Just Around the Riverbend (Open)

[Lionhearted]

Aw, it's so boring here. Spikekit heaved a dramatic sigh and flopped down on her belly, waiting for something interesting to happen. What could she do? What was there to do? 

She let her eyes wander: everything was upside-down, and she giggled at the sight of warriors padding around and giving her queer looks. Suddenly, she saw the rock wall. Spikekit sprang up, and raced to it, excited. 

The small white kit bunched her muscles, gazing up at the wall, preparing to climb. I wonder what's around this wall? Perhaps I could find out! An adventure! Grinning, Spikekit placed a paw on it. 

Hold on- just exactly how was she supposed to climb it? Brightfish, her friend, had told her that she was to find ledges that she could grapple onto. Hm. Well, there was one over there- however, upon reaching it, she discovered that it was too far up. 

"Argh! Umph!" Spikekit made little bunny-hops, jumping left and right, like a fox trying to reach a grape vine, desperate to get a hold onto the ledge. Problem was, that was starting to attract the grown-up cats' attention...

Nightsong was stretched out just outside the warriors' den, lazing around. She'd just gotten back from a border patrol, and she wasn't very hungry. Her pitch-black pelt was as sleek and shiny as ever, attracting the stares of most of the toms in TalonClan, and in some cases, a few she-cats. Whenever she looked their way, her admirers would quickly look away. Most of them, anyway. Clearly, there was no need for grooming.

Nightsong looked over to the rock wall, where a certain kit was hopping to and fro. She watched as the little kit struggled to reach the ledge, her green eyes glittering with amusement. Nightsong picked herself up, stretched, and walked over to Spikekit.

"You're definitely going to reach the top if you keep going like that," she mewed, her sarcastic tone ringing loud and clear.
