Wolf
OOC: I saw you were looking for threads so I quickly whipped out the Adder Dawn one that I owed XD
The brown tabby lay in the shadows of a patch of tall grass, striped tail lifted slightly off the ground, ears pricked up in earnest. His whiskers twitched as he sensed movement ahead of him once more, quietly accompanied by a soft patter of little feet along dirt and grass; musky but warm scent drifted into his nose, and he parted his jaws to identify it. Mouse. A rather big one. He pushed forward two steps, just enough to allow his twin orbs of green sight lock onto a grey-brown body sniffing a seed, before nibbling on it with its tiny teeth.
Pinning back his ears, the tom leapt forward with as much strength as he could. He stretched out his forepaws, claws unsheathed, teeth bared and ready to sink them into flesh before it squirmed...but he missed his target. With a grunt, he crash-landed a rabbit-length from the mouse, half-scrabbling and half-sliding half of that distance to the prey; realising the danger, the grey-brown body disappeared into a hole beneath the hill, it's terrifies squeaks the only thing left of its presence as it tail disappeared into the gloom with it.
A disappointed snort came from the tabby, who had gotten himself into a sitting position. He shook himself out vigorously, prompting dust and small pieces of stone to fly off from his head and chest fur; rumpled fur was left, and he had half the want to push it back down with his tongue, but frankly, he had not the mood to do it. Instead, he sat there by the disturbed patch of grass, sheathing and unsheathing his claws repeatedly as he let his sullen eyes glare at his prey's escape route.
