheart really didn't understand how a cat could be a permeant Queen, the life just sounded boring. With Ivyheart's personality it would be hard to be around kits all the time. The warrior padded up to the Queen anyway thinking I don't have anything better to do. Then Ivyheart smiled at Brightblossom and said, "Hello Brightblossom. Are the kits behaving themselves today?"

The queen looked up in surprise at the sound of a voice, before smiling back at Ivyheart, her expression kind and welcoming, "Hello, Ivyheart. Lovely day, isn't it?" She meowed back before laughing and looking towards some of the older kits with a nod, "Most of them. A few troublemakers are currently 'banished' to the nursery until they are willing to behave enough not to wander to far, or refuse to listen to me. It's hard to imagine a good portion of them will be apprentices soon. I'll miss them dearly, that's for sure." The Queen meowed with a tiny shake of her head before smiling up at the other cat, "And, how is your day going, if I might ask. The weather is lovely, what with the sun shining. I'll miss it when leaf-bare hits."

Ivyheart noticed that Brightblossom looked at her with a bit of surprise. Ivyheart just flicked her ears forward slightly. She just had warmth in her bright green eyes and she smiled. And nodded to the queen before sitting down next to her. The tabby curled her tail around her paws and she just watched Brightblossom. She just smiled and looked at the kits that she was talking about. The tabby just watched the kits play. Then she at the queen when she asked her about her day. Ivyheart was easy to reply, "My day is going just fine. A bit crazy with leafbare coming up." Then Ivyheart looked up at the sky seeing the sun, "I have a feeling that its our last sunny day before leafbare."

The she-cat smiled softly at the other, watching her as she sat down. The queen looked back at the kits as the other spoke, making sure to keep an eye on them, "I'm definitely not looking forward to Leafbare. It gets so cold. I worry about the kits constantly. Especially this high up." She responded, looking back at the other, "Oh, don't jinx it Ivyheart! I enjoy the sunlight, I want many more days of it, actually!" She declared with a laugh.

Ivyheart just smiled at the queen and then she just watched them as they played. Ivyheart wished that life was that easy just playing all day but it wasn't. The tabby warrior almost missed the life as a kit. She was watching them as Brightblossom spoke, then she glanced at the queen. She wondered how Quailtail was fitting in with the other queens, but she didn't really feel like asking this queen that. Then lvyheart purred slightly then laughed the the other cat, "My bad Brightblossom."

The queen chuckled softly, smiling at Ivyheart, with a gentle shake of her head, "We'll just have to hope you didn't jinx it. Maybe with luck the snow won't be so bad this season." She meowed gently, using her tail to guide a few playing kits away from a wall when they almost ran into it, the reaction instinctual, despite the fact her attention had been on the other feline, not the kits, going to show just how intuned the female was to the actions of the kittens.

Ivyheart just smiled slightly at the queen. He really wondered why Brightblossom was a queen. She knew that the cat did not have a mate or kits, well that the warrior knew of. Plus she wondered why her sister Yellowflower just became a queen herself, she thought about her identical sister. She just shook the thought away she didn't have time to worry about them right now, she was in her own messes that she had to clean up first before she helped them. She just watched at the cat turned and watched the kits. Ivyheart had no idea how she dealt with kits every day. She just asked Brightblossom, "Why did you decided to give up life as a warrior?"

The she-cat was surprised by the question, turning to look at the female before smiling softly, "I never really gave it up. I was never, truly, a warrior to begin with. I went from apprentice hood straight to being a queen. I didn't really pass my apprenticeship though. Hurting other cats, killing animals, even for food. It broke my heart ot cause something else pain. but I was excellent with the other queens and kits." She laughed, a soft sound, "I'm getting better at fighting though. One of the warriors have been teaching me to defend myself a bit better." She added, with an assuring smile. "but I just feel that my place is here, in the nursery."

Ivyheart could tell that the queen was surprised by her question. And well the tabby was expecting that, but she was curious about who her clan mates were. Ever since she had her day as an apprentice with Tigerfang, she realized that she really didn't know any of her clan mates well other than her sisters and well now him of course. Ivyheart realized that she needed more friends in the clan, because if she wanted to be a good and loyal warrior to Talonclan she needed to know who she was being loyal with. She watched the queen as she spoke and Ivyheart just nodded understanding what the she-cat was saying. It was true that warrior life wasn't for everyone. She just smiled at the queen and said, "Sorry for the such direct question. I was just curious." Then she shrugged and looked back at the kits and she smiled lightly at them. "Thats great that some of the warrior have been able to help you!"

The female nodded gently with a soft smile, "It's alright, I don't mind questions. Truly. I'm just glad to have been able to give you a good answer." She teased, before smiling, "Curiosity was never a bad thing." She added with a warm smile, her gaze following the other's to the kits, "I'm truly grateful to Ashnight, willing to put up with my blunders and help me anyways." She meowed softly with a small smile.

Ivyheart was glad that Brightblossom wasn't offended by her direct question. She just smile and nodded. Clearly this is where Brightblossom belonged after all the she-cat was a natural with kits. Ivyheart didn't know if she could handle ever having kits, she didn't know how Quailtail was handling. but then again Quialtail was likable cat, unlike herself. Ivyheart was a bit too honest some would say, she personally didn't that was a bad thing but apparently it was. She just rolled here eyes at the teasing queen and then laughed slightly. Then she heard the name Ashnight. She just tilted her head here eyes sparked with interest. So he's moved on from Honeyrain I see She just thought to herself. She knew the silent tom, he was quite handsome Ivyheart thought and she just smiled at Brightblossom and said in a teasing voice, "Oh Ashnight. You actually got him to speak. Props to you Brightblossom." Then she winked at the queen.

The she-cat smiled as she watched some of the kits, her tail flicking to guide a few of them back to the others, amused smile, before looking up as the other spoke Ashnight's name, surprised by the spark of interest, the tease in her voice, and immediately the queen was ducking her head in embarrassment, "He doesn't talk . . . that much. Only a little here or there." but she did have his smile, the sound of his laughter tucked inside her brain, a sound and expression never to be forgotten. "Really. He's just helping me learn to defend myself, honest." She meowed, almost despertae to get the attention away from her and Ashnight. Very quickly away.

Ivyheart watched as the queen ducked her head in embarrassment. Ivyheart just chuckled slightly at the queen clearly something was going on in between them Good Job Ashnight. She thought to herself. Then she watched the other cat and she just kepted a cheesy smile on her face the whole time that Brightblossom talked to her about him. Ivyheart wasn't dumb clearly there was something going on between them. She just said, "Oh I know he doesn't talk much. The only time he's ever talked to me is when he's angry with me. Like come on Ashnight! I'm not that mean." Then she rolled her eyes thinking about the times that he actually did talk to her an she knew that when he was angry with her it was for perfectly good reasons. Then she just narrowed her eyes slightly at the queen. "Hm... I guess I'll take your word for it. but Ashnight night would be dumb to not take up that opportunity, to not just be the teacher." She twitched her whiskers at the other she-cat.

The she-cat smiled faintly, "He's never raised his voice with me. Teased me a bit . . . . but never yelled. He's usually pretty quiet though. He'll chuckle and roll his eyes more than he actually speaks. but I don't mind, I understand anyway. When he doesn't use words, I mean. He's not that hard to follow. Er, I mean anyone could do it. It's not like we have a connection or anything. We're just friends, uh, friends who train together or something. It's nothing big, I swear." The she-cat knew sje was rambling and finally fell silent, head down, embarrassed before looking at the female again, shyly, "He's just a friend, really . . ." Not that she wouldn't be opposed to them being something new.
