A small form slipped through the dense words, dark amber eyes narrowed as the silhouette trekked ahead. Muscles rippled under his short marbled pelt, and no one could deny just how dashing he was, even at his young kit age. Paws slipped across the grass, darkness flooding against the marbled kit's pelt, only his glowing eyes seen in that darkness. The dense forest was where he had always lived, where he had been born, where he had even been raised, yet the tom craved the adventure of the outside world. He would in no way live in his father's shadow any longer, only being refereed to as a "Little Masquerade" Oh no way in hell did he want to be considered that same name as he had. Heck, nobody even bothered to learn his name.

but they would regret that, one day. When he had replaced his father, he would show them. 

That the name, that was his, would ring though they forever, and no longer would he be refereed to as a"Little Masquerade."

Soon, the kit was at what seemed to be at the edge of the territory, and with a grin of sorts, he padded forward in rebellion to his father. The morning sunlight in turn touched his marbled pelt and made his dark eyes even brighter, glowing as the light reflected off of them.

The small kitten played quietly with her self, chasing after a warped feather she'd found. Hazel and Sephora where no where to be found, and it left Honeydew on her own, in the open plains of her mother's terriotyr. Not that she minded bein alone, that is. She smiled to herself, eyes closing with a content sigh as she flicked her tail delicately. It was one of the few sounds she made. Sighs. Giggles. Quiet hums or purrs. She never spoke. Honeydew was deaf by genetics, but she was mute by choice, never seeing the point in speaking when she . . . . well, couldn't. She quietly flicked her tail gently, chasing, once more, after the feather, giggling. She had no idea of the danger that was approaching from the side of the territory she and her sisters where instructed to never visit.

She tilted her head softly when she suddenly caught on odd scent. She was silent for a moment before slowly making her way towards the scent, hesitating when she saw the direction the scent was in. The dilute siamese paused, hestating midstep, a small frown on her lovely face. The pale cream kit tilted her head, green eyes eyeing the ground, her pale chocolate markings standing out against the soft cream. The beautiful kit, lovely even in her young age slowly, hesitantly made her way forward, before freezing at a sound, stumbling back in surprise when another cat suddenly showed, another kit. A male one. One she didn't know.

The marbled Tom quickly moved forward, ready to take down any enemy. He would step out of his father's shadow. No, he had too. The Tom never wanted to be referred to as little Masquerade, as all he wanted to be was his own cat, and his name be known by all. Stepping forth, he broke itI the clearing-and came face to face with beautiful green eyes and cream fur. A she-cat. A kit like him.

With a widening of his dark Amber eyes, the Tom was hesitant to do anything, before he quirked an eyebrow and spoke with intrigue,"Why are you here, upon my father's territory?" His voice was one to remember, as already it was starting to form its deep town that anyone would remember.

Instantly the little kitten frowned delicately, ears lowering. His father's land. She moved past him, flicking her tail against his chest for him to turn and follow her. She lead him to a point, using her paw to swipe along the line, and pointed to the side they were on, and in a slightly off hilter voice, the usually mute kitten spoke two words, "Mother's land."

He had passed onto some other territory.

His father was going to kill him.

With a jolt and widen of his dark Amber eyes, he glanced to the side to the she-cat."Sorry, I guess I should have been more careful. My dad is going to kill me, damn it." With a lower of his ears, he glanced around at this territory. Of course it was someone else's! Idiot idiot idiot' The thoughts chanted in his head as a frown tugged at his lips. Now he would most likely never get away with this. He would never get out of his father's shadow.

He would never become his own cat after this stunt.

The little siamese kitten's eyes widened, and instantly she was standing next to him, gently licking his shoulder in a soothing manner, purring in hopes of calming the larger kit down. She wasn't sure what was wrong, but instantly she smiled, using her tail to playfully nudge his side before trotting a little ways away, jumping into a batch of flowers, and starting to chase the butterflies that lept out. Smiling in a 'come play' manner, towards him.

What? Was someone actually caring about the marbled Tom?

