Phantom in the Rain (Phantomspirit)

OOC: Phantomspirit I decided to make the Phantom and Rainfrost thread. =P

Rainfrost grunted with displeasure at the sounds of shuffling all around her. Opening one sleepy eye, she saw the other warriors starting to wake up and get ready for the long day ahead. With a sigh, the bluish-grey she-cat pushed herself to her paws, opening her jaws in a massive yawn. Then she stretched, and quickly groomed her messy fur as she waited for the warrior's den entrance to be open. Once it was, the she-cat padded out and into the TalonClan camp. All around her, cats were going in and out of the dens, coming in and out of the camp, and overall just busying themselves.

Eventually her eyes rested on the former-loner, Phantom. She remembered meeting him for the first time when she was out hunting, and just so happened to stumble upon the patrol that had found him. She joined in, but they all left when the tom was going to talk to Briarstar. She had heard that he was accepted into the clan, but she wasn't sure if he had received his clan name yet. Well, only one way to find out.

"Hey Phantom!" She called, padding up to him with a smile on her face. Generally Rainfrost doesn't like non-clan cats, but Phantom had proved himself to be a pretty great tom, not to mention that he was part of TalonClan now. She sat down once she had reached him, her golden eyes flashing as she waited for a response.

Phantom was startled from his thoughts when Rainfrost called his name. He hadn't received his clan name quite yet, but waited for it daily. He presumed Briarstar was probably busy, and didn't have the time to think up a name for him. He sat down to speak with the she-cat in front of him.

"Oh! Hey Rainfrost. How are you?"

Rainfrost's tail flicked back and forth, and she shrugged. "Oh, you know. Just the same old same old." She meowed, whiskers twitching in amusement. "What about you? Congrats on being welcomed into the clan by the way!" She purred, flicking the tom's shoulder with her tail. "What do you think your name will be? And your temporary mentor?" She continued, questioning him. She rather liked talking to the tom; his personality was easy to get along with, and he was a tom who didn't seem to mind her tomboy nature.

The black Tom sat down to face Rainfrost, "I have no clue, maybe something like Nightpaw, as for a mentor, maybe Blackripple. but like I said, I don't know." He smirked back at the she-cat, hoping his answer had been satisfactory. He had, of course, made a few friends while exploring the clan, but was still considered an outsider by most.

Rainfrost flashed him a toothy grin. "That sounds like an appropriate name." She commented. She didn't really know Blackripple, but if Phantom thought he was going to get him as a mentor, he must be a good warrior. She scratched her ear with her back paw. "So, have you made any friends? Or do they all deem you as the strangest tom to ever walk the clans?" She asked sarcastically.

"Not very many, only Lightningfire, Blackripple and you. The other cats tend to keep their distance." He had met the other warrior, Lightningfire, only hours before. He thought for a moment. "Hey, Rainfrost, me and Lightningfire were thinking of going on a hunt tonight. Would you like to come with us?"

Rainfrost snorted. "So you are the strangest cat in the clan, then." She joked. The she-cat knew that they kept their distance because he was a former loner, but the bluish-grey she-cat would never pass up the opportunity to joke around. At Phantom's suggestion, she brightened. "Sure, that'd be great." She purred. "Just don't think you can beat me at hunting!" She got into a hunter's crouch and wiggled her haunches, flexing her claws for emphasis.
