LeafClan Ceremonies

Sunstar stood in the middle of the clearing, reveling in the silence that filled the air. Almost no one was up yet because it was so early in the morning, but she liked doing them this early. Then the new apprentices and warriors had all day to enjoy their new positions in the clan. So the sun was just barely high enough to be seen over the trees. "All cats loyal to LeafClan join together for a Clan meeting!" She called, and waited for the clan to wake up. As soon as the majority of the clan was around her she began again. "Today we have some cats ready to advance in rank. First, we have an apprentice ready to become a warrior. Footpaw Ambrose, if you would please step forward."

Sunstar paused for a moment, thinking about her decision. She had decided to give the tom a name change, because his poor mother had named him and his siblings while she was clouded with grief. She really hoped he wouldn't mind a name change, but that was a risk she would take to give every cat in LeafClan an equal chance.

"Footpaw, today you are ready to become a warrior. Throughout these moons as an apprentice, you have proven your loyalty to your clan. I would like to give you a chance at an equal life, where your name will not be a weight in your life. From this day forward, you will not be known with the prefix Foot, but Berry. Your warrior name shall be Berryheart. Welcome to LeafClan young warrior." She smiled, reaching down to touch the tom's head with her nose. Then she continued on with the ceremonies.

"Sootkit, Flight of the Thunderbird, you have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to become an apprentice. From this day until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Sootpaw. Your mentor will be Frostwind, Skiv. I hope that he will teach you what you need to know to become a loyal warrior to LeafClan.

Beechkit, εℓιzαвεтн., you have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to become an apprentice. From this day until you receive your warrior name you will be known as Beechpaw. Your mentor will be Sheepfur, Heron. I hope that she will pass on all that she knows to you.

Russetkit, Babylonranger, you have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to become an apprentice. From this day until you receive your warrior name you will be known as Russetpaw. Your mentor will be Beewhisker, @makememapie. I hope that he will pass on the knowledge of being a good warrior of LeafClan."

As the golden tabby finished with the naming she stepped back to let the new apprentices and warrior converse with their clanmates. Hopefully the clan could start gaining warriors who slacked off on their jobs. Sunstar smiled quietly to herself as she remembered Nightpaw.

"And one more thing. A warrior in this clan has been demoted to Apprentice status and is to be addressed as so until further notice. Nightfox is to be addressed as Nightpaw until the next ceremonies. Thank you."

Beewhisker smiled happily, taking immediate search to the 'Russetkit' He was supposed to be training. Though he felt sorry for Nightfox- Nightpaw. . . What could a warrior do to receive a down rank punishment? None of his business is what!

His tail lashed as he looked over the leaving crowd, not even sure what he was looking for at the moment.

The ginger-brown tabby tom grinned excitedly at his sister. They were apprentices! He'd been worried that Beechkit would be held back because she was so sickly, but now she was Beechpaw. Russetpaw looked around the gathered Leafclan cats who were cheering for the new apprentices and the new warrior.

Searching for his mentor, the new apprentice caught sight of the warrior he'd seen talking with Fallenpaw not long ago. Was this Beewhisker? Russetpaw padded over to the older tom, his leafy green eyes wide in anticipation.

Beewhisker looked down at the lively tom before him, a warm smile on his face as he viewed his new apprentice form head to toe. "You must be Russetpaw? I see why our leader gave you to me, you defiantly have potential." He praised with his chest puffed out. His paw cupped and thumped the top of the kit's head in a playful manner.

Russetpaw gave his mentor a self-conscious grin, hoping that he'd live up to the potential Beewhisker claimed to see in him. Chuckling at the older tom's playful buffet, the long-furred ginger-brown apprentice shook himself slightly. "Yep, I'm Russetpaw. And you're Beewhisker then? What will we do first? Could we start now?"

Apprenticeship seemed alright so far, as did his mentor. The young tabby tom hoped his sister's mentor was kind and understanding; Beechpaw would need a cat that wouldn't push too hard during her sicker days.

