-Kinkblaze-
The two old tracks that ran parallel to each other were practically nonexistent. Leaves the color of fire had covered them in delicate shades of red, orange, and yellow. Each leaf was large and dry, cracking under the pawsteps of the young warrior. His orange tail swayed just over the leaves, blending in with some and standing out against others. In a way, Kinkblaze could have matched his surroundings if the majority of his body wasn't white. but, blending in didn't matter on this trip, for this was supposed to be an adventure.
Being a warrior now, there was no one that would bother to shoo him away from the old, strange two leg tracks the way he was when he was an apprentice. Granted, he wasn't too much older, but he had looked grown. It hadn't been long after the ceremony either. He was still green, still fresh, and he felt he could rub that off if he ventured here. There was no real danger, but the idea of a giant snake monster that had once curled it's way through here had him curious. Maybe it would rear it's ugly head.
Anyways, Kinkblaze continued to walk on, the scent of decaying leaves strong in his nose. It almost masked the scent of something else. but, a stirring breeze had pushed a familiar scent to him. It was only a second and he was sure it wasn't really there. What had graced his nose was the scent of Rowansky. Which was odd in itself. Surely that little she-cat wouldn't have tried to come out here on her own. Certainly not after that fox incident. Or maybe that didn't even shake her. Or maybe she followed him!
The thought made him feel violated in a way. This was his secret trek and he wanted to go it alone. His tail tip twitched as he sat in the leaves next to the strange path. Kinkblaze did feel foolish for thinking so suddenly that Rowansky was actually there just because he thought he caught her scent on the leaf - fall breeze. For all he knew he could have just walked over some weird smelling plant, who knew? He didn't.
Once again, he rose to his paws and trotted along, looking for any evidence of the Phantomed snake monster.
