Foxkit eagerly hobbled out of the nursery, he wondered what he could play today, Foxkit looked like someone had just smashed his parents together and shrunk them down to kit size, but there was one thing that made him stand out from his littermate more then any other, his right hind leg was missing, as if that same person decided they didn't like the way it looked on him so they just took it off, but that didn't stop Foxkit, he was determined to be the greatest cat he could be, even if it was a bit hard for him to do lots of stuff that his littermates could do Skiv Twineheart

Redpaw who was sprawled out in camp, his fluffy white underbelly pressed to the cool stone cannot help but notice the hobbling kit. He watches the tom curiously having never noticed him around before. This was unsurprising though he was bad with faces, and names he just didn't pay all that much attention until he knew a cat. He couldn't help but feel a twinge of pity for the kit as he watched him hobble. It was one thing to be blind or even deaf. but to be missing a limb? It looked like a difficult way to live, especially when your home was a mountain. Wondering if he should say hello, Redpaw hesitates. He wasn't very good with conversations. He was just too awkward and most cats didn't even notice him. but it couldn't hurt really, the tom was only a kit and they weren't usually picky on who they spoke with. " Uh..." He clears his throat. " Hi there." He says flinching at how awkward he sounded.

Spiderkit just finished grooming her fur. She then headed out of camp for the day. It was quite busy, she listened to all the cats move around, she learned to focus not on voices but the paws steps themselves. She just smiled glad that camp was busy for the day. She just then felt a prickle in her chest. She knew who it was, Redpaw was projecting his feelings a bit. She wondered why he felt that way. She just then listened before heading out into camp she weaved her way towards where she thought Redpaw was. Moving along she stopped and tasted the air, the young she-cat caught his scent and changed direction before heading towards him. Thats when she heard his voice, she just giggled lightly as she padded up next to him. He tail lightly touching his pelt hopefully comforting the older apprentice. She just then asked, "Who are you saying Hi to Redpaw?"

Foxkit looked at the other cats smiling "Hi" he said happily sitting down his missing hind leg even more protonate in this position but he didn't seem to even notice that he was any different from other cats in the clan, or even in his litter, he seemed perfectly content, even if he was a bit off balance from time to time

Foxpaw padded out of the den, coughing as he did so. He hated being sick. His littermates were out there right now, training and hunting and playing, and here he was, stuck in camp with nothing to do.

With a sigh, Foxpaw glanced around the camp, hoping that one of his littermates had returned, since at least they didn't baby him like everyone else seemed to do.

He noticed an apprentice- Redpaw- and two kits, Spiderkit and Foxkit. He had plenty of time to memorize names since the sick apprentice had nothing better to do.

The sight of Foxkit immediately made him feel bad for his own self-pity. After all, the little kit was missing a leg and was still happy and upbeat. Foxpaw's only issue was a bit of a cough. With this in mind, he decided to try and play with the kit a bit, maybe cheer himself up in the process.

"Hey, Foxkit, Redpaw, Spiderkit," he mewed, nodding to each cat in turn.

Redpaw's slightly tufted ears flicker around at Spiderkit's giggle. His broad face glancing around at her in some surprise, as her tail lays softly on his shoulder. Automatically feeling a little better with the she-cat at his side, he smiles. " oh um..." He starts about to reply. but at that moment Foxkit called out to him. He turns his face to the youngster and waves his plume of a tail. Again glad Spiderkit couldn't see because he probably looked just as awkward as he felt. " I was just..." He starts but is again interrupted. This time by a fellow apprentice. He glances around at the tom, and tilts his head. " Oh hey." He says having no clue what the tom's name was. Blinking his golden amber eyes, he looks back at Spiderkit willing her to speak this tom's name.

Spiderkit just turned her head towards Redpaw as he started to speak. Thats when he got interrupted and she just flicked her ears towards the sound of the voice. She just tasted the air trying to catch the other cats scent. It flowed into her mouth and she recognized it but she couldn't put a name to the smell. She knew it was a kit, there were tons of kits in the nursery it was hard to keep track sometimes. She just then heard his voice again and she turned her ears towards her friend and that when once again the cat got interrupted once again. She just turned and this time she was able to tell who it was because of his voice. It was Foxpaw an apprentice that always seemed to be sick. She would sometimes see the young cat when she visit her father. She just then heard him call out all of their names. Foxkit! Right I knew that. The blind kit didn't look at Foxpaw but as she said, "Hello Foxpaw, how are you feeling today?"

Dappledstep sat by the fresh-kill pile, having just finished off her squirrel. Her belly was full, but there were still some scraps remaining. The new warrior grabbed what was left, still half, and brought it over to the small group of younger cats.

"I thought you one of you might like this," Dappledstep meowed a bit nervously. She was a warrior, but only just, and wasn't a very outgoing one at that.

"I guess I'm okay," Foxpaw replied with a shrug, unsure what else to say. Here he was faced with a poor kit with one leg missing and another who couldn't even see him, and he was moping about being a bit sick? He was ashamed of himself, but he didn't know how to change his mindset.

Thankfully, he was distracted for a moment by an approaching warrior.

"Hello," he mewed in greeting.

Foxkit looked at the warrior "Hi" he repeated looking at the squirrel "Foxpaw should get it, or Spiderkit, they could use something to fill their bellies" he said innocently he didn't want to hurt anyone's feeling he just wanted to help out in any way he could, and if that meant giving up the chance for a bit of squirrel to feed someone who might need it more he'd do it

Dappledstep set the squirrel down between Foxpaw and Spiderkit, giving Foxkit a nod for his thoughtfulness.

"Either one of you want the rest?" She looked at the two nervously, hoping they wouldn't take it the wrong way. She was just trying to be kind, after all. She sat on her haunches, waiting to see if she should take it back or leave it with the younger cats.

Spiderkit heard another cat approaching. She just flicked her ears in that direction and then just listened to the conversation around her. The blind kit wasn't expecting what happened next. The sound and the thump of the squirrel landing right in between her scared the fur off of Spiderkit. She jumped back towards Redpaw, her tail fluffed out even larger than it already was and the blind kit just then relaxed slightly not saying anything a bit embarrassed to be scared by a squirrel.
