A morning on the border - Tagged/Open

Stormfrost blinked her eyes sleepily as she headed out of the warriors den, bumping into the entrance. She sighed and padded out into the camp, glancing over into the freshkill pile. Not as high as it could be. but, Stormfrost actually thought it would be better to go on a border patrol. She'd been a little suspicious lately; honestly, she didn't even know why.

She stretched, yawning as she did so. As she looked around the clearing, she saw a few other cats were awake as well. "Ah, now who can I drag along on my adventure?" She thought aloud, going through the names in her head. "Ah! Laurelheart!" She gave a mischievious grin (yes, to herself,) and bounded over. "Laurelheart, would you mind accompanying me an a border patrol?"

The sierra tabby she-cat turned as she heard the voice behind her, and practically spat out mouse guts onto the arrival's face.

"Laurelheart, would you mind accompanying me on a border patrol?" asked Stormfrost. Laurelheart relaxed. It wasn't a tomcat coming to hit on her. Or someone coming to tell her to work. I think I deserve some rest, StarClan help me. I just healed from my sickness.

"Hello, Stormfrost, you scared me for a heartbeat," she said, flicking her tail in greeting. "Yeah, I was just finishing up this mouse." gesturing to her food, she took a last bite, and stood up, giving herself a quick groom. Kicking dirt over the remains of the mouse, she nodded. "Sure, I'd be glad to." And thanks for disturbing me during my meal! "Do you, uh, have any idea where you want to go?" she asked, her eyes roving over the camp. The air was chilly and her short fur was definitely not helping. Flicking her ears, she shivered slightly. "It sure is cold out here. I wish I had long fur like those other cats. At least it helps when it gets really hot."

OOC: Sorry about that. I was thinking of leaving it off with Stormy saying the names I her head, but I thought "Lion might not know how to enter if I do that!" Well, the more you know I guess! I'll remind myself in the future.

Stormfrost smiled as she replied. "Sorry about that! Anyway, yeah, I think maybe we could go by the MidnightClan border. Are you okay with that? Or would you rather go by SunsetClan's?" She cocked her head as she asked the question, staring curiously at the cat in front of her. She, honestly, was just happy that Laurelheart hadn't turned her down.

"Sorry about that! Anyway, yeah, I think maybe we could go by the MidnightClan border. Are you okay with that? Or would you rather go by SunsetClan's?" Stormfrost babbled. It took a while for Laurelheart to register the other she-cat's quick words.

"SunsetClan sounds nice," said Laurelheart. She was honestly terrified of MidnightClan, especially with their admirable strength and their gruff leader Bramblestar. SunsetClan seemed a lot more of her type, and she avoided the MidnightClan border as much as she could. Last time she had gone there, she had caused a border tussle. Not showing my face there ever again. "So um, just want to check the border, and maybe hunt along the way back?" she suggested, shivering again. "It really is c-cold," she said, chattering a bit. "Can we get moving already? The cold's getting to me. I'm gonna run!" Playfully flicking snow in the direction of Stormfrost's face, and leapt away, kicking up more snow. "Come get me-- aghhh!" the snow was deeper than she'd imagined, and she fell into a hidden ditch. "Help! Help, I'm freezing! Stormfrost!" her yowls were muffled by the chilly snow, and she desperately tried to wriggle around. Always getting into trouble, eh, Laurelheart?

"Hunting sounds nice." Stormfrost agreed. "The cold's getting to me, I'm gonna run!" The other she-cat said. Stormfrost closed her eyes as the snow whistled closer, and sneezing when it hit her nose. She smiled, and bounded quickly after the other she-cat. As she did so, more snow flew up, this time covering her eyes. She was still laughing when she heard it - "Come get me -- aghhhh!"

Stormfrost quickly shook the snow off, running over to a lump in the snow. She could see most of Laurelheart, but some of her was stuck in the snow. She dogged some of the snow out of the way, enough so that the other she-cat could push the rest with ease. "Are you okay?" She asked, almost frantically.
