Tansyleaf wasn't sure how long it had been. She just knew it had to of been a while, since night fall had arrived. The warm greenleaf sun had slowly sunken beneath the horizon beyond the mouse ridge. The sunset had been magnificent as usual but Tansyleaf just hadn't been up for watching. No instead the she cat had lay amongst the soft tendrils of grass and sniffled. Trying her utmost not to completely break down, her head filled with memories of the day's earlier events. Kodiak's arrival on the border and then Cloudflight's arrival. The way Cloudflight had changed when he saw Kodiak how he'd nearly hurt the tom she'd come to call a friend. but what hurt the most was the lie. Cloudflight had lied straight to her face, not only that but something had been terribly wrong with Kodiak. The tom who was normally so kind to her, had left without a goodbye. All of it was just too much for Tansyleaf, she had to leave. She had to get away from Cloudflight to clear her head. So the petite feline had ignored his desperate calls and run off. At first she'd considered going back to camp, but at the last moment she decided against it. She needed to be alone, she needed time to think.
So now the stunning little calico she-cat lay amongst the grass contemplating her day. Fighting back the tears which welled up in the depths of her sky blue eyes. Only allowing sniffles to escape her, as she licked obsessively at her pelt. Her feathery tail wrapped around her body, like it always was when she felt uncomfortable or in this case sad. It hadn't taken much thinking over for Tansyleaf to figure out what had happened. Cause with a clear head and no worry that the two toms might kill one another, she'd had time to think. She'd come to realize that Kodiak was jealous of Cloudflight. That he liked her, probably more than a friend. It made sense since he'd been so tender with her at the end of their last meeting. As for Cloudflight he too had been jealous and that jealousy had been directed at Kodiak in a rage. His lie was that he was trying to protect the clan against an outsider, he'd thought she was in love with the loner. Or at least this was what Tansyleaf thought the pair had felt. She couldn't be sure... especially when it came to Kodiak. He'll probably never speak with me again... She thought feeling saddened by the idea. She couldn't say she had feelings for Kodiak beyond that of friendship but she had cared for him deeply. Now he was gone forever, and with no goodbye. Sighing softly, Tansyleaf blinks her clear sky blue eyes rapidly to avoid more sniffling. She wasn't sure why this had her so emotional, only that it did. The whole thing hurt, like a gaping wound in her heart. Mixed feelings of regret, sadness, confusion, love, and more just overwhelmed her small frame. Causing her to break down atop the mouse ridge.
Burying her delicate face into her paws, Tansyleaf closes her eyes tight. Taking deep and careful breaths of the earthy greenleaf smells. Her white fur with its calico patches groomed to perfection, was dancing in the luminescent glow of the stars and sliver of moon overhead. Making the tiny feline stand out against the dark grass even more than normal.