Gunner watched in shock as the she-cat's beautiful green eyes widened, and how she was next to him instantly, and then she was linking his shoulder. And oh how soothing that was, and just how much he needed some soothing was crazy. With a gentle smile, the first real emotion of kindness he had ever shown past his thick she'll, he blinked his dark Amber eyes in shock. Her purrs as well helped, and even at his small size compared to some of his siblings, the she/cat still helped him, and this she-cat was just smaller than himself.

His eyes followed her as she smiled and touched his side with her tail, and then in turn slipped away. He watched in shock as she leaped into a batch of flowers and then in turn chased some butterflies. Was this what some kits referred to as 'playing'? What was this?! but as she invited him with a smile, there was no stopping him as he leaped forward with a wiggle of his small haunches, and landed right in a batch of beautifully colored flowers that glowed in the sun-light. Picking up a lovely purple shaded one that matched the butterfly the she-cat was chasing, he leaped over and dropped it at her paws gently."For allowing me to play with you." Gunner smiled brightly, his eyes bright, excited, kind for the very first time.

The she cat look surprised at the flower dropped at her paws, before looking back up to him, her smile bright, lighting up her soft green eyes as she smiled warmly, nuzzling the flower before nudging him with her tail in a silent show of thanks, gently setting it off to the side where she'd remember to pick it up later to take home (where many moons from now she'd still have it tucked away against the side of her mother's nest as a reminder of this first time they got to know each other). She playfully leapt at him, this time, tussling and wrestling with him gently.

The Tom purred gently as she smiled and set the flower to the side, flicking his tail happily as she took it. It was the first present he had ever really given, and she took it. Just the thought made him want to leap into the air in happiness, as his thick walls were now down, and far down. As she leapt at him, he allowed her to push him against the soft green grass, a smile lighting up his features as he wiggled out of her grip, and then lightly nibbled at her ear, and in turn leaped away. A challenging glint in his eyes, he smiled just as usual as he crouched down and wiggled his tiny haunches, and the leapt at her with as little force as possible.

The female smiled as he agreed to play, laughing and jumping at him, wrestling and softly nudging him, nipping at his fur and side playfully - softly to avoid him actually getting hurt, a soft laugh bubbling up from her throat as she smiled at him, leaping at him as well, eyes bright, eyes soft, eyes warm, having fun as she fought with him playfully.

Gunner could not help but let out a laugh, one of the first ever uttered from him, as where he lived saw none of this bright happiness. With tail twitching, he lightly nibbled at her ear playfully in return, before diving under her, setting her to ground. His light laughter was one that would have startled his siblings, but that was no matter to the marbled Tom.

As as they play fought, he was at the height of his life, all worries slipping away quicker than sand from his fur.

The little she-kit tilted her head when he made a reaction - something she'd seen maybe once from her mother. A laugh -- right? Whatever that was. The deaf kitten giggled as he nibbled at her, before continuing their 'mock' up of a fight, her eyes delighted and bright as she curled up and and tussled about with him.

Just seeing the matching delight in her eyes made the tom smile lightly once more as they rolled around upon their mock fight, playing with each other as he had never done before. At his home, he was never the one to play, as he acted more like his father, and nothing like his air-headed mother.

It was quite irritating really.

With a soft chuckle, he leaped at Honeydew, and pushed the two kits into a batch of brightly colored flowers, and the marbled tom laying upon his back, his belly exposed.

The kitten fell back with an amused smile into the flowers, rolling onto her side to eye her new friend, before playfully flopping over his exposed belly, her eyes playful as she licked his cheek briefly before remaining collapsed there, breathing a little hard as she caught her breath after their playing session, her gaze warm as she watched him, her tail twitching playfully.

GUnner stared at his friend happily, his back pressed against the soft green grass and blooming flowers as the two cats stared at each other with playfulness, and even friendly affection. Few cats had ever seen his compassionate, sensitive side before, as he never let anyone see such weakness, but right then and there, it felt right. The son of the devil, the leader of the Masquerade, and the daughter of the loner, the two parents rivals. Yet no one could deny the oddness and affection both cats displayed to each other, and how good friends they already were.

Who knew.
