Into the Frozen Night [tagged]

Sakuratree, I'm am so sorry for taking so long.

Bluethorn just yawned and stood up from his nest. The cold leafbare air cause memories that he would like to forget at times. He just flicked his half ear and sighed, he did not mind the way his ear was frostbitten off. but sometimes he would have dreams about how cold his body was. That had been moons ago about the time he first became an apprentice. but the the young blueish gray tom could always go back to that day with ease. Was it because he was close to joining Starclan or because he had a constant reminder anytime he looked at his reflection. but the average sized warrior headed out of the warmness of the den and into the cooler clearing. He scanned his minty green eyes around camp. He glanced back at the warrior den then thats when he knew that he wasn't going to get much more sleep. Glancing around he looked at the fresh kill pile it was quite low. Turning towards the camp entrance Bluethorn headed out into the night. He thought he might be able to catch a bat at this time. 

With the cold air making his breath visible in the air the tom headed out into the night.

Silverbreeze was restless. She could not sleep at all. Lately, all she could think about was her family. How bitter and cruel they were to her. Why not go for a midnight run? I'm sure the fresh-kill pile needed refreshing. I'll go where ever my paws take me. Heading towards the camp entrance, Silverbreeze started breaking into a run towards the Flying Rat Nest. Not to long into her run, she spotted another cat with a gray-blue pelt. Was it someone from her clan? Quickly, shse caught up to the cat coming to a direct halt. "Hi Bluethorn, I didn't know you were on a stroll as well," she greeted.

Bluethorn just padded into the night. He was headed up the Flying Rats nest. He medium sized tom just shook out his blue gray fur trying to stay warm on this cold night. He just then kept moving forward at a faster pace so he would get too cold. Thats when he heard the paws steps of another cat. He just stopped when he heard them. Opening his mouth he smelt a Talonclan scent. That was the good thing because well if it wasn't Talonclan Bluethorn would have to worry a bit. The blueish gray tom listened as the paw steps grew louder. He knew this cat was coming in fast thats when the shape appeared in the night. It was finally Silverbreeze that came to a halt in front of him. He just blinked his minty green eyes at the she-cat. He knew her but well he didn't talk to her that often, which was a surprise because Bluethorn was a bit flirt. He liked to talk to almost any she-cat. He sometimes came off as a player but he actually was quite honorable. He just then flashed her a crooked smiled that some would say is charming. "Yeah I guess you could say that. I just couldn't sleep so I figured that the cold air would help." Then he just tilted his head and winked at her, "Though its not as cold with you near by."

Silverbreeze stuttered a bit at the tom's words. "O-Oh thanks. Even my fluffy pelt is enough to keep me warm right now. Mind if I join you? I could use the warmth and company right now," she smiled warmly. The she-cat moved a but closer to get warmer from the powerful blasts of cold air. She puffed out her silky pelt attempting to warm up. The chills got worse and worse. This Leafbare is certainly harsh. Awkwardly, she put one paw in front of the other as she kept moving forward. This tom, as she had heard, flirted quite often with other she-cats. Of course Sikverbreeze didn't mind, but she was still a bit cautious. After all, he was a little attractive in her opinion. She shook her head to did of those thoughts. What was she thinking? There was no way she could like someone. It was just impossible. Then again, she did like the way he complimented other she-cats. Once again, she inched closer to get more warmth. She wanted to hear more of his charm. It made her feel good about herself. More wanted then she had ever felt in her life. She looked at the tom trying to find his eyes. Could he possibly give her the missing attention she never had?

Bluethorn just flicked his ears slightly at her stuttering out the reply. It was something that he should have been used to by now but it surprised him all the time. Words were so funny that they could cause so many emotions from others. Bluethorn just shivered slightly, she did have a fluffy pelt. He just shrugged and said, "Of course. A stroll is always better with two." Then he just smiled at her, saying, "I'm sure that fluffy pelt is better off than mine." He just started moving along once again. Silverbreeze just took a step closer to him. He didn't move but continued padding along, letting her get close to him. He didn't mind the wind and air out tonight was quite cold and warmth was nice. He just then said the words pouring out of his mouth smoothly, "Its going to be a rough leafbare huh?" Then he turned and looked at Silverbreeze his minty green eyes warm even though it was freezing outside. He just then nudged her easily with a shoulder. Being a bit playfully even though the question and topic was a bit on the more serious side.

"Yeah, I'm quite surprised my pelt isn't enough for me to stay warm," she admitted. "I'm scared for the younger ones in the clan. Of course the apprentices and warriors will be able to make it through. but, what about the kits? I'm worried they'll have troubles making it through. Same with the sick cats." She then felt Bluethorn nudge her. Silverbreeze smiled warmly at him. She playfully returned a nudge. Looking up at the sky, she studied the stars and moon. They were bright today in the night sky. There was not a single cloud in the sky making them shine brighter. "Aren't they beatiful tonight? It makes me think that Starclan is watching us right now," she mewed softly. "They'll protect us this Leafbare. I'm sure." After all, they weren't going to abandon the clans at their time of need. She purred quietly at the sight of the sky.
