Cherrypaw had called a friend to a small clearing. Her excitement was threw the roof, and she couldn't wait to start. Bounceleep was going to come, he had to, and then they would race. This was no traditional race mind you this was a tree race, a race from branch to branch to see who could get to the end point faster. Perching herself on a low hanging branch she waited for him to join her, so they could race, there was no other reason what so ever, trust me.

Bounceleap was still sleepy from then morning. He had the same dream again last night, the one where he saw his mother for the last time. He knew it was pointless to prey on the past, but apparently, he didn't have the courage to tell his mind that. Of course, in his sleepy daze, he hadn't noticed the request from Cherrypaw. Only after he had sat down to eat breakfast had he realized her challenge.

He gritted his teeth. cursing his teeth as he sprung to his paws. His legs carried him out of camp, not caring at the stares he may have gotten from other Leafclanners. He had hoped she hadn't kept her waiting. Perhaps he'll let her win to make up with him, hurt his pride a little. His legs were built for running and climbing, and a race in the trees was definitely his strong point. Losing a race would made him look as though he was losing his game, but he was far from losing it. He debated as to whether or not to actually throw the game when he arrived to the branch she was perched on.

He let out a sigh, apologizing with a pant, "Sorry for being late madam. You wanted to race me?"

Oh my starclan did he just call her Madam AND say sorry for being late. You may say the crush levels are over nine thousand now but that would be an understatement. At first she was slightly speechless, then played it off with a chill calm tone. Turning towards Bounceleep she grinned and spoke."Yeah man! and don't worry you being late was no biggy, get ready to loose! Beckoning Bounceleep to join her she waited on the branch for him to join her.

He tried to regain his breath, and his panting subsided after a while. He seemed to have his boundless energy back, and his tail swished the ground with excitement. It was decided, he would do his best. If he was really loosing his edge, he would pretend as though he let her win, and if he won, there was nothing else to worry about! He would let fate decide his next course of actions - he just hoped face was nice enough to give him a win today.

Of course he was glad that she didn't turn on him or cancel the challenge all together. She seemed really cool about it, and that was one thing he liked about the young apprentice. She seemed to always be the cool, chill cat who still had a competitive streak. A cat like that would be great for him. That's what he thought, in a sense. No matter how much he thought she could suit him, however, he could never see them going past being friends. This was just a platonic relationship, that's all.

"I'm sorry, honey," he said confidently, "but you shouldn't dream too big. Some dreams just never make it." He padded calmly over to Cherrypaw, his paws landing with a big thud on the ground with each step. He paused on the branch, not getting on it just yet. He didn't want her to call it ready when he wasn't ready either. "May I just ask a specification of the rules?" He asked curiously, his fur fluffing up with adrenaline.

Oh starclan the friend zone is real, thankfully Cherrypaw doesn't know it yet. She giggled at Bounceleeps own form of smack talk and said. "My dreams can be as big as the want, because they won't be crushed like yours." Do we have a burn heal for this, I don't think so. Man that burn was so sick you could hear the character from comic in a comic say 'I told you about those burns bro'. It was funny though, she thought she was so cleaver.

Cherrypaw had not really even thought of rules yet, so it took her a moment to think. She then smiled and said, "Um no sabotage for one, you can't purposefully cause something bad to happen. Two no going into the high canopy that would be bad in it of itself. Three first one to the mossy oak wins, any questions?" Her tail swished in anticipation as she couldn't wait to get started.

"Ah, is that how it is?" Bounceleap purred, stretching out his legs one-by-one, "You're so sure that you'll beat me?" He couldn't help but let a smirk on his face; his eyes flared up in anticipation and amusement. This was going to be a fun race - he could tell. Whether he wins or loose, he'll make this fun. That's all he cares about these challenges. Make it fun and it'll make everything worthwhile, but If you make it a serious race, it'd be so boring when the winner and the loser have to talk about the race. Better to make it enjoyable so he and Cherrypaw could talk about this race for a long time.

He nodded softly, paying attention to the rules. He understand them, so he spoke his agreement, "Alright then. However, I have one rule to add. Would you mind if I add it?" He smile politely at the apprentice, using his good-looking charms to try to get his way.
