Crouched at a small rock extending out into the pools, the large golden tabby waited as the minnows swam back and forth in his reflection. Leaning back on his hind legs, he rose a white paw and swiped before lowering his head and grabbed the small fish, putting it next to an earlier catch. Smiling gently to himself, the tomcat's golden ears flicked hearing a loud rib-bet behind him. Jumping slightly, the large tom whipped his head around to face a large frog leaping about a few tail-lengths away. 

Maybe today will be another day...Or perhaps this time...Lionthistle mused to himself as he slowly turned, light on his feet towards the creature. Never once had he ever caught a frog, let alone a plump one such as this amphibian. Fish were always his forte, as he didn't even enjoy eating frogs, let alone their stinky scent and slimy texture, he didn't even want to know what they would taste like. but for the better of SunsetClan's kill pile, he slowly moved to it, his paws skimming across the soft, wet earth towards it as the frog ceased its incessant movement. When he was in the red zone, as he called it, he leaned foreword raising a paw, his claws unsheathed and perhaps...With no distractions.

Blizzardpaw had been roaming the clan's territory since the sun was barely above the horizon. She could hardly sleep lately since she had been given her new name. She was excited to be an apprentice now and was ready to prove herself to her clan and leader that she would be a great warrior. A small purr rumbled in her chest as she neared the Tadpole pools. Maybe the silver colored tabby she would try and catch something while she was out. Or at least that was her plan until she saw her newly appointed mentor, Lionthistle, crouched.

A smile crossed her face and she padded quicker to meet up with him. She couldn't tell what he was really doing crouched close to the ground. "Hey Lionthistle! Whatcha doing?" The small she-cat jumped onto the small rock that he had been sitting on just moments ago and laid down on her belly, forepaws extended out in front of her, purrs rumbling softly with each breath she took.

Before she opened her maw, the large tomcat pounced towards the toad sitting on a rock before him, landing face first into the surface as the small creature hopped away without a worry. "Ooooh...," Lionthistle groaned rubbing his wounded forehead with a paw, glancing towards his appointed apprentice with an amber gaze. "Oh....Its just you, Blizzardpaw..." Clearing his throat, the gentle giant rose to his paws and walked over with a slow pad sitting down next to her. "I was hunting. but then I heard a noisy little kit behind me that scared my prey off," the tomcat teased, giving her a playful swipe to the head. "First thing you must learn about hunting Blizzardpaw, you have to be quiet in the territories or you'll scare everything away understand?" Lionthistle mused to his little apprentice, his tail flicking. "Why don't we try a few pouncing techniques eh? See if you can catch a slippery toad."

The small she-cat giggled as she watched as her mentor's target casually hopped away from sight, leaving the two of them without a care. but all amusement evaporated from her as soon as the golden tabby called her a noisy kit, cuffing her lightly over the head. "Hey! I'm not a little kit anymore. That's why I'm allowed to be out here now..." She sat up and gave him a disgruntled pouty look. Blizzardpaw rolled her light colored green eyes at him as the tom mentioned being quiet near the clan's hunting grounds. She knew that, but she didn't think anyone would be hunting out here, not right now at least.

Her curiosity picked up at the mention of pouncing techniques. Turning her attention back to Lionthistle, a small smile crept across her face. "Really? but catching a toad seem real difficult. Could you show me how first?" She mewed in a softer voice. The small apprentice looked up at him expectantly as she padded over to stand beside him. This was going to be her first real training session!

A dark lithe figure slipped through the Sunsetclan territory, heading in the direction of the Leafclan border. The lone warrior stopped for a couple of moments and opened her mouth to scent the air, before continuing on since he didn't detect anything unusual. The sparse trees began to thicken a little into a birch forest by the time he was close to the border of his clan's territory. Lajestorm stopped at the edge of the border, and then glanced around if any intruders were there. He marked the border with his own scent before continuing on.

On the way back to the Sunsetclan camp, she reached the Tadpool Pools.. Lakestorm's ears pricked up when she head a couple voices coming from not far away. Hoping it wasn't some rogues or Leafclan cats, she stealthily followed the sound of the voices. The warrior sighed with relief when she spotted one of her denmates training an apprentice. She crept forward silently with their backs facing her, feeling a bit mischievous. This would be a perfect lesson to teach, not to let your guard down. Once the she-cat got close enough to them to pounce, she sprung forward with claws sheathed.

Chuckling at the she-cat before him the golden tomcat nodded as he stood on his paws. "but of coarse...you see the creatures are able to sense your movement, so one must be quick and stealthy you see..." Lionthistle crouched on his white paws and slowly moved forward through the grass of the bank. "Finding them is no heavy feet you see, frogs are quite loud with their odd cry, but you mustn't be louder than them." The tomcat lightly scolded her from the earlier events before his ears perked hearing the loud rib-bit from not too far on the other side of the pools. "Watch and learn Blizzardpaw..." Her mentor mused as the large warrior made his way around the pools, his amber eyes gleaming as the creature peeked into existence.
