Entering the Lion's Den - Tagged

The sun sat high in the sky, crowned with a halo of white clouds that somewhat protected the clans below. Among the tall trees that gathered on Midnightclan's territory, the clan busied itself, pelts of varying colors blending together under the leafy canopy. One she cat stood out from the rest with her striking creme pelt, dark brown face, legs and tail. She moved with a lethal elegance and held her head naturally high - shooting pale blue eyes over the camp and her clanmates. The freshkill pile was swollen and she had already contributed to it earlier in the morning. Hunting was not something the slender Siamese she cat loved spending her time on. No, she had other plans for the day.

Eyeing the cats in the clearing, blue eyes narrowed before she gave a sharp flick of a thin, dark tail and turned off to the warriors den. Standing beside the entrance, Snowblaze let her eyes adjust to the dark and searched the beds for her training partner for the day. The two had been apprentices at around the same time and he was a formidable opponent - praise not given lightly by the proud female warrior. It was just a question of whether he were around or not. She knew Liontooth with his tendency to attract she-cat attention - and Snowblaze couldn't think of anything worse. She herself recieved her share of looks but she never acted on such. She had no time nor interest to be romantically inclined - meaning she hung out with the toms just fine. When her eyes adjusted, the den was still dark and so she called out in her cool voice, filling the den.

If she woke up her clanmates, that was their own fault. They should be up by now.

"Liontooth?"

Liontooth was well adjusted to sleeping in the warriors' den. Not only did you have the elder warriors claiming the softest and warmest spots, you had the younger warriors kicking and fighting with each other throughout the night. The aged tom, himself, liked to pick any spot he could find and go with the flow. A key importance to being a warrior was sleeping like a warrior, always half-conscious of what was going on around you. When he heard his name called through the darkness, it was too simple to bring his mind back to reality. Very casually the tom lifted his large head and blinked through the dark, noticing the she-cat that was placed at the entrance of the den. He recognized her immediately. "I'm here." he called out, getting to his feet so as to not disturb any other snoozing clan mates.

When he pushed his way out, he turned to face the other warrior. It was Snowblaze, staring back at him with round blue eyes that he had known for what felt like forever. He remembered her as the inexperienced Snowpaw, but she had grown into the brutal Snowblaze for her strength and determination. She was fairly easy to get along with, especially for Liontooth. Each of them had their own agenda of fighting and brutal honesty; the only difference being that Liontooth seemed to have a softer heart at his core, whereas Snowblaze did not seem to care about a thing.

The fluffy tom looked at her expectantly, nodding in greeting. "Good morning."

Snowblaze heard an 'I'm here' from the dark den followed by the rustle of bedding as the large, fluffy tom moved around inside. The warrior stood waiting for him, a natural beauty though one that stood like she knew what she was doing, legs evenly spaced, tail balanced, ears alert. Rather than delicate and beautiful, she was dangerous and striking - like a sword always pointed at the jugular by a steady hand. Scary if you weren't used to it. Attractive to those that embraced that lifestyle.

Then again, Snowblaze didn't care what others thought much.

"Good morning."

He was in front of her then, looking down at her even with her height. He was one of the few cats in the clan that knew how to deal with her without entering into an argument or taking it personally. She was blunt, she spoke her mind and she liked things to work in controlled environments. Was that really too much to ask? "Well," she started with sharp blue eyes. "I think you missed the morning but never mind. We are going to the training grounds." Not a question, but a statement and one not surprising. Snowblaze loved fighting and having a worthy opponent. If the tom gave her any foxdung excuse, especially a very masculine comment about the milling she cats around the camp, he was going to be burned extra hard at training. "It's been a while since I kicked your hide." Smirking up at him, her blue eyes lightened with the blunt humour for a brief moment and then she turned away and started towards the camp exit, all business and confidence.
