Ravenkit lay in the warm, sunny clearing on his back. His eyes closed and smiling slightly enjoying the warm rays of sunshine hitting his stomach. He sighed happily and thought life can't get any better right now. He suddenly felt a cold chill hit him. He opened his eyes quickly to see the sun covered up at a cloud. He rolled his eyes and thought dumb cloud, cover up the sun, I wish mommy could just bat away the sun. When he thought about his mother a frown spread across his face. He remembered not to long ago his mother went out to hunt for a little and was attacked by a badger and.... killed. He closed his eyes thinking about his mother's bloody body being carry to camp. He shook his head a little trying to get the evil thought away. He watched as the cloud uncovered the sun again. He closed his eyes trying to take a nap but couldn't, the thought of his mother still drifted around his mind. He decided he might as well eat if he couldn't nap anymore. He stood up and cracked his neck a little before padding over to the fresh-kill pile. He saw a small mouse sitting near the bottom of the pile. He picked it up and scanned the clearing looking for a cat to sit with. He noticed a she-cat sitting in the sun. he nodded to himself and padded over to the she-cat and said," um, hey can I sit with youuuu". He grumbled at himself for his shyness towards the she-cat. He waited for her answer.

ivykit was laying curled up in a sunny spot with her tail over her nose. she shifted when he spoke and opened one of her eyes. she grunted and lifted her tail off her nose and sat up slightly. she yawned and mewed "yea... sure" she stretched and slumped back into a lazy pile of fur. then she peeked up to take a better look at the cat whom she has invited to sit with her...

Ravenkit looked at the ground but still gave a curt nod. He said," thanks, I just a little shy and I don't have any friends". He sighed and sat down and looked at the small piece of prey sitting in front of him. He licked his lips and then took a big bite of the prey. He chewed it slowly letting the great taste cover her mouth. He smiled happily and then thought well, I better say something to start off the talk, that's what daddy tells me to do. He swallowed his prey and then looked at the she-cat and said," Hello, My name is Ravenkit, what's yours"? He looked at the ground again and thought gosh, what if that was boring, should I say something more or just leave things as they are, I guess I just leave things as they are". He looked up at the she-cat again and waited for her answer.

ivykit lifted her head and mewed "I'm ivykit" she flicked her tail towards three other kits playing near the nursery "those are my siblings; dark-kit, badgerkit, and silverkit" she indicated each cat in turn. she continued "my father is starlingblaze, and my mother is..." she trailed off as she remembered "I..I'm sorry I wasn't thinking, you're the kit who's mother died aren't you..."

Ravenkit nodded a try falling across her check. He shook himself and thought come on, mother wouldn't want you to cry in front of her. He looked up a smile on his face. He said," yeah, it doesn't bother me very much any more, you can talk about your mom I really don't mind". He licked his chest and smiled slightly. He took another big bite of his piece of prey and then looked up at Ivykit again and said," How are you?". He licked his chest again and then took another big bite of his yummy prey. He swallowed the piece and then waited for Ivykit to answer.
