Willowpaw carefully balanced on one of the steel tracks on the Unused Thunderpath, her mind wandering. She was in one of her daydreams, imagining what it will be like once she's a warrior. I'll be a great warrior, I know it! I'll get an apprentice, and I'll teach them to be the best as well! She thought, green eyes shining with hope. She delicately placed one paw after the other, wobbling a bit with each step.

Willowpaw had been told about the Unused Thunderpath, and some warriors told her not to come near it. The she-cat didn't think much of it at the time, but decided not to go. but then she heard other warriors saying it was completely safe, and she heard some apprentices talk about how they had played here. This peaked Willowpaw's curiosity, and she came over. It was a peaceful place, perfect for daydreaming. It had quickly become one of Willowpaw's favorite places to hang out, and this was her fifth or so visit to it.

Hawkstep trudged through the wet grass in search of prey. A successful hunting patrol had brought home a sufficient amount of prey for everyone, and by StarClan, was it a relief; the meager serving that was usually collected went straight to the elders and queens, leaving food for the kits, and then the apprentices, and then the warriors. No wonder LeafClanners' ribs jutted out so sharply. 

Coming across the Unused Thunderpath, she changed her path and walked into the clearing. She saw a little shecat balancing on the snake monster tracks. Who's that? She's pretty, huh.. Hawkstep walked over to the she-cat. "Hey there, I'm Hawkstep.. what are you doing?" she said, laughing.

"What are you doing?" Willowpaw heard Hawkstep's voice, and snapped out of her daydream. "Whah!" She cried out in surprise, wobbling on the track and falling off. Jumping to her paws and shaking her long fur vigorously, she looked at the other she-cat. The apprentice recognized her. "Hey Hawkstep!" She mewed happily. Then she shrugged. "I dunno. Just trying to balance on the tracks." She flicked her ears toward the steel tracks. "What about you? Are you out hunting, or what?" She continued, her clear green eyes big as she looked up at the warrior. "Oh, right! I'm Willowpaw!" She purred, introducing herself.

It was a nice day; the snow had melted, leaving the grass wet, which was a little less nice. Hawkstep smiled as Willowpaw addressed her. "Hey.. uh.. what are you called again?" she asked, kicking the ground. Oh StarClan, what is she called.. Before Hawkstep could stutter an apology, the other cat was talking again. "I dunno, just trying to balance on the tracks." Hawkstep nodded, smirking at this quirk of the shecat. "Haha, alright. I'm out hunting, care to join me? We can do team hunting.. Willowpaw." she mewed as the shecat introduced herself. She pretended to walk away, turning around to see if the she-cat was following her.

"I'd love to!" Willowpaw purred, quickly bounding over to the she-cat's side. It was a bit awkward trying to leap in the snow, and she occasionally flopped onto the ground with an "Oof!" before leaping back up and continuing. Willowpaw trotted alongside Hawkstep, her nose high in the air and her mouth open. "Smell anything?" She asked the warrior in her usual upbeat tone.
