A black figure crouched in the bushes near foraging rabbit. White paws inched forward. Claws sinking into the dirt. Then, she lunged. Claws out and aimed for the rabbit. A scream and then silence. Antfern, white muzzle bright against the throat of the gray bunny, stood there. A gleam of pleasure in her green eyes. Prey was coming back. Slowly. This was a good sign.

From a distance, Thornbriar's head rose up from his post hearing the rabbit's short cry of death. Smirking, the umber tomcat slowly made his way to the sound, his ears flicking back and forth attempting to be as quiet as possible. His large fluffy paws were slightly audible, before the large male crouched and began to stalk towards the she-cat and her fresh kill. Gritting his fangs, he kept low in the brush, a few fox lengths away from her and waited.

"Heh....That's it..." Whispered the tom to himself as his pupils slit into his emerald eyes before the colossal bundle of fur lunged out from his barrier of brush, tackling the she-cat with his strength and weight making her tumble over, as he pinned her down by the chest with one white paw. "I'll be taking that back to camp~" mused the tomcat as he moved off of her picking up the small grey rodent.

The girl was about to walk away. She had more than this to take back. She had a finch and a vile as well. She hadn't a clue that Thornbriar was watching her. Nor that he was sneaking up on her. By the time she had noticed, it was to late. Her head twisted in time to see him. He lunged at her. She didn't have time to react. How had she let him get so close? Darn her lack of attention.

His paws connected and she toppled over with ease. The apprentice sized female hissed as he let her go and grabbed her rabbit. "Hey! Paws off me! Got it? You don't touch me unless I know you." It wasn't like she cared. She just didn't want him to touch her, standing there, she snorted and looked away. "What? Can't hunt your own? Poor little kit." She teased with her dark and velvety voice.

"I do hunt little kit, but its been a bit hard for me seeing I'm not very stealthy like the...Other hunters in the clan." Thornbriar mused, refusing to call them 'better' or 'more capable' as that would harm his reputation. "In fact I look at it like this," Thornbriar drawled airily, "I put so much of my energy dealing with you lazy cats that I deserve a little bit more than one measly morsel of food each day. Therefore you get to pick up my slack and gift me this wonderful rabbit so I can go onto finding more important things to do rather than training."

Thornbriar was starting to get annoyed and slightly out of breath from talking so long, he took the rabbit in his powerful jaws, turning to the she-cat and winked before making his way off to the camp, his tail flicking tauntingly at her, daring her to even think of going after him.

[Respronics]

And go after him she would. The stealthy female shot forward silently and attempted to leap up onto his back. She may not be the best hunter. She wanted to show him she was far from a kit. Though her claws weren't out, she was aiming a few blows with her left fron paw to his head. "Take the rabbit lazy fur. but realize you are the lazy one, not me!" She was almost playful in her ways, though she put just enough force into it for it to sting a bit.

"O-of! Quit that, get off me!" Yowled the tomcat as he began to buck violently about the clearing thus dropping the prey he once held in his jaws. He fell back, crushing her against the earth beneath them before rolling away, shaking out the filth from his pelt. With a snort, Thornbriar pressed his large paw against her throat, his fur standing on end down his neck. "Now listen here kitten...If you didn't catch me in a good mood today, I'd skin you and use your precious little pelt as my nest bedding understand? You are unwise to call me lazy..." The tomcat growled lowly to her, his claws nipping against her throat in warning. "The next time little runt I will not act so kindly."

[Respronics]

"Little?" She hissed and jumped up. She felt the claws nick her and ignored it. "I call you as I see you. Why don't you go patrol or something! I have more hunting to do. Maybe I can teach you like I do my apprentice." She teased with a snort before shaking her pelt out and stretching. Her gaze flicked to the rabbit. "The prey I hunt may be to fast for a fighter like you." She adds with a shrug.