Frostwind padded out of the warrior den. He looked around for his friend Nightfox. The large blueish gray tom, found his friend quickly but then the leader Sunstar started talking before the tom could go join him. The tom just sat down, a bit nervous. He wanted to be by his friend but yet he didn't want to sneek across when the leader started talking. So he just sat down turning his green gaze up at the leader. He just listened as one apprentice was made a warrior. Then the apprentice ceremonies started. The first kit Sootkit was called forward first. Thats when the leader called out his name. The warrior just nodded slowly. He couldn't do this. He couldn't train a warrior, he barely made it to warriorship himself. The warrior started freaking out silently, he couldn't believe that the leader would choose him to become a mentor. The tom just looked at the apprentice and sighed. He had no idea how he was going to do this Hopefully Nightfox received an apprentice as well. He just waited to see if his friend would be called when he wasn't the tom got sad. but then what came next is not what he expected. Nightfox was an apprentice now! Oh no this isn't good. I can't train an apprentice and my friend that would help me is an apprentice. I can't handle this. The warrior after the leader was done sprinted over to his friend saying "What did you do Nightf-," Then he cleared his throat "Nightpaw?" Totally forgetting that he had to meet with his apprentice he was just more worried about his friend.

Nightpaw hadn´t really been expecting the leader to announce his... demoted status to all the clan to hear, he waved his tail annoyed with the she cat but said nothing, his ears perked up with soft paw sounds and he turned to see Frostwind, well of course his friend was probably curious to know what happened, the black male sighed. "Well, I got into a argument with Sunstar that´s all, she can be a mouse brain when she wants to be." He said cleary wanting to change the subject but leaving open space for his friend to question him further if he wanted to. "Also, you are a mentor now hum? Congratulations." The demoted warrior smiled to Frostwind hoping to calm him down a little. "Don´t make that face to me, you will do just fine, also, I will be here if you need any help, Sunstar can only change my name, I´m still a warrior at heart." The male said throwing a murderer look in the leader direction.

Frostwind just looked at his friend. He couldn't believe that the tom actually just got in a fight with the leader. What could have he said to make Sunstar do that to him. Frostwind just said, "Nightpaw it must have been pretty bad for her to do that." Then the tom just looked around glancing over to where the leader was. He knew that she should being his duty and meeting with his apprentice but he just couldn't do it not yet. He didn't even know if he could train the cat. He just then didn't comment anymore about the leader making Nightfox an apprentice. He just gave his friend this look like, I can't do this. but it seemed like Nightpaw was already know what he was doing. When the other tom told him that he could train the cat he just relaxed a bit more. His friend always seemed to make him feel better about himself. He just nodded and said, "Oh I know your a warrior at heart Nightpaw. You always have been! Thanks for cheering me up." Then the tom looked for his apprentice Sootpaw, he spotted the young cat and sighed, "Wish me luck Nightpaw, I'll chat with you later tonight." Then the warrior padded towards his apprentice swallowing the lump in his throat.

Beechpaw felt every nerve tremble with excitement ands he returned her brother's equally excited grin. She did it! Despite her sickness at birth and her continued weakness throughout her short life thus far, the dusky brown she-cat had pulled through six moons without joining Starclan and would be able to train alongside her brother (though something tugged at the back of her mind, saying she may not be able to make it to warrior status). Now, she hung by him, hovering near him as he spoke with his new mentor, Beewhisker. Her new mentor, Sheepfur, was elsewhere at the moment, and Beechpaw didn't want to be left in the middle of camp by herself. Besides, she really wanted to find a place in the apprentice den next to her brother's nest.

Sootkit looked around. Where's my mentor? he thought. Although to most he had a brash, ambitious nature, almostno one had seen his good side, his happy, nice side. And that was the side he would show to his mentor. He hoped his mentor ddidn'thear about the time he and his sister climbed up halfway the giant birch. Then he would be in big trouble. The brown tom glanced sideways just in time to see Frostwind, he bowed his head respectfully and said, "Hello Frostwind. I'm Sootpaw. I hope we can get to know each others better as friends, as well as mentor and apprentice." He smiled.
