Skylark flicked her tail in slight excitement as they came across the crevice where the flying black rats were located. She had never done something like this before. Let's hope it doesn't mess up. but there was always an infinite amount of the flying rats it seemed, that's why she was hunting here. Killing these things would give them both fresh-kill and thin the population.

Her nose wrinkled as the smell of the Flying Rat dirt hit her and she glanced over her shoulder. The sun was sinking down behind them and she squinted so that she could see her clan mates. Then she had to shiver as a cold breeze signalling the entrance of the night chilled her. She blamed her short fur. "Is everyone ready?"

Shadowriver moved through the shadows, his large form dwarfing the majority of the patrol party in his shadow all at once (ah the trouble of being a cat as large as a dog). He nodded once to the other's question, immediately moving his way into the land with a silent stride, glancing up at the sleeping critters on the ceiling, "How do you propose we wake them - so we can reach them?" He asked, before he began to scale the wall of the crevice, jumping from bank to bank, strong claws gripping the rock easily to help aid him in his climb, eyes on the bats, looking down at the others, waiting for them to join him - or at least tell him if he should way the flying rats.

Lionfire followed Shadowriver into the dark den his head held high "Well they don't like bright lights or loud noises from what I've seen of them, so maybe if we make a loud enough noise they'll wake up and fly out" he wasn't sure if it would work but he knew one thing, he would fight them all to keep this patrol safe

Moontalon padded grudgingly at the back of the party, not sold that this patrol would be successful in the slightest. Flying rats were hard to catch - and provided only a small amount of meat. Was it even worth the effort? "We can't wake them, mousebrain." He retorted venomously at Shadowriver. "They'll just fly over us. . . Who's idea was this, again?" His sarcastic tone was sharp and rude. Ears flicking, he noted the noises the upside down rats were making on the roof of the cave.

Skylark tilted her head to the side, thinking. Her gaze darted around the cave. It lingered only long enough to observe the surroundings. The sun was starting to head down. The bats should be active soon. "I believe the sunset patrols mention that the bats only head out at sunset. They should be waking up any moment now." However; she heard the clicking noise too. They might already be awake. 

She signaled with her tail for the patrol to spread out a little and leapt onto on of the sides of the crevice as well. "If we can find a flat area, maybe we can jump high enough to bring them down like we would another bird." She let her sight drift around until she spotted a flat area nearby. "Let's try jumping there!"

It would take a little scaling to get to, but it wouldn't be that hard or dangerous. And if they got there they'd be close enough to the entrance to both catch alot of bats and head out quickly if need be. The flat and smooth stone would also be easy to leap from, with a pair of strong legs.

The tom nodded when it was suggested they try jumping - easily showing the best way up. Thanks to his large size, strong claws, and the lucky passing of the genes of good climbing ancestors, the tom easily made it up before looking at some of the clicking bats that were starting to wake, "Let's get this thing done, then!" He meowed, glancing to the other cats in their group.

Lionfire leapt up onto the slab, not moving his eyes from their prey, ready when they began to take flight "Don't be so hasty Shadowriver, rushing something like this could cause wounds that could be avoided, a warriors strongest weapon is his mind, we need to be careful, these things can be dangerous in such numbers"
