Nightbriar opened her eyes slowly, she hadn't been feeling well for a few days now, but thinking it was just something she ate she left it alone but as the time wore on she began to feel worse and worse and now she barely had the strength to get out of her nest at times, she flinched feeling a pain ripple through her, oh no! not now! they couldn't be born now!!! she yowled with all the strength she could manage for her mate, hoping beyond hope she'd make it through this birth Skiv Twineheart Specklebird

( Sorry this took forever! I literally was trying to reply for like 30 mins and then my Internet said no and died -_-)

Starlingblaze was worried.

It wasn't the same kind of worry which had plagued him during Nightbriar's first pregnancy. No this was different, she had been acting out of sorts. Like she wasn't feeling well, but of course being Nightbriar his mate had dismissed the feeling. Only putting Starlingblaze in a worse state of worry. So bad that the young tom had refused to leave camp recently. Becoming even more clingy and doting towards his mate than usual.

So now laying in the warrior's den simply because the nursery was too crowded. Starlingblaze twitched uneasily in his none too restful sleep. Then the sudden and blood curdling yowl of his mate sends him flying out of his nest. Blinking his mossy gaze open blearily, he glances around. " Nightbriar!?" He calls, his ears flattening when he realizes the sound is indeed coming from his mate. Without another thought he dashes from the warrior's den, not even paying attention to whether or not he stepped on tails. Barging into the nursery, he darts to her side. " Nightbriar!? What's wrong!?" He asks eyes wide with concern. Then he notices the contractions gripping her side and he swallows hard. She was in labor!

Nightbriar groaned and her claws gripped the ground as she began to give birth to her young every contraction taking more and more out of her as she tried to bring life to the small bodies inside her

the first was a silver tom, he was very cute, or a least he seemed some in Nightbriar's half aware mind Twineheart

the second was also silver but as she cat instead of a tom and not as, for lack of a better word, fluffy Specklebird

the third was a long furred black tom, like Starlingblaze but he didn't seem quite as, again, fluffy as he father was Skiv

the final kit was also a male, funnily enough he also looked like his father fluff and all but he seemed to have her ears at least, and maybe her tail she couldn't tell (Me)

Nightbriar shivered a little from the effort nudging her kits close to herself to make sure they got the milk they needed rested her head down with a coughing fit "what do you think we should call them?" she asked her mate looking very tired

the little "fluffy" she cat struggled against her mother's attempts to pull her closer, but she only succeeded in tumbling onto her back. her tiny paws churned in the air, she looked like a beetle trying to get onto its feet again. she let out a loud mew and wriggled onto her belly. her eyes were tightly shut, and she felt her tail tickling her nose. batted at it pinning it down...

Starlingblaze had like the first time Nightbriar gave birth sat by her side, his large fluffy tail stroking her side in a gentle manner. His mossy eyes filled with worry, as his mate struggled through what he could only imagine was a painful birth. but then after a grueling wait, 4 healthy and precious bundles of fur laid at his mate's belly. Starlingblaze lets out a relieved purr, nuzzling against Nightbriar softly.

At her question he eyes the kits. His gaze falling to the silver tom with black stripes like his mate but white paws like him. He licks the kit, then gazes up at Nightbriar trying not to worry about the terrible cough she had. " Could this one be Silverkit?" He asks her softly. " After Silverfish I mean?" He says having been thinking about giving one of their kits this name for a while. As a way to honor his mentor and his sacrifice to their family.

Nightbriar purred hoarsely "that sounds wonderful she looked at the next two kits studying them as closely as she could "how does Ivykit sound for this one?" she rested her tail on the second kit then put her tail on the third "and Darkkit for this one?" she looked at her mate for approval

[Twineheart]

Starlingblaze licks Nightbriar's forehead softly when she agreed to the name. A rumbling purr in his throat, he then pulls his head back to look at the kits she spoke of. His mossy gaze soft as he watched them at their mother's belly. He nods at the names, smiling gently. " Those are wonderful names." He says softly, licking each of the kits she spoke of. Then his eyes fall upon the final kit. He was fluffy just like Starlingblaze but with his mama's big ears. Starlingblaze softly nuzzles the tom, then looks to Nightbriar. " What about Badgerkit for this one? " he suggests to his mate.

Nightbriar nodded happily "sounds wonderful" then she laid her head on her paws very tired from all this effort but glad that her kits had their own identities at last, she closed her eyes but didn't go to sleep but laid there and tried to relax, hard to do with the coughing fits she had to deal with but she'd manage somehow

The newly named Badgerkit squirmed a little at first when he was born but once he found milk to drink he was content, he didn't know much about this new world he found himself in but he knew that he was going to explore it all....later

Starlingblaze had purred in delight when Nightbriar agreed to Badgerkit's name. but his delight faded fast when Nightbriar continued to cough terribly. Brushing his face against hers, he curls up behind her with a soft and worried sigh. " If that cough doesn't go away by tomorrow I'm getting Nightpoppy." he says softly, his large tail stroking her flank in a gentle manner. His mossy green gaze watching her and their newborn kits lovingly.

Silverkit mewls loudly at his mother's belly, his small limbs flailing in every direction as he attempts to get used to this new world. It was so cold and loud he didn't know what to make of it all. but after a few moments of wailing he found a nipple to suckle on and settled down. His tiny paws kneading Nightbriar's belly.

ivykit, the little silver tabby she cat, let out a loud squeaky mew when her brother silverkit flailed next to her. she pushed herself away from nightbriar, and took her first few wobbly steps across mossy padded floor of the nursery. her little sick-like tail stood strait up in the air, and her fluffy fur was puffed out like a startled fox's tail fur. she wanted to explore this new world, not just sleep through it all.
