Ambrose: for Applepaw and Featherkit ^^
It hadn't been long at all since her father had brought her to this... clan. That's what everyone called it anyway. Talonclan.
There were a bunch of cats here, big and small, muscular and dainty, pretty and ugly, etcetera etcetera. It was an awkward mix, and yet it all worked together from what she'd seen. They all fed each other, they all took care of each other.
The small, petite kitten took a few steps out of the nursery and into the clearing. Featherkit's ears flicked back and forth, as warriors walked through camp side by side talking, elders shared the morning's kills, and apprentices and their mentors left for their training, trying to pick up every little sound. There was so much going on and she wanted to latch onto every little piece of it that she could. She was a sponge, eager to learn, bright at the core, yet so shallow on the outside.
She was a beautiful kit and she knew that. but rather than be beautiful and smart, she stuck to the prior. She became so self absorbed, to the eye, and that's all that others would see- this stuck up, undersized kit who desperately wanted to be more then anyone else was. Anyone could fall for a pretty face, and being younger reputation could mean a lot. And who wouldn't want to say they were friends with one of the prettiest kits around.
So she thought.
Copper eyes gleaming with pride she strutted out to a nice secluded spot in the clearing, but not too far out of the eyes of others. Plopping down, chest stuck out, she began grooming her fluffy mop of fur. She would stand for nothing less then presentable.
Well, at least self-esteem wasn't an issue for her.
