VIOLA LION
I am a million pieces of the sky
I found a way to be alone
I found a way to be alone
I'm gonna wait until you want me
Until you finally decide to go home
She was not necessarily more confident - she was, perhaps, foolishly much braver than usual.
The silver-white ghostly cat had swept past the towering forests of Clan territory, moving beyond into the wider fields at the foot of the mountains. Here, the ground rolled upwards in ever-greater sweeps; the sky seemed closer, like she could almost touch it. The stars positively screamed in their brilliance; the moon had since set, but dawn had not yet colored the world in shades of gray and ghost and deepest midnight blue. The world felt limitless around her. Her body felt as though there were no constraints; she almost believed that she might verily fly into the wide sweep of indigo above her head, find a place among the stars, and nestle there. She was certainly as silver-white as all of them were; why not?
The white she-cat crept through the territory, not quite aware that she had crossed a border a few minutes past, simply aware that she was surrounded on all sides by a wide vastness paralleled by nothing that she'd experienced before - not even the open fields that she had come to, reluctantly, acknowledge as her new home. Here, she was as open, as free - and yet more. It was like every emotion was intensified simply by the sight of the sky just overhead, as though the stars in their eternal dance urged her onward, farther, faster. She felt like she could run forever; she felt like she could simply lose herself and become one with the rest of eternity.
but, of course, despite the vaulting heavens overhead, despite the glittering arctic-blue, butter-yellow, winking-pink flare of the diamond-glitter above, she couldn't. Instead, with violently-blue eyes wide and wonderstruck, she continued up the mountain, wondering what she was getting closer to - or what she was leaving behind.
