Blueshade limped across the camp clearing as fast she could, the searing pain on her back making the usually-easy walk a tiresome and painstakingly slow one. The tournament had given some of the cats one heck of a beating, for Blueshade had heard of one cat being clawed straight in the eyes. The she-cat muttered to herself, wondering why she hadn't done that with that three-legged pest of LeafClan; it would have been much easier than losing to her while the other cat revelled in the victory.
Snorting, she pushed into the medicine cats' den, the pulsing ache on her cheek suddenly burning like a furious flame. How can it even hurt so much? She hissed, settling herself down in the gloom, green eyes seeking out Spottedsky or even Maplepaw, the new medicine cat apprentice. "Spottedsky! Maplepaw! You've got cats waiting!"
While she waited, Blueshade grumpily thought back to Birdheart, seething at the outcome. I hope you limp worse than you do with that nasty bite I gave you!