"Pah, if you were half the hunter I am you'd be able to catch something more than a scrawny rabbit," snapped the tomcat as he moved off of her his ears pinning flat against his head. With a snort, he picked up the small rodent, pushing it down with a paw. The tabby-tom's tail flicked in irritation at her, his lips curled back in a sneer, "speaking of your little apprentice, I don't see them around. Skipping on your warrior duties are you?" Mused Briarthorn with a smirk as he picked up the rabbit in his large jaws and turned with a sassy shrug of his large shoulders. 

Flicking his tail as if to say, don't bother coming to camp, we've already got pawfulls of useless warrior knockoffs. With that, the large tomcat strutted away calmly and slowly keeping at his own pace with no hurry in the movement of his legs.

[Respronics]

"Unlike you, I have taught him to be a skilled hunter. Seems your mentor shirked their duties with teaching you not to be a mouse brain." She retorts with a lash of her tail. Twisting, she grabbed her other two catches and trotted forward. Moving past the Tom, flicking her tail against his nose. She glanced back, clearly amused with him now.

The tomcat's nose twitched as her tail brushed against it, his ears pinning flatter as his fur began to stand on end. With a smirk, the brute clamped his strong jaws on the end of her tail wanting to hear her squeal. Yanking her back, Thornbriar shoved her away with a powerful paw keeping his claws unsheathed. 

"You have nerve kitten, thinking you can just speak to me like that," the tom meowed dangerously to her, his emerald eyes darkening. "If you want to ever become a senior warrior, I suggest you keep that maw of your shut from now on, and don't take me lightly..." Thornbriar growled, becoming bored with her as he picked up his rabbit waltzing away with his tail flicking in much irritation from the she-cat, his ears still flat and the fur on the back of his neck standing tall.

[Respronics]

"Awe! Did I hurt the little Kittypets feelings?" She asked as she was yanked back. Laying there, she watched him walk away and smirked. This male, oh, she was going to enjoy him being about. Standing, the girl stretched and picked up her catch, following after him with ease. She wasn't letting him off easy. After all, she felt that if they got to know each other, maybe they could hpbe a team. Her the hunter, him the fighter. Her speed, his brawn. Hmm.. Amused, she moved up beside him. "A mite hateful today?" She asks evenly.

With a snort, he let out a breath seeing she continued to...to...To talk to him. Thornbriar glanced at the annoying she-cat and swiped a paw at her, not as fast as she however as it brushed against the top of her head. "Go away, you exhaust me," snapped the tom as he walked faster, his head low to the ground in irritation as his tail flicked back and forth dangerously. "I might as call you Lostear since you must've not heard a word I just said." 

With a breath he continued to lurch foreword until he was sure he was several fox-lengths away from her, but he didn't take the time to check. His ears slowly began to lift from this feeling seeing TalonCamp's entrance in the distance, his tail flicking happily knowing there would be fresh kill there waiting for everyone.

And, now she decided to be mean again. Shooting forward, the swift feline bolted past the ale and dove right into camp. Knowing, that all he would see was her white tipped tail entering camp. Her eyes flashing as she slowed and moved to the freshkill. There, after a moment, she dropped her freshkill and stretched. Turning, she made her way over to a queen with kits playing nearby her. Sitting, she offered her a squirrel she had planned to eat. Forgetting her own hunger. She let the queen have it before going and taking freshkill to the elders and other queens. Then, to the medicine cats. After a while, she turned and sank herself disown near the camp entrance and sighed.

With a grunt of irritation, Thornbriar watched the she-cat bolt ahead and race into camp. "No one likes a show off! Coming from one at least..." The tomcat huffed as he continued to slink himself into camp without any prey to offer to the pile. From this he knew he couldn't eat when he didn't add to food for the clan, going over to his smooth, flat rock to lay down and rest on an empty stomach. He ignored the she-cat, his white tipped tail flicking back and forth with the usual scowl on his face.

Watching him, she stood and trotted over to the freshkill pile. Grabbing a bat, she stood and walked to the warrior. Dropping it at his paws, she blinked. "Here. Have mine,. I'm not hungry." She states simply as she turns her back on him and trots a few feet away. Finding a patch of sun that has entered the cave, she plops down and sighs. Tail tip twitching while she thought.
